I am an avid reader with an active imagination and was unable to resist the temptation to continue with his work. This story is primarily written by me but with aid from Solar/Wolfbyte so forgive me if this story is rather patchy and incomplete. This also mainly an introduction for my new character and so don't be surprised if it isn't very complex. _______________________________________________________________ Chapter 8: Raye awoke with a pounding head ache. "Someone get the number of the truck that hit me." "Only if you get the number for the one that hit me." Raye opened her eyes and was pleased to see Lita. "Lita. You're okay." she reached over and took the brunette's hand. "At least as good as I can feel after Brull brained me when I resisted." Lita cuddled her head again as a wave of pain over took her. Raye took the chance to take a look at their surrondings. Not that there was much to look at. The room only had one door with a concave bubble window and a second window on the outer wall presenting a view of the stars. "Must be night." Raye thought. Then she saw the sun entering the frame of the window. "Oh no. We're in space again." she groaned. "I know." Lita groaned. "And don't use your powers in here." "Why?" Raye asked, raising an eyebrow and regretting the movement. "The walls are designed to contain our power and reflect it. You'll just fry us." "Then what are we supposed to do?" "I think we need to think of someway out of here." Then Raye saw the bowls of food next to Lita and realized she was hungry. She took one and was about to gulp it down when Lita spoke up, "I wouldn't. It makes the food the Imperium gave us seem like a gourmet meal." Raye looked down at the bowl of brown fluid. It didn't look that bad. "Are you sure?" "Before they took Serena she tried some. She said that she would never be hungry again." Raye looked at the bowl in surprise. "How could anything be that bad?" "I guess a species of slavers would have learned how to create something foul enough that the slaves wouldn't eat it." "When did they take Serena?" Raye asked, "Did they get anyone else?" "They captured you, me, Serena, and Amy. They took Amy first while she was still unconscious and took Serena about half an hour ago." "Maybe we can get out when they come for us." Raye suggested. Lita shook her head, "They create some sort of stun field in here when they come for one of us." "Then what do we do?" "I don't know." * * * * * Serena fell to the ground roughly as one of the Krell soldiers shoved her in front of the apparent leader. He was tall, even for one of his people, and had several faded gray hairs streaking his otherwise black hair. His pale flesh was also slightly potmarked by speckles of purple. He seemed very angry. He began talking with one of the guards in a strange tongue then turned to her. When he spoke, it was in the slanged version of his people, "You are the leader of the Scouts, Correct?" "Yes." She stood up. "I am Sailor Moon the defender of love and." The leader waved off the rest of her speech. "Yes, yes. I have already heard that awful speech in our recordings of your combat." He turned to glare at her. "What I want to know is which of you killed Frell?" Serena was confused. "Who?" "Frell!" the old Krell yelled. "My son! You people killed him yesterday!" Serena stepped back from the giant fuming alien. "The one who attack us at Lita's? He deserved what he got." This enraged the towering being "Tell me who killed him or I shall make you suffer like you could never imagine." Serena stepped right into the slave driver's face, "You could never imagine some of the things I have suffered." She growled, "I have died. I have seen my friends die. I have lost my eternal love. I have suffered tortures that you could never imagine. So don't you even think about threatening me." The aged Krell could not believe the fire that this small human held within her. But even this strong willed creature would not deter him. "What I want is the name of the human that has killed my son." "Your son killed Jason. He was repaid in full." "Tell me his name." Melvik grabbed the small human. She glared into his eyes. "DarkStar." "DarkStar." The older Krell whispered. He released her and began to walk away. "Take her to a holding cell. I will want to talk to her later." Two large guards took Serena's arms and led her off down the hall. * * * * * Amy looked up as the door opened and Serena was thrown in. "Sailor Moon." She rushed over and helped steady her blond friend. "Are you okay?" "I'm fine. I just need some food. I'm starving." Amy smiled at her friend. "You're all right." * * * * * Jason, Mina, Darien, and Cameron appeared in the halls of a giant ship. Jason and Darien looked around in awe. It was an impressive ship after all. Mina turned her attentions to Cameron who had