The Bouncing Ball Medea Moonfire 1997 This method came to me in mediation when I had an awful headache/earache that was caused by tension in my jaw. My most effective relaxation technique, but the pain was already there and it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon! Had I been practicing the relaxation techniques regularly, I never would have had this problem. What can I say? Live and learn :) Breathe evenly through the nose (in and out to count of 4 or five) to calm the mind and body and help bring your awareness inward. Visualize the area that needs to be healed and reflect on what causes the symptoms if you know. We will use my situation listed above as an example. I knew where the pain was (head and ear) and I knew what caused it (tension in my jaw for extended periods of time). In meditation I found that the cause of the pain (then tension) was black and the pain was a very dark black red that radiated out from the source. It seemed to me that, even though I had learned that tension was causing the pain and that I needed to stop tensing my jaw and clenching my teeth, the muscles and joints of the jaw were stressed and that's why the pain wasn't relieved when I relaxed the offending muscules and joints. So, know we know what it is, what caused it, and why it's still there. Visualize healing ball of white light. Since I was going to be puting it in my jaw joint and surrounding muscles, it was a relatively small ball. I bounced the ball right into my jaw where it started pinging around in there, collecting all that black/red nasty stuff. When the ball was rather dingy with this collection effort, I bounced it out the window and into the ground where it was recycled by the Earth. I enlisted another ball and repeated the process until the jaw joint and surrounding muscles were rid of their tension and stressed state. Then I bounced in a ball of healing light. I placed it in my jaw where the source of the symptoms started, then through the entire area afflicted by pain, coating it with healing light. I let the light sink in, then I went to sleep. When I woke up the pain was gone. |
