Name analysis (Filipino Dubbed) Buku is half of a Japanese expression (Bukubuku) which means "fat". (Japanese) Ho-ru-su becomes "Horse" supposedly. Although it could also be related to "Hose" and "House" and "Horus"... makes little sense. However, Mr. Tonomura says that the name comes from a certain breed of cows called "Holstein-Fressian" which is rather popular in Japan.
