Siding complete, A/C started, electrical continues
Lately, I have been wearing the hat of a General Contractor (with my other hats), using subs for some of the specialized work that remains.
The siding crew finishes and I spend a day cleaning up the yard and hauling scrap to the dump. The painter will do test colors on Monday Oct 2 and will start masking/priming on Tuesday. We are going to use a tan-white for the main body with rose and green highlights. We try to stick with somewhat traditional Victorian colors.
Inside, the air conditioning crew hangs the air exchanger in the attic and runs some insulated ductwork for the second floor supply and return vents. The heating crew occasionally shows up to continue the heating rough-in. The plumber is scheduled to start plumbing rough in on Monday, Oct 9th.
I have about 1 1/2 weeks of "back framing" to complete also. This includes closet walls, nailers for the sheet rockers, vaulted ceiling transitions, ductwork chases, bathroom tub walls, dropped ceilings, door frames, etc. I am shooting for a flurry of inspections late in the month, so the sheet rock crew can start in early November.
When I can find the time, I continue doing electrical, finishing the wiring for recessed cans in the porch ceiling. I need this done so I can get a partial framing and electrical inspection for the porch and get the ceiling buttoned up for the painter to shoot.
