ANDREW GRIMM

Andrew Grimm is a forest creature as much as he is anything.   Born in a small dale of elves Andrew was always strolling off into the forest for days at a time even at a very young age.   The forest was a comfort and an escape.   Simply sitting in the forest with his eyes closed Andrew could feel the trees and animals all around him and almost understand the subtle music of the wilds.

Andrew is a slim elf with a quick and fluid motion that makes him almost seem to float along.    His dark hair is worn shoulder length and his eyes are a very dark brown. He has a steady gaze and a quick smile.

After spending most of his life in the forests away from home and family Andrew started to sense some things in the forest which truly grabbed his attention.  They seemed to be trails and man-made groves and such but he could never really say.  He began following the trails as best he could and spent many days walking in circles and backtracking until one day he stepped though a dense thicket and was standing face to face with a man dressed in forest colors.  Intruiged the druid asked how the young elf had found him.   Andrew told him the way the forest had seemed to show him the way.   And so began Andrew's druidic training.  He learned all the ways rituals of the druids. After many years another secret was revealed to Andrew.   Druid magic.

He fell into his studies even harder if that was possible and became quite a talented spell caster.  Many long and happy years were spent thus.  After finding his talent and his teacher he became much more sociable and now enjoys the company of others a great deal.

One such group is Kalban Nightwalker and his family, Aami his wife and Crystal their daughter.  On one of his journeys Andrew was captivated by a wonderful aroma and followed it to a camp where he was greeted somewhat suspiciously by the occupants.  Not recognizing them from the area he introduced himself.  His quick easy manner and genuine concern for them and their safety in this area known for goblins eased the couple's minds and they invited him for dinner.  After a casual meal (which was the best Andrew had tasted in a long while) the couple confided that they were planning to reestablish a home in the area --- a home that they had occupied many years ago, but which had been vacant for decades.

Andrew has visited often over the years and has helped out whenever he could, in return the couple has helped him control the number of monsters in the area.  One of Andrew's great joys came from one of his greatest sorrows:  about 20 years ago, while Kalban was away from his home, Aami was abducted and subsequently raped by the son of the old Duke of Athring, Velluth, who has since become Duke himself.  Months later, Crystal was born.  Andrew has always felt he was somehow responsible for Aami's terrible experience, although there was no way he could even have known what was happening.  Crystal, who was subsequently accepted as a daughter by Kalban, has always been a special favorite of Andrew's and one of his major sources of joy has been seeing her grow into the young elven girl she is today.

Andrew is a traveller.  He generally stays to the forests and trails but has spent some time among the cities of Melfis.  Too busy and artificial for him he spends as little time as possible in these areas.   He makes a little coin gathering and selling herbs and mushrooms to the small villages in the area and the small communities are thankful to have him around.   Andrew loves life and works to thwart anyone who hurts the land purposely.  Andrew has many other friends that he visits regularly in his travels.  He is devout in his prayers and Najela (or Sarr, as the Goddess is called in Elvish) looks kindly upon his efforts in her name.
