I am an avid reader with an active imagination and was unable to resist the temptation to continue with his work. This story is primarily written by me but with aid from Solar/Wolfbyte so forgive me if this story is rather patchy and incomplete. This also mainly an introduction for my new character and so don't be surprised if it isn't very complex. _______________________________________________________________ Chapter 7: "Remember, you asked for this." Jason shook his head. "Can't Serena come up with a better retort then that?" he wondered. There was still a nagging feeling in the back of his mind. He watched the other scouts begin their charge. He looked at Cameron his old friend then it struck him. "The trees! He's looking at the trees! He was trying to warn us!" "Wait. It's a trap." Suddenly, a dozen Krell troops jumped out of the upper bows of the trees surrounding the Scouts and firing their laser weapons at the Scouts. Raye and Serena were hit immediately, falling into a deep sleep. Amy caught one blast as she dodged a second. Mina jumped away from the blasts, landing next to Jason. "I think we're in trouble." Mina whispered as a dozen laser weapons trained on them. "Sun Fireworks Erupt." Multi colored bursts of light erupted from the ground in front of the Krell covering the disappearance of the two Scouts. Jason and Mina ran back along the path and dove into a group of bushes as a troop of Krell soldiers ran past. Jason stood up and looked at Mina, "Nah. Pissing of Raye is trouble. This is a minor difficulty." "Aren't you ever serious?" Mina asked. "I'm always serious, my dear Venus, I just can't resist a good setup," Jason smiled widely. "I know, I know. Now what are we going to do about the others?" she asked. "My dear Venus, I have no idea." Jason answered. "But they better not try and get between me and Raye." * * * * * Cameron turned to Lita "I think it's time for us to make the scene." She turned to him, confused "What do you mean? "I mean I think it's time to break these bonds." He stared down at the bonds for a moment and then a look of shock spread over his face. "Oh no." "I don't want to hear Oh no right now." Lita said. "I seem to have used up my power reserves. I can't break the bonds." "Then drain the energy out of them and use that." "I can't. I already drained them." "Oh great." Lita rolled her eyes. "Now we're in trouble." "More then you think." the happy Troth taunted as he approached them. Over his shoulder lay an unconscious Sailor Moon. A flash of green and red streaked across Troth's vision and he looked down at the projectile. It was a beautiful red rose sticking out of the ground. "Maybe less then YOU think, Creep." Cameron looked toward the voice at the same time as the giant Krell. Unlike Troth, Cameron smiled. Standing on the tip of the tallest tree was the young man he had seen with Sailor Moon the day before, Darien. "Tuxedo Mask." Lita called. "Be careful." * * * * * The watcher observed the events transpire with growing disdain. "Fools. How could they fall for such a simple trap?" he thought. "I shall have to intervene now." He reached over and began typing commands into his control board with his one good hand, hoping that he was in time. "But maybe this could work to my advantage. Yes. That will work." The watcher smiled, a feat he rarely did anymore. * * * * * "We have what we want. We don't need him." Troth called. "Activate teleporters." As the giant Krell reached for him, Cameron felt a sudden rush of energy, from where he knew not. "Cosmic Prism Power." he shouted. His suit melded around him and he instantly summoned a wormhole beneath him. As he slipped into the hole he reappeared a hundred yards away. With a quick thought he created a second wormhole between his wrists separating the cuffs. "Now to save Lita and the others." he thought, "I still need to get a kiss from her." He summoned a third wormhole and stepped through behind a confused Troth. The large Krell was staring at the spot he had been kneeling at a moment before. "Looking for me, Troth?" he asked. The alien twisted around to look at him. Cameron swung his fist around smashing it into the aliens face. He heard a ruckus behind him and turned to find Darien confronting several of the multi color suited beings with...roses??? "I knew roses could be dangerous but this is ridicules." Cameron looked down at his unconscious companions and the still conscious Lita. He then looked at Darien, who seemed to be in trouble. "I'll be back in a moment, Tux needs some immediate help." He charged. "Dark Energy Blast." he shouted blowing a shot of dark energy at the guns in the Krells' hands. The weapons disintegrated under the power of the blast. "Solar Wind Gust." "Venus Love Chain Encircle." A powerful gust of wind picked up three of the Krell and flung them