What is Sexual Assault?
The Criminal Code of Canada defines Assault as:
without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly;
A person commits assault when:
he attempts or threatens, by act or gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has present ability to effect his purpose; or causes that other person to believe upon reasonable grounds that he has present ability to effect his purpose;
while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes abother person or begs.

Below will be basic summaries of these crimes as they are written in the Criminal Code of Canada.
Section 271 - Sexual Assault
Someone touches you, directly or indirectly, in a sexual way on purpose, without your consent
Section 272 - Sexual Assault with a Weapon, Threats to a Third Party, or Causing Bodily Harm
Someone sexually assaults you and uses, or is armed with a weapon. Or they force you to have sex by threatening an injury to someone else, or they injure you.
Section 273 - Aggravated Sexual Assault
When someone sexually assaults you and causes serious injury to you.
Section 151 - Sexual Interference
If you are under 14 and someone directly or indirectly touches your body with a sexual purpose with any part of their body, or any object.
Section 152 - Invitation to Sexual Touching
If you are under 14 and you are invited, councelled, or incited to touch, directly or indirectly, with a sexual purpose, their body, the body of someone else, or your body, with a part of your body or any object.
Section 153 - Sexual Exploitation
If you are over 14 but under 18 years of age, it is illegal for someone in a postion of trust (Teacher, Minister, Coach, Employer, etc.) to have sexual contact with you, even if you consent.
Section 153.1 - Sexual Exploitation if a Person with a Disability
No matter what your age, if you are mentally or physically challenged, it is a criminal offence for someone to invite, counsel or incite you to touch, directly or indirectly, with a sexual purpose, their body, your body or anothers body, with a part of your body or another object, if the offender is in a position of trust or if you are dependant on the offender.
Under the Criminal Code of Canada, "Consent is defined as a voluntary agreement of the complainant to engage in the sexual activity in question."
Sexual Assault is the legal term used through out Canada to refer to any form of sexual contact without consent.
Under Canadian law, a person can be convicted of sexual assault if he or she:
coerces a person into unwanted sexual activity using threats
uses their authority to force someone into sexual activity by threatening that persons job or grades
gets a person drunk or stoned to the point where they cannot make decisions and takes advantage of them
engages in sexual activity (touching, fondling, kissing, indressing, or intercourse) with someone who is know to be unconscious
engages in sexual activity with someone who is under the legal age of consent
engages in sexual activity with someone who is unable to legally consent due to a disability.
