Herbal sachets, or charms, consist of herbs and other materials tied-up in bits of cloth. Some sachets ward off certain energies or disease; others draw specific situations or powers to you. Easy to make and pleasing to the nose, sachets are a distinctive and aromatic gift for the holidays.
Items needed:
7 parts Juniper
4 parts Cinnamon
4 parts Allspice
4 parts Ginger
4 parts Caraway
2 parts Nutmeg
2 parts Rosemary
2 parts Lemon peel
2 parts Orange peel
1 part Clove
1 part Bay
2 pinches Orris root
Tie up in a green or red cloth and give as a gift on Yule or Christmas.

You will need:
an even number of miniture terra cotta flower pots, 1 jingle bell for each pot, 1 yard 1/4 inch ribbon or cording for each pair of pots, craft paint, paintbrushes, and holiday stickers. Paint the pots in holiday colors. Use theme related designs if you wish, or apply stickers. Set aside. Gather the lengths of ribbon or cord together in your hand. Pull the ends out from the center a bit so they appear to be different lengths, then fold the bundle cords in half. Tie an overhand know about two inches from the fold. Hold a pot in your hand and thread the cord through the drainage hold, then through the top of a jingle bell. Knot the cord to hold the bell in place. Tie another knot about one inch away from the bell to hold the position of the pot. Repeat the process with each cord end until all the pots and bells are securely fastened. Hang the bells on the front door.
You will need:
1 paper plate, construction paper, glue, scissors, pencil, yarn, and ribbon. Place your hand palm down on a sheet of construction paper (spread fingers and thumb). Trace around it with the pencil and cut out the shape. Place the shape on the edge of the plate and mark its edges lightly with a pencil. Reposition the shape at the last mark, then mark the opposite edge. Continue around the plate in this manner to determine how many hands you'll need to complete the wreath. Use the shape as a pattern and place it on the paper. Trace around it and cut out the required number of hands. Glue the hands to the edge of the paper plate, then cut away its center. With the ribbon, create a bow and secure to the top center of the paper plate. Glue a loop of yarn to the back of the wreath for hanging.
Grind 1/2 Cup lentils in coffee mill or blender till fine.
Grind 1/2 Cup almonds till med. coarse.
Mix Peppermint essential oil with 1/2 cup almond oil & add Sea Salt till blended and add lentils and almonds.
It's very refreshing and easy to make. Makes great gifts!

1 cup epsom salts
1/4 cup kosher or sea salt
Food coloring
Essential Oils (such as peppermint, coconut, lavender, etc.)
Instructions:
Mix together the epsom salts and/or kosher, sea salt. Add a few drops of
your favorite food coloring and stir well to blend. Add a few drops of the
essential oils. Pour the salts into a container with a lid or resoluble
plastic bag and close tightly. Add about 1/4 cup to your bath, under
running water. Place in a pretty jar or bottle with a ribbon and you have a
great, inexpensive gift

Recipe #1.......
2 cups juniper berries (cedar or balsam needles)
1 cup peppermint leaves
1 cup winter berry leaves
1/4 cup spearmint leaves
1 tsp. allspice
3/4 tbs. orrisroot
3 drops eucalyptus oil, optional

1/2 cup geranium leaves
1/2 cup lemon verbena
1/2 cup dried lilacs
2 cup rose petals
1/2 tsp. orrisroot
Recipe #3........
2 cups rose petals
1 cup sweet lavender
1/4 cup basil
1 vanilla bean
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. orrisroot
Mix all ingredients together in a covered jar. Let
is set for a week or so before making into
sachets.

Both of these ingredients can be picked up at any good quality craft
store. I would ask a sales person to help you choose the best quality
glitter that can be found. Mix and store in Jar, use on shoulders, chest,
arms. Anywhere you would like a special glow.

TREE ORNAMENTS: Cut plastic wrap into 6-inch squares. Gather corners and twist tightly. Secure with pipe cleaner. Cluster individual balls into one large one, connecting each ball with the adjoining pipe cleaner. Tie "curling" ribbon around the cluster to form a loop at the tops. Tie two10-inch strands of ribbon at the bottom and curl. Hang on the tree with the loop ends.
1 cup cinnamon,
3/4 cup applesauce,
1/4 cup white school glue
Mix ingredients together, roll out on a lightly floured surface. Cut out with cookie cutters. Punch a hole in the top of each oramnet with a drinking straw. Dry for at least 48 hours. Tie a string or a ribbon through the hole, and hang on the tree. Do not eat!
