Strong Walls for a Windy City

Boulder is known for its high winds (record gust is 147MPH).  Our main garage door portals use special prebuilt Simpson Strong Walls which incorporate steel tensioning and embedded tie downs for strong wind resistance.  Since the north wall of the garage is mostly overhead door, we needed this extra strength for the small wall sections.

The other three walls of the garage are being erected with conventional 2 X 4 construction.
