Setouchi Osafune's Japanese taiko team, Meito Daiko, (Managed by Mr. Ienao
Takahara) will be guest performers at the 26th Pan Pacific Festival (hosted
by an organizing committee including the Hawaiian State Government) which
is to be held for three days from the 10th [of June, 2005] in Oahu, Hawaii.
A powerful performance is expected from their live drumming, with members
stating that they "want to provide rhythms that will get the hearts
of he South Pacific locals dancing."
Meito Daiko is attending for the second year in a row, their 7th Hawaiian
perfomance to date. This year, seven members have been chosen to perform
five of their best pieces, including "Choushi Hayauchi", "Yatai
Bayashi" and "Buchiawase" at such locations as Honolulu's
main street, Kalakaua Avenue, and the Ala Moana Shopping Center. |
