For half the year the sickly sun is seen
The other half thick nite lies on the land
A country bleaker than the polar strand
No beasts, no brooks, nor any shred of green.
There never was a horror which surpassed
This icy suns cold cruelty, and this vast
Nite like primeval chaos; Would I were
Like the dumb brutes, who in a secret lair

Who am I to think of this?
My mind could make a hell of seeming bliss
Even at the moment when upon my lips is placed a kiss
How could I? Why would I ever doubt this?
From what thought do I derive my fictitious power?
How could I offend my own flower?!!?
I can feel my own eyes fixed upon me in a stern glower
Incredulous, I too am untrusted and imprisoned in my own tall tower
There I must learn, or I must DIE
Wet the floor with my tears as I cry
My flower would ask why?

the black tears on my pillow do not tell you of the hate and sadness in the world
the many blankets on a bed do not show you the coldness
the scars do not show you the pain or the suffering
the bruises do not show you the abouse
there eyes dont show you there sadness
there hands dont show you there faith
