and therefore am not taking any money away from the copyright holders.

Thanks to Lady Jupiter (Jupiter101@hotmail.com) as I was inspired to write
this series after misinterpreting her "Remember When?" prologue and reading
her "Rainy Day Man Remix" story. Sure, my other fic "Let The Punishment Be
The Crime" had similar inspiration, but once you read it you'll see why.

Like Lady Jupiter, I'm a huge Jupiter fan. That will become obvious as you
read this and other stories by me, they are all Lita-centric. I will be
using the NA dubbed named, because that's the way I prefer it!

Also, this fic features the Scouts and Ken in Lady Jupiter's "Jupiter
Knight" World where Ken is Lita's protector, Jupiter Knight. I have been
given permission to do so.

My other/future fanfics can be found at my "Other Stuff" page at
http://www.muskoka.net/~summerton/other.html and probably anywhere else you
got this fic from.

Just so you know, this story borrows some parts from my "Punishment" fic.
What I mean is you may notice similarities sometimes. Don't worry about
that: I'm allowed to steal from my own work. :) I do it here because the
descriptions were perfect the first time and, well, read on!

Divided Destiny Part One - Oh Boy Oh... Girl!
by Scott "Cyclops" Summerton
Last Revised Tuesday May 12th, 1998
---------------

"I take it the meeting is over then?"

Luna's questioned caused the entire room to be silent. Serena, Amy,
Raye, Mina and Lita were gathered in the latter's apartment for a typical
Scout meeting. The girls were gabbing about this and that while Artemis has
dozed off. Serena was the first to realize who asked the question.

"Why do you say that?" Serena asked.

"Well with your gossiping slowy taking over the topics at hand, it
appears that no one wants to discuss the Negaverse anymore!" replied the
small cat.

"Sorry Luna," Mina started, "it's just that we've been fighting all
these really easy monsters day in and day out for the past few weeks! So
since the one we just faced took less time to beat than it took to
transform, we needed SOMETHING to spice up the conversation!"

"I understand that you are getting rather bored by not having much
of a challenge lately against the latest from the Negaverse, but that is
exactly why we need to discuss it!"

Amy lowered her book momentarily to join the conversation. "I
agree. It may be a Negaverse plot to get us not putting out our best
efforts in order to catch us off-guard."

	"Exactly." chimed in Luna.

"Oh alright, we'll continue with the meeting." Serena mumbled
reluctantly.

They resumed their discussion and for several minutes it remained
strictly business. However, as before, the gossip slowly seeped it's way
into the meeting causing it to be called off once again.

Luna turned to Artemis, and before speaking she had to poke him in
the ribs as he had again fallen asleep. "It's probably just as well, seeing
as Ken and Darien aren't here yet. I wonder what's keeping them?"

Artemis at first replied with only a yawn as he tried to go back to
sleep, but Luna's constant prodding caused him to answer verbally. "You
know that Lita and Serena told us that those two would be late because they
were both in that charity fun run. You know that the rest of the Scouts
needed to not do that so they wouldn't get too tired and -because- that was
your idea. You know that Darien and Ken were able to do it because they
haven't been busy with Negaverse attacks because the girls have been able to
handle them all by themselves. And you know that I'm tired, now let me go
to sleep!"

Luna smiled away a forming sweatdrop as Artemis again dozes off
almost immediately.

"They're gonna kill us you know."

"No they won't, don't be crazy."

"Yeah they are, they're gonna kill us."

"Look, Ken, I told Luna and Artemis that we'd be late because of the
fun run, which you should remember as being Luna's idea, so they aren't
expecting us right away."

"Alright, if you're sure." Ken entered the passenger door of
Darien's car as they prepared to head to Lita's apartment. "Why was Luna
so insistant on the girls not running with us today anyway? I mean,
normally they'd be all for it, dragging Serena along behind them..."

Darien smiled as he looked at Ken before starting the ignition.
"The girls are getting the perfect amount of exercise with the battles
they've been having every day, but they haven't needed us in the battles."
Darien turned the key starting the car's engine and was soon pulling out
onto the road. "Sure sometimes I'm with Serena or you're with Lita when some
Negacreep shows up, but most of the time it's just them. Usually we'd be
facing a tough monster per week right? Well, now we've got one piddly
monster showing up each day, week after week, and that keeps it balanced.
Luna wants us to keep in shape and doesn't want the Scouts overexerting
themselves any more than they need to with these daily little battles."

