Grandma's Old Fashioned Bread Pudding |
This recipe came from my grandmother, Patsy Smith. She loved making this recipe, and we all loved eating it! I've always thought of this pudding as a perfect "winter" dessert because it's delicious served warm. |
Ingredients |
4 cups soft bread crumbs 2 cups milk, scalded with 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg 1/2 cup seedless golden raisins |
Preparation |
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place bread crumbs in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Blend in remaining ingredients. Place baking dish in a pan of hot water (1 inch deep). Bake 40-50 minutes or until knife inserted into pudding edge comes out clean. |