collapsed as soon as they had appeared. "Wow. I've never been on a starship before." Darien stated. "Never?" Jason asked. "Well. There was once but that ship was from a different dimension." Darien turned to his friend. "How many have you been on?" "Lets see." Jason thought, "There was the Sun People's city ship, the first Krell ship, the Imperium space station, and three different ships at the Jedi Praxeum." Out loud he said, "Six." "Six. Now that is impressive." "Guys, " Mina interrupted, "I think we have a problem." The two male Sailors turned to find Mina leaning over a crumpled DarkStar. "What's wrong?" Darien asked. "Did he make a pass at you?" Jason asked, half smiling, "Cameron, you know that scares the ladies." "Jason, now isn't the time." Cameron said through clenched teeth. "I don't have any power left." "None?" Darien asked. "None." "That could be a problem. I'm almost drained too. It will take me about an hour for me to recharge fully." Jason commented. "How long is it going to take for you to power up?" "I can't recharge here." Cameron muttered. "What?" Darien seemed confused. "Why can't you recharge?" "This is a starship. Doesn't that explain the situation?" Jason slapped his head. "Of course. This ship is designed to protect the occupants from cosmic radiation. They are specifically made so that the radiation that fuels him is not allowed in." "Exactly." Cameron said. "This could prove a very big problem." Darien commented. "That reduces our fighting force by twenty five percent." "I'm not entirely useless." Cameron said, pushing himself to his feet. "I can still fight hand-to-ha.." he stumbled and crashed to the floor, groaning in pain. "Okay, maybe not." Jason thought for a moment then spoke up. "Cameron, we're going to hide you for now while we go and try to free the others. Okay?" From the ground came a muffled voice, "Do I have a choice?" "No, I guess not. Come on." The three active sailors picked up their weakened comrade and led him around a corner. Their they found several large equipment lockers. "Perfect." Cameron lifted his head to look at the lockers. "No. You wouldn't." He turned and looked at his old friend. "You would." "Come on. Time for you to do a sardine impression." Jason smiled. "I hate sardines." Cameron said. Dispite his distaste for the confined space Cameron climbed into the compact locker. "We'll be back for you in a while." Jason shut the door and the three left. "You better, or I'll find you." they heard shouted from behind them. * * * * * Jason, Darien, and Mina skulked around the interior of the Krell vessel. They had seen several of the aliens but had only needed to confront two of them. They were now laying unconscious, tied up in a refuse bin. Even now they could hear another Krell coming down the hall. "Hurry, we want as few confrontations as possible." The Scouts quickly ducked back into a side hall to avoid the notice of a passing soldier. They had little to worry about. The Krell was to busy looking at a report from his section. When the foot falls had disappeared the three suited figures stepped out of the hall. "Now, as I remember from the last time I was on one of these the brig should be this way." Jason pointed and the Scouts quickly ran down the hall. Jason wondered how Raye was faring. She had been here for almost six hours now. "Who knows what kind of trouble she was in." Jason then smiled "Who knows what kind of trouble she was causing." She had always been a handful even for her husband. But that was one of the reasons he loved her. "Jason, are you sure about your directions?" Darien asked. Jason shrugged. "I think so. I was partially unconscious at the time I was here." "Lucky for you I was fully awake when we were here." Mina stated. "Then maybe you should lead the way, my dear Venus." "Don't mind if I do." She crept in front of the two men and lead the way down the hall until they reached a door inset in one of the walls. "Okay. I think this should be it. On the count of three." "My count or yours?" Jason asked smiling. "Mine. We actually count to three." The two guys took up positions by the door. "One, two, THREE." The three Sailors rushed into the room ready for any eventuality. They came back out several moments later, Darien and Jason laughing. "Okay. So maybe I don't remember it exactly." she defended herself. "I wasn't that far off." "You lead us into a bathroom!" Jason broke out laughing. "Everyone is entitled to at least one mess up." "True. But we've given you a lot more then that." "What? What are you talking about?" "Nothing. Just kidding." Jason began down the hall again. "You guys coming?" he called over his shoulder. * * * * * Lita and Raye sat on the floor of their cell staring out the one small window. In it's view was a large field of stars with the full moon in the center of the