THE FOMORE

The arch enemies of the Tuatha De Dannan were the Fomore. Their King was Balor, a giant with one eye.

Highly civilised, the Fomore fought long and hard with the Tuatha for the control of Ireland.

Lug Lam Fada (named after the God Lug) was half Fomore (on his father side) and half Tuatha De Danaan, Lug means dark as a crow and indeed, Lug had black hair, he was also very beautiful, extremely intelligent and an expert in many arts and skills. Bress, one of the kings of the Tuatha was also a Fomore. Chosen mostly on the ground of his great beauty, He was eventually deposed because of his mean and avaricious temperament.
