I am an avid reader with an active imagination and was unable to resist the temptation to continue with his work. This story is primarily written by me but with aid from Solar/Wolfbyte so forgive me if this story is rather patchy and incomplete. This also mainly an introduction for my new character and so don't be surprised if it isn't very complex. _______________________________________________________________ Chapter 11: Melvik smiled as he strolled the ship. He had gotten his revenge against the human who had killed his son. He had lost a few soldiers in the process but Melvik had been prepared to sacrifice his ship to destroy that human, though he would never tell his crew that. "So what if a few of the lower breed soldiers had been killed" he thought, "it just culled us further of the incompetent. We can still conquer this world." The commodore pictured the scene he so relished watching in his mind. Him bursting into the transport room with his troops and finding the green suited human with his white skinned creature. He remembered Doral aiming and firing at the female instead of the male. That had enraged him at the moment and he had been happy to see Doral killed by the console explosion. Then, to his surprise DarkStar jumped in front of the blast, saving the woman but killing himself. He relished the sight of the energy beam gouging out the terran's chest and hearing the person's last, pitiful cry to the girl. Of course the body had flown into the transporter and vanished. With the console smashed there was no way to follow but then no living creature could have survived such damage, if only due to the stress of the matter. Now with the energy drainer gone, there was nothing to stand in the way of the Krell people. Melvik strolled into the shock troop barracks. They had been the troops that had captured the females earlier, they could handle anything the humans threw at them. There body armor had energy dampers which would stop kinetic motion and raw energy blasts. That would leave the humans with nothing to defend themselves with. "Are your troops ready, Troth?" "As ready as we need to be." Troth smiled. He then lifted a giant multi use blaster cannons. "Remember, we want the humans as slaves, so don't kill them all." "That's no fun." "You could have killed a few more today if you had brought up the ones you stunned yesterday.." "I couldn't help leaving them behind. I was lucky to get out of there with the four Scouts." Troth tried to defend himself. "Four Scouts that your troops did an awful job holding." Melvik accused. "They had that new guy, DarkStar, who drains our power suits." Troth cried. "You know what these new defense suits are liked drained. It's like an immovable vice." "That is still not an adequate excuse. You had better bring back plenty of slaves, and if possible recapture those Scouts." Melvik turned to leave. "It will be harder to catch them off guard when we have to use shuttles." Troth mumbled. Then a though struck him "What about Solar? Are we still supposed to execute him if we find him?" "Do what you want to him." Melvik didn't even bother to turn as he walked out the door. As the door closed behind him he finished his thought "I already had all the vengeance I need." * * * * * Jason was awakened by a rustling of the sheets. He opened his eyes and looked at the disturbance. "A crow." Actually a black raven was standing on Raye's side as she lay in the bed. "Now lets see you would be.." Jason closely examined the raven "Phobos?" "CAW." "Okay, sorry Deimos." he apologized to the agitated bird. He yawned "What do you want?" The black bird looked at Raye. "Sorry, she's mine for now. You might be able to get her from me. Later." The bird cawed again and begin to pretend to peck at the sheets. "You're hungry. Well don't expect me to feed you." Jason looked out the window and was surprised to see light. "God, it is morning." The bird continued to caw but Jason ignored it. "I'll let her feed him. They never seemed to like me doing it." The large crow cawed again. "Don't make me tape your beak shut. Smart ass bird." Jason walked into the kitchen, intending on beginning breakfast. "It certainly doesn't feel like morning." Jason poured some water into a pot and was setting it on the stove when he glanced at the clock built into it. He darted into the bedroom. "Two thirty! You know what that light is don't you?" Jason asked the crow perched on Raye. It seemed to nod. Jason threw open the window shade and stared out at what he saw in rage. "Raye, come on. We've got trouble." Raye stirred and sat up, looking at the crow. "Hello, Deimos. What is it, Jason?" Jason stepped aside and let Raye look out the window. She was as horrified as he. "The city is burning." * * * * * Amy mumbled as the telephone rang loudly. "Who would be calling at this time?" She picked up the receiver and pulled it to her ear. "This had better be the medical society calling to confirm my position or I'm hanging up." she said into the phone. "Oh Amy. Wanting to play doctor huh? Well I'm afraid I can't right now." Amy grumbled, "What do you want, Jason?" "To go into space then lead a normal life. Thanks for asking. I called, though, because I thought you might like to know that the city is on fire." Amy jumped out of bed, fully awake. "What!?" "We think it's the Krell but several buildings near the center of town are on fire. I saw what looked like blaster bolts but I'm kind of far." Amy ran to her window and threw open the window. Like Jason had said a few of the buildings near the center of town had flames licking their sides. Then a bright red blast fired up from the street, arcing into the air and hitting the side of another building. "It's them Jason. Call Cameron and Lita. I'll call the others." * * * * * Cameron grunted and sweated from the exertion. This was his fifth time in the last hour he had been doing this. "Aren't you done yet? It's been so long." Lita asked from above him. "I've got another couple of minutes left in me." "But you've kept it up for so long and it looks so hard." "It is hard but I've had plenty of practice." Cameron smiled at her. "Well I can't do this any longer. How about if I get off of you and you can finish with