"Yeah I guess, but that's exactly what I DON'T like about it. I
don't want to be away from Lita as much as you want to be away from Serena,
and with these insignificant monsters showing up regularly, I'm just worried
that we'll be somewhere else when a really BIG threat shows up when nobody
is ready for it!"

Darien thought for a second before responding, looking at Ken now
and then but making sure to keep his eyes on the road. "You're probably
right about that. Still, I'd say it's either we stay with the girls every
second of every day, or we leave them on their own now and then."

"And what's wrong with being with the girls all the time?" Ken
asked with a devilish grin on his face.

Darien saw the grin and responded with one of his own. "Absolutely
nothing, if that was all there was to it. Unfortunately that isn't the
case, so we have to do stuff on our own time now and then. If we are always
helping the girls with battles where they don't need help then they'll get
less and less prepared and won't be ready for any major attacks, and neither
would we. That's why we are always out and about, so we keep in shape in
the best way we can why they do the same thing the best way they can."

"Yeah you're right, it's for the better. That and Luna wouldn't
have it any other way. I hate stubborn talking cats, we could do with a few
less don't you agree?"

Darien smiled while saying "Nah, only one less I think!"

Ken couldn't keep from laughing "Yep, one less would be perfect!
Speaking of stubborn talking cats, I do kind of feel sorry for Artemis
having to be there all the time with the 5 girls, 6 if you count Luna. I
mean, he IS a guy."

"Well, Luna told me he's taken up sleeping during anything other
than a Scout meeting when the girls get together. That way he doesn't
really have to put up with it. Still, I've only thought about it a couple
of times, but I always end up coming to the same conclusion. It seems to
make it all worthwhile."

Ken thought for a few seconds but was stumped. "What's that?"

"He lives with Mina." Darien replied nonchalantly.

Ken tried to act as innocent as Darien when he replied "Ohhhhhh" but
broke out into laughter halfway with Darien joining in soon after.

"So do you still feel sorry for him now, Ken?" asked Darien gasping
for air after laughing so hard.

While wiping tears from his eyes, Ken replied "Oh yeah, definitely!"
It was hard for him to stop chuckling but eventually he managed to do so.

With nearly 20 minutes left to go before they got to Lita's
apartment, the conversation was suddenly going nowhere, and fast.

Ken broke the silence. "Mind if I turn on the radio Darien?" he
asked turning to face him.

"You can't be serious Lita! He REALLY asked you to do THAT?!" Mina
asked with a shocked look on her face.

"I... WHAT? Mina?! Where did you come from?!" Ken was dumbfounded
as to why Mina's surprised face suddenly in front of his own.

Mina got a curious look on her face, "Lita, what on Earth are you
talking about?" The curious look became a mischevious one. "Is this some
way to duck out of answering my question?"

Ken suddenly realized that he was sitting crosslegged on something
which was definitely not the seats in Darien's car. He turned his head
quickly to scan his surroundings, and when he saw Amy, Raye, Serena and the
two cats as well as Mina right in front of him he thought nothing of it, his
mind was too preoccupied by a soft swaying sensation originating from the
back of his neck. A desperately confused look came over his face.

Apparantly Amy was more worried than amused as she quickly came
towards Ken. "Lita," she began, "are you feeling OK?" Amy put her hand on
Ken's forehead.

Ken's merely looked up into Amy's blue eyes as his mind was starting
put a few pieces together. He was in Lita's apartment now, not Darien's
car. "Did I fall asleep in the car?" he wondered. The Scouts are all here,
and so are the cats. Artemis is even sound asleep like Darien said he'd be.
What a minute... Darien isn't here. However, Ken barely noticed that as he
was more worried about the whereabouts of another missing person. There was
only one person that he wanted to see with his own eyes, and then perhaps
all his questions would be answered.

	That person was Lita.

Amy pulled her hand away. "Well, your forehead's not warm." Amy
bent over and looked deep into Ken's eyes, carfully examining each one.