into the trees. At the same time a long chain of hearts flew around a fourth alien. A quick tug jerked the being to the ground, helpless. Sailor Venus and Solar ran out of the underbrush. "Nice of you two to join the party." "Sorry, we got a little hung up." Jason smiled. "Miss us?" "No. Just wanted someone to insult." Cameron retorted. "Thanks. Now do you mind if we get my wife back?" "Not at all." The four warriors turned to the Krell. "Give it up, Troth, or you will regret it." "I don't think so." he turned to his troops, "Grab the scouts and teleport." "No you don't." The four senshi charged their erstwhile foes...only to find a solid wall between them and the Krell. "What the?" Jason asked, bewildered. "I don't know what happened but I don't mind. Teleport." All the scouts could do was watch their companions disappear. "Serena!" Darien shouted. "Raye!" "Lita!" * * * * * The watcher examined his screens, laughing. "Now you shall suffer." he thought, "But your suffering is no where near over." * * * * * "I can't believe it." Jason fumed, "How could we lose them? I mean, can't they go into one fight with aliens without being kidnapped?" "I really don't think this is a time for jokes, Hothead." Cameron answered back. "Who said I was joking?" "Sometimes, Jason, you can really get on someone's nerves." "Would you two calm down?" Mina interrupted. She was sitting on the couch next to Darien, trying to comfort him. "You aren't helping matters any." "She's right." Both said in unison. Both laughed when the realized it. "This isn't how we were taught." Jason commented. "Well, I wouldn't know. I don't have any memories, still." "Well as I remember we were taught to think with our heads not our hearts." "Although, often, the heart is immensely wiser then head." Cameron countered. "Okay. First, we know that they caught you off guard and captured you." "True. But I should have been able to escape them." Cameron was indignant. "I drained the slave system but it must have canceled some of my strength first." "Didn't your powers grow back." Darien asked. "My powers don't apparently grow back like yours." "You have to spend time in a particular environment, right?" Jason asked. "I can gain strength at night." Cameron shrugged, "I guess the lowered EM radiation from the sun lets in cosmic radiation that fuels me. I don't really know." "Strange." Luna said, "That is almost the exact opposite of Jason's original requirements." "Me Mirror in Jason Mirror." Everyone looked at Jason's glowing crystal. "Not you again." Jason rolled his eyes. "Would you please stop talking archaically long enough to explain yourself." "If You Insist." the crystal glowed. Everyone started at the sudden change in the crystal's demeanor. "I Do Have The Ability To Talk Normal But It Requires More Strength." "Okay." Cameron sighed. "Would you explain 'me mirror in Jason mirror?'" "Your Crystal Is My Mirror Form. It Is My Antithesis. My Opposite. My Other Half." Jason and Cameron looked at each other then down at their crystals. Mina and Darien watched quietly. Luna sat in front of Jason so as not to miss anything the gem said. "You mean that you and my crystal are from the same source?" Cameron asked. "Yes." was the only reply. "But how was Cameron's crystal created and what are it's powers." Luna asked. "Artemis and I" "And me." Jason added. "And me." Darien finished "And Darien and Jason remember those times. None of us have any memories of that crystal." "You Have Memories Of It And Me. We Were Created Together." the yellow crystal around Jason's neck glowed, "When Moon Kingdom Created Sun Pendant They Tapped A Second Energy. It Was Necessary To Tap That Energy To Create The Sun Pendant." "What power was it they tapped?" Cameron asked. "They Tap Darkness." "Darkness?" Cameron thought for a moment. "Deep space. You mean I am powered by the energy of deep space?" "Yes." Jason looked quizzical "You mean you didn't know?" "No." "Then why did you call yourself DarkStar?" "It sounded cool and fit the suit." Cameron smiled. Jason just shook his head. "Why didn't any of us know about this crystal?" Jason asked. "Power Was Unstable. Powerful But Drained Quickly." "That was the same condition that sun pendant had when I first joined with it." Jason said. "Cosmic Crystal Would Not Meld With Person of Any Kingdom." "Wait a minute." Cameron interrupted. "What kingdoms?" "We can't tell you." Artemis answered, "You will have to discover it for yourself." Cameron just muttered something to himself about wondering if any violin shops needed any cat gut. "So, now we know an origin. That still doesn't help us. We have no way of recovering the other Scouts without a transport device and Amy had our only one." "Is Way." the crystal answered. "There is?" All the men jumped up, excited. "How?" "Cosmic Crystal