Souls (awen) transmigrate from one body to another, improving themselves in the process, learning along the way. The main difference with for instance Buddhism is that there is no hurry and living is not a curse, you can live as many lives as you wish.
Even when you reach gwenved, or Gwenva, the white world, equivalent to Nirvana, you can come back to the world, and be incarnated again, if you wish. However, when you reach this stage, you have the choice.
