The "First Mate" Bunk

The "First Mate Bunk" with its two huge drawers, the size of four, can be made in any width size, 30" cot or 39" twin.  The most popular being the 30" size which saves much more floor space with multiple beds in the room.  You can build any style headboard and fence to go with the decor of the room.  The plans show two types of fences and headboards for boys or girls.  One could tie a baby fence/guard onto the mattress and the child could use the bed through the college years.  The bed could even extend the 30" to a twin at any time by simply adding an extension of 8" lumber off the back, top and sides.