Transport." "Me?" Cameron slumped. "I can't. I don't have the power." "Combine Your Strengths." "What?" Jason asked. "What does that mean?" But the crystal didn't answer. "Now you know why I find it annoying. Always gives more mysteries then it answers." "Okay. Does anyone have any idea what that meant? Combine your strengths." "Maybe it means like a sharing of our powers." Mina suggested. "I don't think that will work." Luna spoke up, "If the powers are anything like Jason's then you can't share power with him and he can't share power with you." Jason snapped his fingers "That's it!" When he realized everyone was staring at him quizzically he continued "My powers. They ARE compatible with his." "What makes you think that?" Darien asked. "When I was almost killed yesterday.." "You were killed." Cameron corrected, "I checked for a pulse." "Okay, when I died yesterday Raye didn't have the strength to heal me. As I understand it I was healed when Cameron was checking for my pulse. Lita described it as a complete transfer of energy." "My power was drained into you which means that they are compatible." "But the powers wouldn't transfer except when Raye was giving Jason her power." "Perhaps our powers can only transfer when there is some power to transfer with." "With our combined power I can teleport us to the Krell ship." Cameron said excitedly. "That is if we can find it." Luna said under her breath. "I think I can help there." Cameron said. "If I can tap the power of Deep Space then I might be able to detect where there is resistance, say like a space body blocking the flow of energy." "Good idea. Try it." Jason and Darien were both terribly exited at the prospect of recovering their loved ones. Cameron closed his eyes and concentrated for a minute. Then slowly pointed straight up. "It's there. It's just within the range that I can detect them. Another hundred meters out and the background energy would completely cover it." "Then lets go." Darien insisted. "Now hold up." Cameron stopped him. "There is something else to think about first." "What?" Darien asked. "Who is the mysterious person that helped me but stopped us from saving the others?" Cameron answered. "What do you mean?" "I ran out of power. I couldn't have gotten away except for a sudden power surge. That isn't a natural phenomenon. Someone fed me that power." "So it sounds like someone was trying to help us." Mina commented. "Then why did someone put a forcefield in front of us to keep us from saving our friends?" Jason answered. "How do you know it was the same person." Cameron tapped the side of his head "Energy manipulation. I recognized it as the same energy that fueled me for a second." "So we have a nemesis and a guardian angel. What do you want to do about it?" "I want to be wary of it until we know what it is and who it is." Cameron answered. "Fine. We'll be careful. Can we go save them now?" Darien asked impatiently. Cameron turned to Jason then Artemis and Luna. All gave him nods. "I guess so. Darien, Mina get close so I can get us all in one wormhole. Luna, you and Artemis stay back. You aren't coming." "But the Scouts are our responsibility. We can't allow them to be in danger." "And that is why you can't come." Cameron finished. "You can't help us up there and it would just be excess baggage." "Excess baggage? Why I..!" Artemis was incredible indignated. "Look. It's for your safety, ours, and theirs." Artemis gave in, "All right. We'll stay." "Good. Jason. Time for some juice." "You've got it." Jason took Cameron's hand and bolts of energy began playing across their sides as Jason's energy was given to Cameron. "Hold on, people. This could be a wild ride." * * * * * The watcher was fascinated by this. Solar seemed to be trading power with this new comer. "What are they up to?" he wondered. In a sudden burst of darkness the four scouts vanished. "What! Where did they go?" The watcher check his computer screens but wasn't able to find them until orbital sensors detected a second wormhole forming. "Of course. I should have known they would try to go there." They were aboard the Krell ship. ______________________________________________________________________ A little more history into the power of the crystal and their connection. You might have guessed it but like I said it wasn't as mysterious as my usual books. But the mystery behind the watcher thickens. First he helps then he hinders, where are this guys priorities. You probably don't understand the part about 'can't they go into one fight with aliens without being kidnapped?' line but you might later. I'll try to get the rest of the story out soon. I thank Lady Jupiter for her positive criticism but I would like others to send some so I can work the story to everybodys' enjoyment. StromDakth@aol.com in case they didn't put it up.
