Central Christchurch
On an afternoon walking tour of the city, we passed the Oxford style Arts Centre, the Christchurch museum of Maori and European culture. Then the statue of Scott, sculpted by his wife, hence the lipstick. People relaxing in the January summer on the banks of the river Avon.

New Brighton Sunsets
One evening I cycled out to New Brighton and walked down the pier. It has replaced the original only a few years ago which brass plaques on several planks denoting the donors.

Christchurch Harbour
On another cycling tour, I found Christchurch Harbour with "Shag Rock" the prominent stack part way across the narrow entrance to the tide-dependant harbour.
