Insulation and electric cutover
The exterior painting is completed and the final back framing and sheer walls are also done.
RG Insulation sends over a few guys for 3 days. They foam all the holes between floors and pack fiberglass insulation into every nook and cranny. We use R-38 in the ceilings, R-19 in the walls, and R-11 in interior walls and ceilings for sound deadening. R-30 goes into the rim joists in the crawlspace. Insulation is one of those jobs that is inexpensive to sub-out and so unhealthy to do yourself.
The house is now ready for the sheet rockers.
The local utility company drops by to disconnect my temporary electric pole and hook up the house meter and panels. I wire up a circuit inside the house so I have at least one plug to use. I will keep all the other circuits dead until the sheet rockers are done zipping screws into the walls.
The third tub arrives and we complete the rough plumbing for it. The tub is a modern acrylic tub which is made in the style of a traditional slipper clawfoot - perfect for a Victorian.
