A Perfect Day
Itsuka Yamasaki
Let us talk about nothing today,
For it is such a perfect day.
Together sitting on a wooden bench,
You gently open my fist that I clench.
River flows slowly in front of us, two,
With ducks cutting through it in a queue,
With glimmering light as white as fleece,
I would say that this is peace.
I have run all the way through my life,
Solitary, despair, agony, strife,
I have borne, I have seen,
To a true shelter I had never been.
But like a comet you came suddenly,
In front of me, wandering hopelessly,
A beam of hope you cast on me,
Pointing the place where I should be.
Let us talk about nothing today,
For it is such a perfect day,
The summer wind softly touches my nose,
The flowery bush is quiet; in a brilliant pose.
- What a perfect day today!
So
Let us not talk about past,
Let us not talk about wars,
Let us not talk about tears,
Let us not talk about our fears.
Let us talk about nothing.
Just let us sit and listen to this amazing harmony,
The harmony of this perfect day.
