Jordan went outside and got together with Cynthia and Loren. She told them all about what happened with Livia. They were shocked, they instantly asked if she was okay. Jordan nodded, wiping her face dry of the coldness.
"Is Livia the Great Good?" Jordan said, but it didn't make sense though, because the Lady said before that the Great Good had been there, and that was before Livia had gotten there. "Never mind, I don't know why I said that..."
Cynthia smiled. "I'm sure that she's a big part of it though. Like us all." Loren nodded his head in agreement.
Jordan closed her eyes and opened her mouth as she took in some cleansing breaths. She began to speak again. "I've just be there for Livia, and she will be fine. I'm not going to let the evil consume her." It felt like everything around her vanished for a moment, and she was left outside alone.
Downstairs Gregg told Georgia and Jim what had happened with Livia. They were in shock. Jim was ready to go find Stanley and kill him. He knew though, he stood no chance. Though he'd really like to hurt him for hurting Livia.
Amenia went over to her brother and told him what was going on as well. Shaine's eyes widened as his sister spoke the words she did. Shaine was ready for anything now and so was Amenia. They knew things were really bad, but not this bad. Then again, no one would really believe this anyway.
Jordan walked back inside pondering what was going on, and what Cynthia had just said to her. They were all keys to this. If she knew why Livia and the rest were all keys, she would be able to fix all this. She just knew it, and it was eating away at her because she knew she was getting closer. That would mean Stanley would be getting closer too. She didn't like to think of that. She just shook the thought out of her head as she walked into where all the others were. Cynthia and Loren gathered the coven about, and told them everything that had happened. They all prayed for the Goddess to protect Livia and themselves.
Kaine looked down at Livia's sleeping face. She looked peaceful, that probably meant she wasn't having nightmares about his father. He hated his father for all this. He wondered how he came back. He was supposed to be dead. How could he come back? Is that dark force that powerful? He didn't even think the Goddess would do that. He gently stroked his hand down Livia's face and just stared at it.
Jordan really didn't know what to think at the moment as her mind rambled on. How could Stanley come back from the dead like that? This power source he was getting his energy had to be strong, but she knew the Goddess was stronger, and she remembered the words of her friends. That she needed to believe in herself as much as she believed in the Goddess.
Jordan smiled, joining back into conversation. "Yeah, that's what she needs right now," referring to Livia. "Is our love, and our protection."
"Where is she right now?" Jim said.
"Kaine took her upstairs. She's in my room. She should be sleeping right now." Jordan smiled. "I know she's safe in my room, and with Kaine."
Hestia giggled. "Yeah definitely."
Demeter just shook her head as she stared at the floor. "I can't believe that bastard posed as Aimery. Now Livia's never gonna think of him the same way again." She looked over to Aimery.
"I know. But at least she knows it wasn't me." Aimery said. "I don't know how that guy is doing it either. Isn't he supposed to be dead?"
Skrina looked over to him, then Cynthia and Loren. "When his voice came to me, he told me he couldn't come visible cos of what us witches did to him. How come he came visible to Livia?"
They looked at Skrina. "I don't know. I guess he just draws his energy and magick from a evil that supplies his rage." Loren sighed.
Georgia looked at them all. "I still can't swallow this stuff. I'm a atheist. I don't believe in no Gods, Goddesses, or devils."
Gregg and Jim laughed. "See? You don't need God or the Goddess to show you two forms of I.D. to exist. You just gotta believe."
Georgia shook her head. "Well, when they come to me personally, then and only then, will I believe in them."
Kaine was drifting off to sleep himself from the lulling atmosphere of Jordan's room. His eyes were getting heavy and he was trying with all his might to fight the heavy sleepiness. Eventually he lost the battle and was fast asleep with Livia. Jordan quietly snuck up the stairs and peeked her head into her room. She smiled at the sight of the two sleeping, Kaine holding Livia in his arms. Livia seemed to be cuddled up right up on him, and she seemed happy in her slumber. She quietly walked up to her bed and grabbed the covers and covered them over the two. Livia stirred but didn't wake up. She looked over to the clock. Seven twenty two glowed in bright green numbers on the digital clock. She wondered if tomorrow at this time would she be able to look at the clock? She just hoped that all her friends were going to be protected.
"Hey Jordan…" Gregg whispered as his hat covered head peeked through the door.
"Yes Gregg?" She said quietly coming to the door.
"Everyone's getting ready to get some tarot card readings, are you gonna come?" He tilted his head so she could see up it, and she could almost see his entire face.
"Sure." She said. "I just came up to check up on them."
Gregg peeked his head in again as Jordan walked passed him. He looked at Livia curled up with Kaine. He smiled and gently shut the door.
Amenia and a few other coven members were giving the others tarot card readings, and from the readings from the people they had already given to, everyone seemed like they would be living beyond tomorrow. Maybe Stanley was only a ghost, and only was haunting them, then again, they knew what happened to Livia and what he did to her was quite physical. Jordan definitely wanted one; she needed some insight, something that could point her in the right direction. Then again, she had her coven, she had the oracle, and her ancestors' Book of Shadows. Then again, all the help she could get she would use. It's hard being a young girl and then all a sudden be a witch with all these psycho problems, but she knew from all this, deep down inside, she was going to get through it and be a fine witch. If only she listened to that voice more often.
Amenia smiled when Jordan sat in front of her. Jordan took the cards from Amenia and held them close to her chest in her hands. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the question she was going to ask. Of course it was about the Great Good and Equal Evil and how they were going to defeat the Equal Evil, if they even could.
