Paul Michael Stafford
Paul Michael Stafford's Biography
The Shadow
A shadow coiled around a corner,
Waits for the light to go out,
So that it can smother the streets,
Streets that we will walk at some time,
It whispers to us in our mind,
Tempting us with what we want,
Perhaps a devilish debutante,
To maybe help us go blind?
Rasping patience is a waste of time,
Telling us we can enjoy life's treats,
If only we turn the light out,
And free it from the corner.