window. It looked beautiful to them, with the sea of Serenity visible quite clearly. Neither had touched any of the increasing number of soup bowls that just seemed to appear in the cell with them. "What are we going to do?" Raye said out loud. "I don't know. Amy could have gotten us out of here." "Or Jason." Raye added. "Or Cameron." Lita whispered. Raye turned to her friend. "You really like him don't you?" "I really wish I knew." Lita said. "Do you think you love him?" "I don't know." Lita buried her face in her knees for several minutes then turned to Raye. "Raye, how did you know when you and Jason were in love?" Raye was a bit surprised but she guessed she shouldn't have been. She did ask Lita. "Well, it's kind of hard for us to know love like most people because usually we have usually met them back in the Silver Millennium. We are all destined for someone. The trick is falling in love with the one we are destined for." "Yeah, but HOW do you know when you're in love?" Lita insisted. "Oh. I guess it is when you would be willing to spend eternity with someone. When they are more important to you then your own life." Raye sighed. "To me Jason is like the completion of me. It's like being only half a person until you find your true love. Only then will you feel complete." Lita smiled at her friend. "You are so lucky. You got a perfect man." Lita moped. "He isn't perfect. Trust me." Raye leaned over and wrapped an arm around her friends shoulder, "There is a perfect man for you out there, to. You just need to find him." Raye smiled, "And I don't think it'll require much of a search." Lita perked up. "Well, you were destined to Jason back in the Moon Kingdom. I was promised to Nephlyte, remember. What if he was my destined?" "Then I say, screw destiny and go with your heart." Lita laughed at her friends frankness. "Thanks, Raye." Lita wrapped her arms around her old friend and hugged her. "You're welcome, Lita." When the tall athletic girl released her she huffed out trying to recover from having her lungs crushed. "Now, the next time you see him you tell him exactly what you feel. If you love him, you'll both know it." "Thanks, I will." "Now if only we could help Mina get a boyfriend." Both of the girls laughed, a well needed reprieve from the depression of the cell. Then they heard the door begin to open. The were both immediately silent as they hoped behind the door. Suddenly a familiar head popped through the open frame. "Hiya, honey." * * * * * Jason stood in front of the door to the brig. "This is where they held us. Raye and the others should be here." he thought. He reached down and slowly began to open the door into a long, black hallway. "Come on." he whispered to his two compatriots. The three of them slipped in through the open door and looked around at the rows of closed doors. "This will take forever to search." Darien said in distress. "Not if we use that." Jason pointed to a darkened console inset in the wall. They walked over to it and each eyed the contraption. "Okay. Now where is the 'ON' button?" They all scanned the surface of the blackened device but none could find a way of turning it on. "Maybe it uses voice software. Computer on." The screen flashed to life. "Amy would be proud." Mina said. "I chose to take that as a compliment." Jason commented. "Computer, locate Earth captives called Sailor Scouts." The screen hummed for a few seconds then a schematic of the holding area appeared, one room highlighted in green. "That's it. Come on." As the three were running down the hall the same thought passed through both Jason and Darien's minds. "I'm coming, my love." At the end of the hall they found the door behind which their destined ones were. Jason peered inside through the small window but could only see darkness around a single window showing stars and the moon. Darien reached down and slowly turned the knob of the door, automatically unlocking it. Jason leaned his head in looking for the female scouts. Then he saw a patch of the darkness move. He smiled "Hiya, honey." The lights flipped on and the three Scouts jumped back in surprise. "Hiya, Dear." The last was sneered on by Melvik standing in the room with some twenty armed Krell soldiers. _____________________________________________________________________ Now ain't that a bummer. Get onto the ship and find that you can't charge up there, due to the unstable nature of his powers. I also thought it was about time to add another highly emotional part to the story so I wrote in the part with Lita and Raye. I hope you enjoy. I don't think I have much more to say about this chapter so I'll bid you all adiu. I thank Lady Jupiter for her positive criticism but I would like others to send some so I can work the story to everybodys' enjoyment. StromDakth@aol.com in case they didn't put it up.
