Zeikfried cursed under his breath, his eyes narrowing as he saw three fiery-red streaks of light float away from Adlehyde and get absorbed within the ground itself. "Damn..." he growled, "The clones are dead. Oh, well...as the old saying goes: 'When you want something done right...'" He slammed the spearhead of the Glumzamber into the ground. "'You've gotta do it yourself.'"

*BUUUUUUUURP!!!!*

Boomerang and Noble Knight looked at Zed who said sheepishly, "Excuse me..."

Noble Knight grinned and teased, "Where are your manners?"

Zed responded with a grin, "Demons don't have any, so lay off!" Boomerang burst out laughing. Jack and Elmina just rolled their eyes at the childish behavior of the two demons and the...whatever Noble Knight was. All of the Dream Chasers were in what was left of the cafe, drinking again. Boomerang, Noble Knight, and Zed, however, were the only ones at the bar.

Thinking that they would not have much trouble for the rest of the day, Boomerang and Noble Knight once again were not wearing their armor, but they did have their weapons.

Jack then asked, "NK! I've been meaning to ask you: What the hell are you?!"

Noble Knight looked at him and retorted, trying to keep herself from grinning, "I'm a big blob of atoms and molecules sitting on this bar stool." Zed and Boomerang were on the floor with that one.

Jane looked at the boys then back at Jack and spoke, grinning, "I think they've had one too many beers."

Boomerang retorted, "I haven't touched that crap!"

Jane responded, "No, you've drank ten shot glasses of vodka tonic!"

Boomerang growled, "Damn it, I'm not drunk! Here, I'll proove it too 'ya! Draw a line on the ground and I'll do a flip on it!" Zed and Noble Knight's sides started to hurt from laughing so much. Boomerang looked at them, then back at Jane and said, pointing to his two companions at the bar, "These two are the drunks!" Noble Knight razzed at him. Zed took an ice cube from his drink and threw it down Boomerang's shirt.

"AIEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!" Boomerang screamed, leaping off of his stool and ripping his shirt off. He then proceeded to shriek as he tried to get the ice cube out of his shirt or take his shirt off, whichever came first, "ACKOWFUCKSHITGETITOUTGETITOUTSHIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!" He finally succeeded in getting his shirt off and throwing onto the floor. He then glared at Zed and growled, "You are soooooo dead..." Zed yelped and started to run, Boomerang chasing him around what remained of the cafe.

This time, everyone was laughing. In fact, Noble Knight was laughing so hard that she accidently fell off of her stool and onto Seph. She spoke, climbing back onto her stool, "Thanks for breaking my fall!"

Seph groaned teasingly, "Thanks for breaking my ribs!!"

Noble Knight did not hear him, however. She was staring at Boomerang, a mischievous, yet almost perverted, grin creeping onto her face. She whispered to herself, "I'm in loooove!"

Meanwhile, Boomerang had gotten Zed in a headlock and was about to slam the swordsman's head into the wall when the wall suddenly exploded inwards. The Dream Chasers all cried out and leapt backwards. When the dust cleared, the cheerful and drunk mood was destroyed as Zeikfried walked into the cafe through the hole he had made.

Zeikfried looked at Boomerang and Zed and spoke, "It's been a while, you two. Three years, wasn't it, Zed?" Zed's eyes narrowed and his hand clasped around the hilt of the Doom Bringer.

Boomerang growled, reaching behind his back for the Sabre Fang, "Not long enough..." Noble Knight unsheathed her sword, sobering up in a record time. Elmina and Jack unsheathed their own swords. Rudy loaded his new Single Shot ARM while Jane locked and loaded her new Uzi ARM, ARMs which used to be Dark Knight's. Cecilia readied her staff. Lucied and Seph growled and crouched down, baring their fangs.

Zeikfried just laughed and suddenly cast Negative Rainbow on all of them. Seph fell to his side, his breathing labored, and Noble Knight fell to her knees. They both had a strong weakness for the fire element of Zeikfried's spell. Boomerang and Zed were not overwhelmingly harmed like the rest of the Dream Chasers and Lucied, but the spell still weakened them. Noble Knight managed to climb to her feet, but she and Seph were still the most weakened of the Dream Chasers, for their strong points were ice magic, giving them overwhelming weaknesses to fire magic.

Boomerang looked back at her, a lump rising in the back of his throat and in the pit of his stomach. He found that he was worried about her. Was she all right? Would she be able to survive another attack like that? As Boomerang looked back at Zeikfried, he could not help but ask himself, Is Cecilia right? Am I falling in love with someone? But...what does that mean?

Zeikfried cast Negative Rainbow again, this time only hitting Cecilia, Rudy, Jack, Elmina, and Jane. Zed leapt at him, but was hit in the face by yet another casting of the demon's strongest spell. Zed went rolling across the floor, Boomerang quickly rushing over to help him to his feet. However, while Boomerang and everyone else was occupied, Zeikfried looked at Noble Knight and grinned, his grip tightening around the Glumzamber. Suddenly, catching Noble Knight, and everyone else, by surprise, Zeikfried threw the Glumzamber at the silver-haired warrior. Boomerang's head shot up, his eyes widening.

