Goo Goo Dolls in Detroit!

May 28, 2002- I had heard that the Goo Goo Dolls would be signing autographs in Birmingham before the show. So, naturally, I wanted to go check it out. Lindsay said she would come with me, since I'm her favorite cousin (haha, right, Linds???). So, I picked her up, and we cruised on over to Birmingham!

Toes and the 'Bug

We got to the signing about an hour early, and of course there was already a line! After waiting, the band finally appeared, and the line began to move!

The band was shaking hands with everybody that was going through the line. Naturally, I wanted to be different, so I asked Robby if we could rub elbows instead. He was like, "how come?" and I was like, "I want to say I rubbed elbows with the Goo Goo Dolls!" He laughed and said I was funny! I love making people laugh!!!

After Robby came John and Mike. John was like, "cool, cool... rubbin' elbows!" Mike kinda just smiled... haha, wonder what he was thinkin'!

Later on that day, Jenbo, Michelle, and I went to the Goo Goo Dolls show at the State Theatre. Our tickets were for the main floor, so we managed to get pretty close. The band sounded AWESOME! Even Jenbo remarked that it was one of the best concerts she's been to... and she would know! Yay for the Goo Goo Dolls!

Random Story- I left my camera at home for this show. I already had pics from earlier, so why risk it, y'know? So anyways, I'm at the show, and EVERYBODY around me had their cameras. Suddenly, I find myself being confronted by a security guard... he wanted my camera! I told him I didn't have one, and he didn't believe me! Finally, he SEARCHED me in front of the entire crowd! He didn't find a camera *duh* AND I started crying! At least the show was good!

Overall, my first encounter with the Goo Goo Dolls was pretty good, and they gave a kick-ass show!!!