"Is anything wrong Amy?" Mina was beginning to get worried as well
since Amy's hunches almost always had merit.

"Not anything that I can tell," she replied, still gazing. Amy then
stood up and took a step back. "Those eyes are as green as ever."

Ken's ability to speak finally returned as he simply looked
questioningly to Amy's puzzled face and said "Green?"

Ken paused, unsure if what he heard was indeed coming from his own
mouth.

Ken repeated the word, this time whispering. "Green..." His
previous 'worst-case scenario' was beginning to become a reality.

Serena finally broke her silence. "Wha? What's wrong with Lita?
Amy! Why aren't you telling me what's going on!"

Raye was quick to follow. "BE QUIET Serena! That's what Amy's
trying to figure out!"

"STOP IT both of you, this is serious!" Thankfully Luna had
interjected herself between them before they had a chance to argue as they
usually do. Artemis was still sprawled out asleep as Luna came in front of
Ken and sat herself down. "Lita, are you alright?"

None of this registered to Ken though. Trying to ignore the prying
eyes from everyone in the room, Ken closed his eyes and covered his head
with his hands. Five things shouted to his brain at that moment, five WRONG
things. One: His hair was soft and drawn back into a ponytail with two
balls, just like Lita's. Two: Lita still hasn't shown up yet. Three:
Everyone was calling him Lita. Four: His clothes were drastically
different than when they should be. Five: His determined that his voice
was unmistakenly Lita's.

With silence finally taking over everyone in the room, Ken could
feel tears welling up in his eyes out of a combination of confusion,
desperation, fear, and something else. He just felt like crying would make
it all better. Sniffling back tears he dropped his hands to his lap,
keeping his eyes tightly shut. He felt his crossed legs, only he wasn't
wearing pants. Ken then realized that he HAD to look at himself, that was
the only way he could be sure if what he thought had happened had indeed
happened.

Ken could feel everybody's prying stares as he lowered his head and
finally opened his eyes. He saw a pair of very familiar hands resting on a
tan skirt. Hands with thin, slender fingers and long elegant nails emerging
from a white blouse. That would have been shocking enough, but two
obstructions coming forth from his chest caused him more anguish.

The answer was obvious to Ken, but there was ONE final thing that
would absolutely verify what was going on. He slowly raised those hands to
his ears and felt the the twin rose earrings Lita always wore.

"I'm Lita," emerged from his mouth, and for the first time he
finally realized why his voice sounded like Lita's. It WAS Lita's,
literally.

"Why of course you are!" stated Luna matter-of-factly, "Lita?
Answer me please!"

Ken, continuing to ignore Luna and the Scouts, finally started to
accept this situation as a reality. Again scanning his surroundings, Ken
started to get his bearings. He was seated cross-legged on the floor in
Lita's living room. Luna was directly in front of him with Mina just behind
her sitting in a way similar to his own. Amy was now kneeling beside Mina,
Serena and Raye were sitting next to each other on Lita's couch. Everybody
was staring at him with anxious eyes. Everybody awake that is, as Artemis
was still asleep, upsidedown at that, on one of Lita's chair.

Ken immediately looked to Lita's VCR clock to see what time it was.
When he was in the car with Darien, they had had 20 minutes to go before
they'd arrive here. Now however Ken estimated there was 5 minutes left.
Had he really spent 15 minutes here already? And as... Lita? Upon seeing
Lita's scared face in the dormant TV screen, he at first thought "There she
is!" However, he quickly concluded that it was his own reflection looking
back at him when she also seemed excited at the exact moment he did.

Serena finally spoke again, this time to no one in particular.
"It's like Lita's there, but nobody's home inside."

After hearing those words, all of Ken's worries instantly
disappeared with the activation of his instincts to always protect Lita.
"Serena's right," he thought. "If I am in her, what happened to her?"

"LEE-ta..." Luna desperately pleaded, "PLEASE say SOMEthing..."

Ken looked down to Luna and saw that the small cat was nearly in
tears, as was everyone else in the room (that was awake that is) Ken
cleared his throat, and upon hearing Lita's voice doing so he knew he
couldn't avoid it any longer. Everyone was eager to see what was going to
happen next. He had to speak, and every time he did he would hear Lita's
sweet voice escape his lips, as feminine as those may be as well.

