Jeff noticed the look but he didn't return it. Hank was coming home.
He had to end things with Sarah. If Hank found out he would never
forgive him. Every time he wanted to tell her though they would end
up kissing like yesterday behind the clothesline. But today was the
day. He was just going to make it short and simple. That Hank loved
her and the only reason they got together in the first place was for
Hank.

"Hank. Hank. Hank. Ginger I'm glad he's coming home but that's all
Mom and Jeff ever talk about. I mean mom didn't even know what to say
to me when I read about Mike."
"Linda stop worrying about your mom." She handed Linda another glass.
"I think we've had too much already." Linda remarked as she looked at
the glass.

"Says you. You know what I'm going to do?"

"What" Linda answered.

"I'm going to go and greet Mr. Hailey with a punch in the kisser."

"Sarah we have to end this. I mean Hank's coming home today and we
keep doing what we'er doing behind their backs."
"I know"
Neither of them could look each other in the eye.
"I'm sorry Sarah, but this is the way it's got to be." He managed to
gulp out before taking off through the park.
He said all the he planned to,  the only thing he didn't plan was it
hurting so much.

"Hello I'm Mrs. Charlie Hailey." Caroline retorted extending an icy
hand out to Ginger to match her smile.
Charlie winced. He really wanted to tell Ginger about Caroline in
person but he just couldn't face her.
"Virginia Szabo, former fiance of your husband." She turned to
Charlie stumbling. He grabbed her arm.
"Ginny have you been drinking?"
"I may have had a sip or two or three." She giggled.
"Here let me drive you back home." He started leading her to his car.
"Charlie! You don't help people you used to be engaged with,
especially in front of your wife!" Caroline screamed. For the life of
her she  could never get used to Americans.
"Caroline, it's an American custom to help people who are about to
pass out in someone's yard." Charlie complained.
"I don't need your help buster! In fact I'm perfectly swell.
S-W-E-E-L-L, swell. See I can spell it too and I can also do this!"
She kicked him in the cobblers.
"G-in!" Charlie whined trying to gain composure from where she kicked
him.
"What's going on?"
"Hank!" Anne ignored the commotion with Charlie and ran out to greet
Hank who just stepped out of the cab. Ginger could have shot Charlie
in the heart and she wouldn't have noticed at that moment.

Hank was glad to be home but would have never guess to find Jeff
pulling a drunk Ginger off of Charlie who was still sprawled on the
grass clutching his J. Arthur.

"Plese don't tell me this is my coming home party."
