In this rough guide I'll mainly be concerning myself with playing over a network or the Internet. This is because all the single player missions are so damn easy, if you carn't do them after a few tries, you shouldn't own a copy of the game (except for the GDI mission where you have to recapture Hammerfest), and that goes for Firestorm as well!
If you do have problems completing any single player levels, don't hesitate to contact me through
FEED BACK and I'll do my best to explain how to do them. Now here are a few multiplayer tactics that form the basis of games over the Internet, and a few sneaky ones added for fun
Engineer Rushing
- this is often the quickest way to win, and used to be the most common, though it has seen a dramatic decline since 'Multi engineer' option was introduced. Basically you build a power plant, barracks, 4 or 5 engineers and then a tib refinery. Whilst you are waiting for the engineers to build, scout the enemy base with your starting forces, and thin out their anti-infantry units. Then taking all your remaining forces and the engineers, run straight into there base, going for their command centre, then barracks then tib refineries or war factory if they have one. This tactic can be used later in the game using APCs to transport the lethal cargo.Cancerous Growth
- normally used as part of an engineer rush; this can turn a financially crippling attack into a game winning one. Basically before you take a building you have a barracks ready built and an almost complete engineer on hold. As you take a building, plonk down the barracks, make it primary and finish the engineer, taking another building. Then churn out engineers, light infantry, or my personal favourite, disc throwers. There are many variations on this tactic, having a commando ready built instead of an engineer is a common one (cyborg commandos rock at this!). Using a ready built obelisk instead of a barracks can be fatal, as anything that survives the engineers eats red-hot laser. If you already have an EMP cannon ready charged, try using one of these instead of a barracks, it'll dramatically improve the chances of your engineers surviving in a tower/tank defended base, and can paralyse all resistance if your assaulting the base with other troops as well. Once you have built your initial building, it's wise to start building either another barracks or defence tower straight away, you never know what the enemies got up there sleeve! And remember, always make sure that you have enough funds and power to support the attack!Bomber Rushing
- there is little defence against air units, and nothing to dull their power. 5 orca bombers or banshees are enough to take out any building. As soon as you have enough of these babies, plus a few to account for casualties, go straight for their command centre, ignore any defences, but try to go round if all their SAM sites are at the front of the base. If you are playing on tech level 9 or lower you are now free the blow up their buildings at your leisure. If its set to tech level 10 go for their weapons factory, so they cannot rebuild their MCV. Try to make your attack a surprise so they have less chance to prepare, the first thing the opponent should see of your squadron is there afterburners as they come in for a dive bomb (this can be done with stealthing, or sub bases). Beware the GDI player who plays tech level 8 games against nod, they'll be able to build orca bombers but you wont be able to build banshees, and you wont be able to rebuild the command centre!Wounded Animal Syndrome
- this only really works if your nod playing against GDI. Build an EMP cannon in stealth, away from your main base (for best effect, make this the only stealthed thing), so no one will even consider it being there. Now watch your opponent build up their forces. While this is happening, build up your own subterranean/stealthed force. Also be building rocket men and a few devils tongues that look as if they would get battered by your opponents attack force. Also make sure you have good air defence. This may sound like a lot but it's really not that hard to do. Now start sending messages to your opponent saying how their gonna batter you, and there's no way your gonna survive. As soon as they attack, full of confidence, your ready to strike. When they get in range of your EMP, and close enough to your base, freeze as many vehicles as you can. Now use the devils tongues to take out the infantry, and the rocket launchers to take out any vehicles. Don't get too worried about vehicles coming out of EMP, you should be able to deal with them by then. Once you're confident the defence force can crush the attack by them selves, take in your own attack force for a game winning strike!Baby Games
- in tournament play these can really boost your rank. Create a random map with two players, and small. Make sure the starting places are as close together as possible. Now save this as 'Random Map'. Play it through a few times against the computer to familiarise your self with it. When playing on the Internet with that map it should look like you just created it! Now put the cash down to 2500, 1 starting unit and creates off. This doesn't allow you to build defences or engineer rush as you need cash for the tib refinery- or so your opponent will think! Once you've built a barracks, before you've built a refinery, build a load of engineers and mini gunner support. Extra cash can be obtained from selling your MCV. Now take out your opponent's meagre defence and take every last one of his buildings- most opponents give up as soon as they see this assault coming (a dishonest trick I know, but good)!General tactics to consider:

I'll update this page every month or so as I see other people's tactics or come up with more of my own