"Luna," he began wearily, "something is not right here." His voice
was trembling, and he hated hearing Lita's voice that way.

"I could have told you that! As a matter of fact, I DID!"

	"Serena SHUT UP!"

"RAYE! SERENA! Be quiet would you, this is very serious!" Luna
thenturned back to face Ken. "Lita, what is wrong?"

"THIS is wrong," Ken said while waving his hands over his borrowed
body, "I'm Lita."

A look of extreme worry came over everyone, especially Amy and Luna
who briefly exchanged glances. "You ARE Lita because, well," Amy was
struggling for the proper phrase, she was hardly satisfied with what she
came up with hoever, "because you ARE Lita."

"No, Amy, I'm not supposed to be Lita. I was sitting in the car
with Darien and..."

"WHAT?!?" Serena practially exploded. "Lita, what were YOU doing
in DARIEN'S CAR?!?"

"Just listen OK Serena? We were on our way back from the fun run
earlier this afternoon and all of a sudden I was here. I was Lita. We HAVE
to find her!"

Ken started to try standing, not thinking about the new anatomy he
was in possession of, but Amy woudln't let him as she put her hands on his
shoulders. Ken felt the strange padding of the blouse's shoulders beneath
Amy's hands.

"Oh no you don't," Amy began, "I'm not letting you stand up or do
anything until we figure out why you're acting the way you are Lita."

Ken immidiately replied with "LISTEN TO ME! I'M LITA, that's why we
have to find her!" He looked from face to face in the room, feeling that
soft ponytail sway as he did so. Each face was filled with horror, not
comprehending what was going on. He started again to get up, easily
overpowering Amy since Lita's was very strong as well, but Mina helped take
Ken down pinning him on the carpeted floor.

Ken was now flat on his back with Mina above him holding down his
arms, which felt too thin. Amy held his legs together, which momentarily
distracted him since they also felt too thin, but also longer. He noticed
then for the first time that it felt like he was wearing insanely thin
longjohns. "Pantyhose," he thought. He wasn't distracted for long however,
as Raye and Serena were quickly approaching to help hold him down, while
Luna was perched on the couch directing traffic.

"NO! Don't you understand?!? I'M LITA!! We have to find her!
I..." Ken paused, rethinking his thoughts. Suddenly he realized the error
he had made in his haste to find Lita. They EXPECT him to be Lita. They
don't yet know about what happened to him.

	"I'M REALLY KEN!"

Everybody froze when they heard Lita's voice shout those words. Of
course Ken had said it, but they all heard they're tall friend whom they
were pinning to the floor say it.

"Wh... what did you say Lita?" Luna was struggling for the right
words.

"I am Ken, but I'm IN Lita." Ken waited for a response from
someone, ANYONE in the room.

	"Go on," Amy said impatiently.

Ken began to calm down, it was the only way they'd listen. "I was
with Darien in his car, and we were on our way back from the fun run earler
today. I asked him if I could turn on the radio, and all of a sudden Mina
was right in front of me, and I was here."

"So what you're saying is: YOU are Ken, and you're trapped in Lita's
body, right?" Raye determined.

"That's it exactly!" Ken shouted. Again he was surprised to hear
Lita's voice, this time an extremely excited tone.

Everyone else was silent as to what to do next, but Serena was the
first to break their silence.

"You mean... I was right?" she said questioningly.

Everbody, Ken included, looked at Serena. "I was right! HAHAHA!"

"Oh dear," Luna said shying away a sweatdrop, "Serena, we have more
important matters to discuss!"

"No, in a way she's right," Ken began, easily drawing all the
attention back to him. "This IS Lita's body, but she isn't in here with
me... we HAVE to find her!"

"Lita's, err, KEN'S right, we've got to figure out what happened to
Lita!" Amy stated as she started to help Ken get to his feet. She quickly
noticed though, that he was having trouble doing so.

"What's going on?" Ken started, "Amy, why can't I keep my balance?"

Amy led Ken to the nearest chair, luckily the one without Artemis.
"I should have seen this as you as you told me. Here, sit down."

Ken sat down, but was at a loss as to where Amy was going with this.
"Why?" he asked. After he did he realized he was sitting on something
bunched up. He fixed the skirt as quickly as possible until he was
confortable.

