Pressed Flower Stationery Stationery Paper-Desired Color Small Pressed Flowers Scissors White Glue/Water Mixture & PaintBrush Tweezers Envelopes-Desired Color Ribbon (Optional) 1.Cut and arrange the flowers on the paper as desired. Using the paint brush, coat the back of the flowers completely with a one to one mixture of the white glue and water that has been mixed well. Place the flowers in the desired places, using the tweezers, if necessary. Carefully coat the top of the flowers only sparingly, with the glue and water mixture. 2.Let the arrangements dry and match the paper with the envelopes and wrap the packet with a ribbon, if desired. Variation: Strips of double stick tape can be applied down the sides or along the top or bottom of stationery paper and tiny dried flowers can be sprinkled on top to give the stationery a special touch. |
Leaf Printing Collect a variety of fresh leaves Acrylic paints Paint brushes Paper Rolling pin Begin by carefully painting the preferred side of a fresh leaf and place on the paper. Cover the leaf with another piece of paper and roll over it with the rolling pin to make the print. Be sure not to move the sheets of paper, as this will ruin the print. If you find your sheets are slipping, weight down the edges. Gently peel back the top sheet and lift the leaf very carefully. Set the painted paper aside to dry. Some leaves may be used more than once. This is an easy and attractive method of creating your own designs for stationary or homemade wrapping paper. |
Beaded Bookmarks Cut a length of ribbon one and half times the length of the book. Tie a knot about 2 inches from the end, slide a bead down to the knot, and tie another knot after the bead. Then for the bottom portion, tie a knot about four inches from bottom, attach decorative beads, buttons, crystals or stones, and tie another knot. You can also attach a tassel. To prevent fraying, dip ends of ribbon in melted wax. |
