About Me

Welcome to the page about me. I don't know why'd you wanna learn about me, but thanks for checking this out! Hmmm... where to begin.... Well, first off my name is Melissa. You may have figured that out by now if you've been looking at my webpage. My biggest goal in life is to be an animator. Naturally, I'd love to work for Disney Feature Animation, but I also would be very honored to work for Fox Feature Animation or Dreamworks. I like heroines the best, but also enjoy heroes and villains. I guess my fave animated characters would be the Wicked Queen from Snow White, Scar (The Lion King), Pocahontas, Dimitri (Anastasia), Jasmine, and Aladdin.

I am a self-confessed band geek. I play the flute and piccolo. I love marching band, but I also enjoy playing in Conert Bands and Orchestras. Right now I'm in the Grand Valley State University Marching Band and the GVSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Next year I will be the music sectionleader in marching band (Ow! Ow! go me!)

I really enjoy L.M. Montgomery's books especially the Anne of Green Gables books and Emily series. I also like Little Women and other similar novels. Natalie Babbit is one of my favorite authors. Tuck Everlasting is probably her most famous work. My favorite is perhaps The Eyes of the Amaryllis or The Search for Delicious.

I like Star Trek a lot. The Next Generation is my favorite ST series. Data would have to be my favorite character. Q probably would be if he were a regular on the show. I also enjpy the Crushers-- both Wesley and Beverly. Picard is definitely the best ST captain... certainly better than Kirk.

I am a lacto-ovo-vegetarian. "Huh?" That mean's I eat eggs and dairy but I do not eat any dead animals. Why did I quit eating meat, you ask? Well, because of Jurassic Park. That's a funny story, right, Bethy? But really that is why... sorta.

I like to listen to music. I listen to a lot of classical. I enjoy swing too. I like Jewel and Dave Matthews Band a lot. I also like Gaelic Storm-- they're the third class band in Titanic, but they're stuff is so much better than anything heard in the movie. I love musicals. Les Miserables, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and West Side Story are my faves. I would advise anyone going to New York City to see Scarlet Pimpernel on Broadway if it's still around and to steer clear of Bring in Da Noise Bring in Da Funk. The best thing about that musical is the title.
