I think you've misunderstood a couple of things that, once I hopefuly make them clear here, will have you feeling a bit better about your experiences on the chicago list so far. I'm going to respond point by point to what you have written so carry on and the ol puddle will clear up finely I'm sure... > > I am a subscriber to bm-chicago. I think that you will find that the other > subscribers will agree, that I have been a pleasant and positive presence. > So, why have I been put on moderated status? ---Your presence has been most assuredly pleasant. The 'moderator' status is not an indication of someone under surveillance or on some kind of tight rope injuncture as passed on by any authority or evil toe stomper in the group... on the contrary, to be on the list in 'moderator status' (as you will find EVERYONE on the list is subscribed as a moderator) means that you have the ability to alter the list, access the archives, change tags, etc at your whimsy and will. You are not being MODERATED by anybody on this list, but you have the ability to MODERATE the list. So godspeed Joe, moderate my brother. > > I was wondering if maybe the lengthy delays I see between my posting a > message, and my seeing it were due to some sort of propogation delay, but > no, this problem only seems to occur when I send to bm-chicago. ---Yahoogroups has a very distinct tendancey to really f**king suck :) I have had multiple messages (not to this list but to another one i am on) be gobbled up by the perverbial gremlins at the gate and never be delivered all together. Keep in mind Joe, we're using a free and painfully public service (and it is the IT industry after all which, being a part of that industry I have some experience in this, is made of 50% flakes and 50% nitwits, an even matching but one that deems threat for anything of an efficient or static nature), there are going to be problems and hang ups. If your messages dissappear or take too long, let the list know and then kindly or totally unkindly let the 18 year acne scarred little punks running tech support at yahoogroups know so they can dummy up an answer from their midafternoon aiplane glue binge. Did I do > something to get you guys mad at me ? If so, this was quite unintentional. > Could you please tell me what it is that I did ? ---You're greatest wrong doing was expecting too much from yahoogroups. Don't sweat this too much Joe, everythings gonna be totally cozy and pink and nice before you know it. We all friends here after that same instant of joy and glory, just in different little ways. Keep sending your posts and help build our community out here in the midwest. I'd tell you I love you, but I don't even really know you so that would be a total misrepresentation of how I whore my emotions out. So I'll say I like you, hope you are a little clearer on the disfunctions of this list, and hope you keep doing your part to moving us all forward.