Time itself seemed to slow down as Boomerang leapt back to his feet and bolted over to Noble Knight. As Boomerang ran, Cecilia's words echoed in his mind: "Love is when you like someone so much that you're willing to put their life above your own..."

The next thing Boomerang knew was an extremely sharp stab of pain in his stomach and everyone in the entire room screaming. Boomerang's eyes widened as he looked down at himself to see where the pain had come from, the truth hitting the demon like a bolt.

Part of the shaft of the Glumzamber was sticking out of his stomach. He had thrown himself in front of Noble Knight and had taken the spear for her.

Even Zeikfried was speechless. He had definately not expected this to happen. Nor had he expected Boomerang, of all people, to throw himself in front of someone and sacrifice himself.

All of the Dream Chasers ran over to Boomerang who was still staring at the half of the Glumzamber which was sticking out of him. He looked at them and spoke with a lop-sided grin, "Ah, it's not as bad as it looks. I--" He cut himself off and looked over his shoulder just to see the spearhead of the Glumzamber protruding from his back. He groaned, stumbling backwards, "I was wrong!" He fell onto his rear on the floor, his breathing growing labored and his vision clouding over.

Noble Knight and the other Dream Chasers all fell to their knees beside him, all of them on the verge of nervous breakdowns, especially Zed and Noble Knight. Zeikfried was still staring at his fellow demon, completely dumbfounded and his mouth hanging open.

He snapped back to the present when Zed turned around and glared at him, his ocean-blue eyes burning with a fire that Zeikfried had never witnessed in Zed before. There was no fear in his eyes, nor any other emotion. Only rage.

Alicia took a deep breath and spoke to the air in her room, grinning, "It's time."

She took her ocean-blue pendent from around her neck and held it up. The pendent was deep, ocean-blue, just as Zed's eyes were. Also, engraved into the pendent was the zodiac symbol of Gemini. It looked almost exactly like the stone that she had given Zed except that her pendent was carved into a shape. Zed's was not. Her pendent was carved into the shape of a diamond.

Alicia closed her eyes under her sunglasses and began to chant, "Hear me, 'o spirits..."

Zed, who had been about to swing the Doom Bringer at Zeikfried, suddenly stopped and dug through his pocket, taking out the stone that Alicia had given him. The ocean-blue stone was now glowing bright blue. Zeikfried's eyes narrowed, confused.

In the back of the room, Jack finally got the other half of the Glumzamber out of Boomerang's stomach and quickly used Rudy's vest to press down on one side of the wound while Jane used Jack's jacket to press down on the other side. They were trying to keep Boomerang's blood from flowing too rapidly and also trying to keep him from bleeding to death.

Boomerang, however, had already lost enough blood to cause him to loose consciousness. Noble Knight had him sat up while Jack, Jane, and Cecilia did what they could with his wounds. Cecilia was casting every healing spell she knew while Jack and Jane tried to at least slow down the bleeding. Zed's cry of surprise and fear caused them all to turn around.

Zed's eyes were growing as wide as saucers and he was staring down at his chest. The other Dream Chasers then saw what was frightening him so much. There was a long, vertical, ocean- blue stream of light trailing down his chest. The light seemed to be growing, looking like the light from a cracked doorway.

Zeikfried was backing away from Zed. He had absolutely no idea what was happening. All he knew was that he was, for the first time in his long life, afraid.

Alicia continued, her pendent's glow becoming brighter and brighter, "Guardians and protectors of the light. Answer my summons and come forth."

Zed wrapped his arms around his chest and squeezed his eyes shut. His face was a mask of pain, for now the light coming from his chest was burning him, making his chest feel very warm on the outside and almost burning hot on the inside.

Zeikfried had backed up against the wall of the remains of the cafe, unable to gain anymore distance between himself and Zed. He just barely heard Zed groan, "W-What's happening...to me?!"

Alicia's eyes snapped open and she finished, "GEMINI CRASH!!!!"

Zed screamed in pain as the strange force inside him caused him to let go of his chest and made the light grow even brighter. Then, a radiant beam of ocean-blue light suddenly shot from his chest, engulfing a terrified Zeikfried and practically blinding the other Dream Chasers.

The light seemed to never have an end until, after what had seemed like an eternity to Zed, it finally faded away and the vertical light disappeared from his chest.

The Dream Chasers looked at him, amazed and dumbfounded. He looked back at them and then where Zeikfried had been. There was no trace of the demon except scraps of his red-violet cape.

Zed just stared at the wall for a moment, his breathing labored, his eyes extremely wide, and his heart racing. Suddenly, without any warning at all, the green-haired demon fainted.