out me?" she asked. Cameron sighed. "We'll both quit. I guess I have had enough for tonight." Cameron lowered himself from his handstand and let Lita hope off of is feet, where she had been balancing while he did his pushups. With his arms free Cameron could now hug his lady love. "Good workout." "It certainly was. Now kiss me." Lita ordered. "As you wish, Pretty Lady." Cameron wrapped his arms around her and pressed his lips to hers. The colored orb formed and lifted the two into the air. "BRRRRIIIIINNNNGGG" the phone rang. Cameron released Lita and the two landed lightly on there feet. "Wouldn't you know it." Cameron picked up the phone. "Yeah." "Cam, the Krell are back and are burning the city." "We'll be right there to help." "Who said we needed help? I just thought you'd like to watch." the voice on the other end teased. "I never cared for just watching. We'll be right there." * * * * * Troth pulled a small catch on the side of his rifle, ejecting the empty battery pack. He reached to his belt and pulled out a second pack, which he slapped into the gun. He aimed the newly charged weapon at one of the buildings and fired. He enjoyed watching the humans scream and run in terror as their buildings burned. The sudden deluge of bodies made it easy for his men to stun them. "This is to easy." Troth thought, switching to a stun setting and firing at a fleeing man. The blast hit him squarely in the back, flinging him several feet. "Tie him." Troth told one his subordinates. "Troth, I want a report." Melvik's voice broke over the speaker in Troth's headset. "Yes, sir." "And turn on your vid-com." Troth grumbled but hit the switch. A small eye piece flipped over his right eye and began whirring. Troth hated the eye sensor cams. They were supposed to feed data to him and send a video to anyone watching. They more often interfered with vision. "Better." Troth turned toward the assortment of human captives the had seized. "As you can see, we have met with little resistance. We have over fifty captured humans. The Scouts unfortunately have not shown up yet." "Oh, yes we have." several voices, mostly feminin, called from behind him. Troth turned in surprise. "They shouldn't be able to sneak up on us. The alarm would go off when they got near." The alarm began to blare through his ear piece, nearly deafening him. "I am Sailor Moon, champion of love and justice, and by the power of the Moon" "Mercury." "Venus." "Mars." "And Jupiter." "We will punish you!" He focused on the scouts, standing in the middle of the street. There were the five female scouts and the one in the fancy dress, called Tuxedo Mask. Leaning against a wall of a nearby building, chatting ideally about the corniest speech that they had ever heard, were the final two. Solar and "DARKSTAR?!" * * * * * "DARKSTAR?!" Melvik cried in surprise and rage. "How can he be alive? Doral cut him open with a full charge pulse laser." Melvik was outraged. This human had somehow defied death and returned to further outrage him. And with his ability to drain the power suits, Melvik realized that his troops stood a good chance to losing this fight. "Troth, destroy that human!" Melvik watched as the barrel of the gun was raised in front of the vid-com lens and fired at the two humans. The pulse launched out at the two males but struck only wall as the two humans disappeared. There was a quick flash of moment and the vid-com went dark. "No." Melvik howled, "How could he be alive?" "He is more resourceful then you gave him credit for, Commodore. Much like his friend Solar." Melvik twirled around at the intrusion of his thoughts. When he found the speaker he was to shocked to even speak. Standing on the bridge of his ship was a being, taller then he with massively out proportioned limbs. They appeared to be mechanical but it was hard for Melvik to tell because all he could see was a darkened silhouette. "Who are you and what are you doing on my ship?" "I will answer the second question first. I am not on your ship, only a hologram of me is standing before you." To prove the point the silhouette reached a darkened hand out toward Melvik's chest. The hand passed right through. "As you can see, no substance." "But as to why I came, I am here to offer you the chance to see that white skinned freak destroyed." "You can do that?" Melvik asked surprised. "Yes. The human is powerful but his power is limited. It is a simple matter to block his power source. Then when he expends his power he is as weak as a kitten." "And you know how to block his power source?" "Yes. I can feed him power or I can block it with equal ease." "And what is your price?" Melvik asked suspiciously. "You will help me to destroy the human named Solar." The being raised one of its massive arms. "He did this to me long ago and I will see him pay. Your men will force him to drain every bit of his power but I will be awarded the final blow." Melvik smiled. "Revenge. A being after my own hearts." he thought. "Agreed. Do you have a plan for draining their powers and draining this DarkStar?" "I do. And it is simple enough that even your empty headed soldiers could do it." Melvik didn't like having his troops insulted but if this person could help him destroy DarkStar then he would let him insult the Queen Mother. "Then tell me." The shadow told Melvik it's plan, Melvik's smile spreading with each passing second. "That is a decent plan but won't that destroy the ship?" "Not if you follow the plan." "We shall. Now, you have yet to answer my first question." "Yes. Who am I." The silhouette reached an arm out of view and tapped something on an invisible keyboard. Suddenly his entire being was visible. "I think that will do for an introduction." The shadow disappeared and Melvik began to relay directions to his troops. _____________________________________________________________________ Don't you just hate smartass birds? I know I do. They always confuse you and try to warn you but never come right out and tell you. Some say that it's because birds can't talk but I don't accept that as a valid excuse. I just can't think of much to say about this chapter so I'll just say READ ON! If you've liked the story up till now then I think you'll like the rest.
