Eulogy   for   Kim

(Note, Kim is my best friend and she is alive and well today.  We wrote eulogies for each other on the phone one night and I decided to put mine up here.  Also note, that I was not wishing that she was dead when I wrote it.  I merely wrote it to show her what she means to me.)

She was a great friend,
always wanting my Bud-Lite.
Whenever I was down,
always washing away my plight

What can I say about Kim?
No more than you could say
about the life of your best friend.
No longer is the saying true,
"Only the good die young in the end."

She'd always turn a rainy day around
and the sun would shine.
She was never selfish.
Things were ours, not 'mine'.

She came to me with her problems,
most of them about boys.
And then when she was giddy,
she'd spread to me her joys.

Even though she wasn't always
the brightest star in the sky,
my love for her will reign supreme
Whether we're dead or alive.

Have you ever had the kind of friend
who'd always lend a helping hand?
That's the kind of friend she was,
the best kind in the land.

Sitting here to write my thoughts
down in this eulogy,
I sit and think to myself,
and know that you'll agree;
Kim is the best kind of friend
that was/will ever be.

So what can I say about my best friend,
now that she's deceased?
I know that I can always say
that my love has increased.