Amenia looked at her a little weird because no one has ever done that before to her. This must have been a real important question. Jordan began whispering something to herself. To everyone else who heard her whispering it sounded nothing like anything, but gibberish, but it was perfectly clear to Jordan. She handed the cards pack to Amenia. Amenia shuffled them and asked her to cut the cards, Jordan did as asked and Amenia laid out five cards.
Amenia looked at the cards as she began to read them to herself in her mind. She looked up at Jordan and pointed to the first card and explained it's meaning. That great secrets were going to be revealed, and the answers she was seeking were going to come to her.
Jordan's eyes enlarged. She remembered her dreams with Kaine's bloody athame, Aimery in the shower and her room. Then she thought of the most important secret she was trying to figure out, the Great Good and Equal Evil. She nodded her head and told Amenia to continue reading the cards.
Amenia then pointed to the second card. "Change, prepare for rebirth, prepare for that change that is coming."
Jordan didn't quite get what that meant, but she did know is that she was going to have to prepare herself for something drastic, as change seemed to be like in her life. She could feel the vibration pouring out of the card. She nodded her head again signaling for Amenia to continue.
Amenia now pointed to the third card. "Strength in for what is right, for fairness."
She understood what that card meant, it was her cause for the Great Good. She was fighting for the right cause; she was fighting to keep her coven alive. She sighed and nodded once again for Amenia.
Amenia's finger now met the fourth card. "Triumph." Amenia said in a dramatic voice. "You are going to succeed over a large obstacle."
Jordan looked queerly at the card beneath Amenia's small fingertip. Triumph? Did that mean they were going to triumph over the Equal Evil? She sure hoped so. She told Amenia to continue; she would contemplate this whole thing together once it was complete.
Lastly Amenia put her finger on the fifth and last card. "High Wisdom, surrender to a higher power, surrender to a condition above your control."
"Thank you." Jordan said. She got up rather quickly and went outside to the garden. It was getting dark, but there were little lanterns outside to give her light.
Surrender? The word was haunting her mind. Then the other card's meanings began to dance in her head. Everything was beginning to fit together, but there still was that last puzzle piece missing. Then it hit her. One piece missing, like a keyhole in a door, and all she needed was a key, Livia. But how can Livia fit in the spot? Which way does she have to turn? Surrender. Does Livia have to surrender to a higher power? Do they all have to? This was all too much to think at the moment, but time was running out. She felt like she could have done so much more on trying to discover everything and achieve what she needed, but this was it, time was running out.
Jim came over and sat down on the bench next to Jordan. He was worried about her. "Jordan are you okay?"
Jordan jumped she was so involved in her thoughts she didn't even notice Jim there. She smiled wiping away her worried thoughts for a moment. "Yeah, I'm fine."
"You looked pretty freaked out after that Amenia chick gave you a tarot reading. What did it say? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Jim looked right into Jordan's eyes and he was quite hypnotized by her lake blue eyes.
"I did? I'm sorry if I worried you. It just kinda freaked me out because it is so the truth, and it kinda hit all my senses and maxed them to a thousand." She smiled. "And it freaked me out because I'm running out of time, only a few more hours until the full moon tomorrow night."
"Honestly, I think that Stanley's full of crap. He can't get in here. He only got Livia because she left." Jim looked down at the ground. He didn't want Jordan to know he was staring at her.
"But does that mean we have to be in here forever? You know we can't do that. Everyone has their own home, their families. I can't have them kept in this house forever, and honestly there isn't that much room." Jordan smiled and looked up at the house. "Anyway, I know its time to get this over with. I have the Goddess on my side, she can defeat any negativity in my way, as powerful as it may be."
"I guess that's your strong point. You have faith. I don't. I guess it's because all the bad luck and bad things that have happen to me and my friends." He continued to look at the ground, now sharing this intimate secret with her, he couldn't look at her now.
Secrets revealed. Flashed into Jordan's mind for a moment. She leaned over and gave Jim a hug. "It's alright. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. I promise." She looked into his deep brown eyes.
"You can't promise that. No one can promise that. We don't know the future. Unless you're 'The All Knowing Gregg'." Jim laughed a little.
"Well, being around Gregg I've picked up a few pointers. Anyway, I feel that nothing is going to happen to you, Georgia, Gregg… or Livia." She bit her lip and wished she didn't pause when she added Livia to that list. She knew he was going to ask why.
"Why did you stop before you said Livia?" His eyes changed his mood suddenly, a little worried now.
She sighed. "Well, Cynthia made a good point to me while I was talking with her and Loren about what happened to her. That she, and the rest of us, were all keys into this thing. About the Great Good and Equal Evil, we just don't know where to put ourselves..."
Jim nodded, now he was a little bit more worried.
"Well, in the tarot reading the one word surrender buzzes through my mind every time I think of Livia being the key to everything, and everything's coming together, but one piece, one piece, like a keyhole in a door, for a important key. Livia."
"And what does Livia have to surrender to? She's my friend and I don't care who it is, I will protect her from anyone. That even means you Jordan. If you guys plan to use her as some sort of bait or something I'll…"
"No! I'd never do that!" Jordan said interrupting Jim before he got too mad or too loud. "This surrender is a good thing, I think, but it will be her own doing. Not mine. I also think I have to surrender too, to a higher power, to help end this all." Jordan leaned back and looked up into the sky. She didn't know if she could look at Jim right now.
Jim did the same; he couldn't look at Jordan right now. Sure he liked her, but Livia and his friends came first. They were his family. The only bond he had left to hold on to, absolutely nothing would get in between them. Nothing.
