| Dumbledore's Diamond By Molly |
| Harry Potter was in his 7th year at Hogwarts, and tommorrow was his graduation. It was to bad, because Dumbledore was a bit sick, nothing serious. When he was in the Great Hall eating breakfast with Ron Hermione, when Professor McGonagall raced in and said to the other teachers "The Diamond! The Diamond is breaking!" All the teachers rushed up and ran into another room and closed the door. The prefects were telling everyone to stay calm. "Oh no! I hope they're not talking about Dumbledore!" Harry and Hermione both said, "what the heck do they mean by 'the diamond is breaking!'" "Oh, you're from muggle familys, guess you wouldn't know, but its awful, just-" "Tell us!" cried Harry. "Ok, Ok," said Ron. "When a witch or wizard is born, they get a diamond and it gets put in the Ministry of Magic Life Department. When a diamond is breaking, it means the wizard is dying." At dinner that night, all the students were told the sad news that yes, Dumbledore was dying. Then Professor McGonagall told Harry Dumbledore wanted to him, so they aparted to the hospital he was in, The Broken Wand Hospital. They got to Albus Dumbledore's room, and to Harry's surprise, he looked fine. "Hello Harry, hello. How is the weather? Haven't been outside in weeks. Though, it looks rather windy. Do you think a storm in coming?" "Why did you want to see me Dumbledore?" "To warn you" "What about" "Voldemort. He is afraid of you because you have nearly defeated him so many times. But he has gained strength, as he knew he would when you were truly old enough to fight. He will be back. He will rise again, and he wants you defeated." Harry started crying. "Dumbledore, don't spend your last days worrying about me! I'll be fine. But what about you? They say your diamond is nearly in pieces." "Aaah, Harry young Harry. Don't you feel old since you are graduating tomorrow?" "Yes." "Harry you are not old. You are young, and life can be short. Life is a gift, Harry. You must accept it. I have lived my life, don't be sad about my leaving. Just live your life to the fullest, no matter how you die, don't waist the life you have." Harry still was crying. "Remember, Harry," Dumbledore continued. "In your first year at Hogwarts, I told you that death is life's next great adventure." Then the nurse came in and said. "I'm sorry Mr. Potter, were going to have to ask you to leave." "Goodbye Dumbledore, and thank you." But after he said those words, Harry knew Albus Dumbledore's diamond had shattered. |
