Why do we Prepare the Rocket Festival?
Traditionally, rocket festival is the sixth month ceremony that Lao people believe for many generation.
It is very important event that we could not abandon since the early period of time. It is also the symbol of unity and friendship to fight against the dry weather, requesting for rain. Eventhough, the belief on the god of rain is less at the present period of time, but Lao continuously respect and continue to prepare the rocket festival as one significant activities before the season rice cultivation. In addition to the rockets preparation, some Buddhist ceremonies such as: offerings, water the old monks to promote the rank and Buddha imagaes are also performed at the same events.

Rocket History
There were two stories. Even though these are differently recited, but the main contents are the same. One of the stories is titled PhraNha Khankhank, King of the toad and another is ThaoPhadeng-Nang Ai.