Amy knelt down in front of him and took his hands in hers in a
gesture of friendship. "Lit... sorry," Amy blushed when she again noticed
her mistake, "Ken, you aren't accustomed to having a girl's body, so you
obviously won't be used to the change in balance. We'll have to help you
through this step by step."

Ken was thankful that Amy's medical knowledge was able to again help
him like it had in the past. He grinned a wide smile, not realizing that if
he was on the receiving end of it his heart would have melted. "Thanks
Amy." Ken glanced to all the faces now surrounding him. "I'm glad you guys
believe me."

"Now wait just a minute here," Luna began, "how do we know you
aren't a monster from the Negaverse whose taken over Lita's body?"

"I should have expected that one." Ken thought.

However, Amy spoke before Ken could. "As medically improbable as it
sounds, I believe that this IS Ken. The way he got his bearings, the way
he's confronted us and his familiarity with everything here has undoubtedly
been the way Ken would have done so."

"Well, if Amy says that's Ken in there, I believe her," chimed in
Mina.

"Me too! If Lita says she's Ken then I believe him! I mean... if
Lita says he's Ken... if Ken says she's..." Serena was beginning to babble
off on her own.

"I've never ruled anything as being impossible, and if Amy is
confident that Lita, er, Ken, uh," Raye points at Ken, "YOU are who you say
you are, then that's good enough for me!"

Luna was still not quite as convinced as the others, but was
apparantly going to give Ken the benefit of the doubt. "Alright then, what
we have to figure out now is, where is Lita?

"RIGHT" Ken shouted. He quickly got to his feet, but as Amy has
said, wasn't prepared for the change in balance and toppled over onto Amy
who was attempting to support him. The both of them crashed to the ground
with Mina, who was regained he seat on the floor, breaking their fall.

	"What the-? What happened?"

"ARTEMIS! It's about time you woke up!"

"Geez Luna, calm down, it's not like anything serious is every going
on when we all get together anymore?" Artemis stretched out on his chair.

Luna, already low on patience, was losing even more. "Haven't you
been paying attention? Don't you know what's be going on?"

Artemis looked to everyone with wide eyes. "What are you talking
about?"

At that moment, the front door of Lita's apartment opened causing
everyone to look toward it. Darien and Ken, or at least Ken's body,
proceeded to walk into the room.

Upon entering, Darien saw Lita who had apparantly fallen onto Amy
and Mina, with Serena still babbling to herself on the couch. "Serena?"

She stopped to look to him. "Darien?" Serena noticed what appeared
to be Ken, looked to Lita-who-claimed-to-be-Ken, then back to the Ken who
walked in. "Ken?"

Artemis just looked questioning to Luna who proceeded to ignore him,
"Luna?"

The Ken who walked in looked to Serena, "Serena?"

Amy, on top of Mina and under Lita, glanced to the exact same people
who Serena did, but proceeded to look to again to the tall brunette on top
of her. "Ken?"

Artemis asked Luna, this time more sternly, "Luna?" but she
continued ignoring him.

Mina, struggling to breath beneath the combined wait of Ken (in
Lita) and Amy, managed to gasp "Ken!"

The Ken who walked in looked to Amy, then Mina, and finally to Ken
(in Lita), "Lita?!"

Ken (in Lita) looked to the Ken who walked in, "KEN?!"

Artemis, really frustrated by this point, looked to Luna one last
time and shouted, "Luna?!?"

Everybody again became silent, until Ken (in Lita) looked to Amy
with a look of dread. "Amy... I have to go to the bathroom..."

TO BE CONTINUED...
END PART ONE

---------------

Part one is done, and this series will probably consist of many parts, but I
might be able to pull it off in three or four. It took me forever to sit
down and begin working on this one, but with the series now underway I think
I'll have a little more motivation to write further parts at a speedier
rate. Don't worry about this one's lack of action, I'll make up for that
eventually down the line!

NOTE: This series' original name was "Soulmates" but I was told that title
has been used previously. I reluctantly altered the title to it's current
one, "Divided Destiny."

Well, this is the first part of my first fanfic series, so I'll be expecting
the usual compliment of flames, praise, what have you. Here's all the info
