Craig Fairbrass a.k.a DI Frank Burkin appeared in both Prime Suspect and Prime Suspect 2, produced by Granada.
It was mainly screened in the U.S (unfortuantly) but has a few minor screenings years ago in the U.K.

DCI Jane Tennison(played by Helen Mirren) has always been passed
when someone is needed to head a murder investigation.
But this time 1 of the other DCI's leading a murder investtigation
has a heart attack before he's about to charge the Prime Suspect
and Jane quickly steps in to take his place.

Unluckily for her the the murder team she takes over running
don't like having a new leading and are hostile to her.
The men upstairs want to muck up her investigation,her obsession with her new case
interferes with her personal relationships, and the prime suspect is
proving hard to catch.

DCI Tennison and her squad have alot of work ahead of them ,
searching through confessions,computer data; arrests, and no end of police chases. But who is the killer?
