Deep Thought Diving
He looks into the mirror, diving into his own eyes,
Swimming down into the depths to inspect and analyse,
He knows the ways almost instinctively after many a dive,
A seasoned professional who knows what he must revive,
Despite regular quality upgrades and cleaning it is never easy,
And occasionally the depths he travels to make him queasy,
He knows that he must be careful and never go too deep,
If understanding, control, clarity and his sanity he wishes to keep,
He has also gone too far before, not an experience he wants to repeat,
He only just made it back with his body, mind and spirit complete,
Some people would disagree and say " he is not who he used to be",
Well, who is? We are in a constant state of flux as we change naturally,
He never spends much time on these slow fluctuating changes,
Stopping by to check their progress and welcome any young strangers,
Before making his way much deeper into the depths of his mind,
To analyse how, when, why and to whom he has been cruel or kind,
He reviews his files to see if there is any precedent before judgement,
If there is and he has ignored it, he must use his discernment,
And make clear footnotes and amendments to restore continuity,
Remember to collect apologies owed and apologise himself if need be,
He trawls through all his open files, re-opens some and archives others,
Recording the current review date methodically on each of the covers,
He gives everything a final check and clean as he finishes his review,
Then he returns carefully back out of his eyes, ready for as brew.
