A Last Look Around

This page has 10 photos, so it may load slowly.

Upstairs:

My back ordered fan blades finally came in for the master bedroom.  This room faces south and has a number of different vaulted pitches that follow the roof construction.  The different pitches were required to comply with Boulder solar shadow restrictions.

The master bedroom has a south and east facing deck that we hope to use for summertime morning paper and coffee.

The front bedroom gets lots of morning sun and stays toasty with the extra baseboard heating segments.  This will be our guest room.  (I haven't painted the trim corner blocks yet.)

A loft area at the top of the stairs should make a cozy reading/library area once we add a couch and bookshelves.

The west bedroom has nice views of the foothills.

Although the staircase balusters are complete, I have not yet painted the stair risers or newel posts.

Downstairs:

French doors enter in the office off the main entrance to the house.  The office is also turret shaped, just like the room above.

The dining room fixtures are tied up high until we get the table in place.  One design feature important to us was to place the dining room to catch morning light.  Breakfast is much more in need of sunlight than supper.

The living room has been my trim cutting workshop for the last few weeks.

Last shot:  we can't wait to cook our first dinner in the kitchen.

Thanks for watching our house building progress.  I hope you have enjoyed watching even a tenth as much as I have enjoyed doing it.  If you have not yet had a real-life tour, feel free to shoot me an email - I'd be happy to show you around . . . Send Mitch an email
