Statement of the Faith
መግለጺ እምነት

THE NICENE CREED (381 A.D.)
ውሳኔ ጉባኤ ኒቅያ (381 ዓ.ም.)

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

ኵሉ ብዝሓዘ፡ ሰማይን ምድርን ዚርአን ዘይርአን ብዝፈጠረ
ብሓደ ኣምላኽ ብእግዚኣብሔር ኣብ ንኣምን።

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.

ብሓደ ጎይታ ብኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ፡ ዓለም ከይተፈጥረ
ምስኡ ህልው ብዝኾነ ወልደ ኣብ ዋህድውን ንኣምን።  
ካብ ብርሃን ዝተረኽበ ብርሃን፡ ካብ ሓቀኛ ኣምላኽ ዝተረኽበ ኣምላኽ፡
ዝተወልደ እምበር ፍጡር ዘይኮነ ብመለኮቱ ምስ ኣብ ማዕረ ዝኾነ፡

Through him all things were made.

ኵሉ ብእኡ ዝተፈጥረ፡ ብዘይካኡ ግና
ኣብዚ ምድሪ ዘሎ ይኹን ወይስ ኣብ ሰማይ ዘሎ ምንም ዝተፈጥረ የልቦን።

For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.

 ምእንታና ምእንቲ ሰብ፡ ምእንቲ ምድሓንና፡ ካብ ሰማያት ዝወረደ፡
ብመንፈስ ቅዱስ ካብ ቅድስቲ ድንግል ማርያም ስጋ ለበሰ፡ ሰብ ኮነ።

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.

ሰብ ኮይኑ ድማ ብዘመን ጴንጤናዊ ጲላጦስ ምእንታና
ተሰቕለ (ሓመመ) መከራ መስቐል ተቐበለ፡ ሞተ፡ ተቐብረ። 

On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

ኣብ ቕዱሳት መጻሕፍቲ ከም ዝተጻሕፈ
ኣብ ሳልሰይቲ መዓልቲ ካብ ምውታት ተፈልዩ ተንሰአ።
ብክብሪ ናብ ሰማያት  ዓረገ።
ኣብ የማን ኣብኡ ተቐመጠ።

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

ከም ብሓድሽ ንህያዋንን ምውታትን ክፈርድ ብኽብሪ ክመጽእ እዩ።
ንመንግስቱ መወዳእታ የብሉን።

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.

ጎይታን መሕወይን ብዝኾነ ካብ ኣብ ብዝሰረጸ
ብመንፈስ ቅዱስ ንኣምን።

With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.

ምስ ኣብን  ወልድን ንሰግደሉን ነመስግኖን፡

He has spoken through the Prophets.

ብነብያት ዝተናገረ እዩ።

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
[the communion of saints]

ልዕሊ ዅሉ ናይ ሃዋርያት ጉባኤ ብዝኾነት
ብሓንቲ ቅድስቲ ቤተ ክረስትያን  ንኣምን።

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

ሓጢኣት ንምስትስራይ፡ ብሓንቲ ጥምቀትውን ንኣምን።

We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

ትንሳኤ ሙታንን ንዘለኣለም፡
ዚመጽእ ህይወትውን ተስፋ ንገብር ኣሜን።
