Most sexual assaults are commited by someone the victim already knows, such as a date, a boyfriend/girlfriend, acquaintance, date, or family member. These are people you know and trust. You would not expect them to assault you. Only a small percentage of sexual assaults are commited by strangers.
You should be able to do what you wish and feel safe, but the reality is that you have to be careful. Generally speaking, you can reduce the risk of sexual assault by taking extra care when you find yourself in risky situations. For example at raves and parties take caution when using alcohol and drugs. |
