Chapter 4
Broken Souls

Colors of orange, red, and pink filled the sky and mountainous
landscape that surrounded that small house on Mt. Gagazet mountain range.
From the high mountain stretched a small landscape that went from the
base of the mountain into the sea. On the middle of the stretch of land
was a small house that looked quite cozy from the outside. The two story
house was white and had a balcony coming out on the highest window. All
around the house were stone paths that were made out of marble. The
path’s lead around the house and toward a steep side of the stretch of
land. The stone path, leading downward, leads into the sandy beach below
and then the stone path stops. The house’s bright white color make’s it
almost impossible for a person to see it when it snows on Mt. Gagazet.
In front of the house there is another path that lead toward the
towering mountain.

Slowly shutting the window from the cold Tidus slowly let out a deep
sigh of despair and sorrow. As he shifted his weight to move himself to
the left he looked at the door that Ryanna has gone out of and he
wondered what was taking her so long. Looking down at the ground he turned
his attention to his legs and stared at them. These legs had carried him
through out Spira and now....they could barely hold up his weight. It
would take time for them to be back to normal but then as soon as they
were Tidus would set out and find his friends once again. As he was lost
deep in thought the door to his room opened and Ryanna came in carrying
a small book.

“ I thought you might want to look at this.” Ryanna said opening the
book. Tidus remained silent as watched Ryanna pull up the other chair
next to him and sit down in it. Soon having a disgusted look on her face
she flipped through the pages until she got to the end of the book.
Shaking her head in confusion she rummaged through them again and then
stopped in the middle of the book.

“ Ah ha! Here we are!” Ryanna said in triumph as she turned the book
the right way so Tidus could see. Taking the book carefully Tidus looked
down to see a map that had the whole mountain on it. Looking at it he
saw a very detailed map of Mt. Gagazet. It described the mountain range,
where the main path was, how high the mountain got, and it even
described the history of the mountain. Looking down near the bottom he saw a
red dot on it and looked at Ryanna with curiosity.

“ Ryanna....um....what’s with that red dot on the map?” Tidus asked
curiously. Ryanna pointed to it and explained briefly.

“ This is where my home is and the black line you see is the path I
take to the main path on Mt. Gagazet.” Ryanna said as she backed up and
leaned against the chair. Tidus sighed and also leaned back against the
chair. Looking at the map he remembered his journey up the cold and
treacherous mountain. He remembered the Ronso’s telling his friends and him
that the mountain did not welcome the weak and to tell the truth he
believed them. The drastic cold temperatures and with all those enemy’s
around it’s no wonder that only a few summoner’s and their guardians make
it to Zanarkand. Closing his eyes he remembered what he saw once they
reached the top of the mountain. A blue spiral that was dead set in the
middle of that small body of water. By the water was a wall that was
covered in bodies or statues. Those statues were the people of Zanarkand
that was destroyed more than one thousand years ago. Those people were
people he once knew. They were the same people that has cheered him on
when he played Blitzball and even some were dear friends of his that he
knew personally. Then as he stood there, looking at them, he wondered
why hadn’t he met the same fate. Auron of course was the one responsible
for bringing him a thousand years into the future. Then the fayth came
to him in a dream and told him that he also was merely a dream that
fayth had created but also that he had become more than one.

“ Why am I alive? Shouldn’t I be in the Farplane or something like
that?” Tidus thought to himself. Ideas of how he was alive suddenly started
to fill his head. Was it because the fayths had been so pleased with
him that they given him a physical life or was it because something that
Auron did?

“ I’ll probably never know...” Tidus said out loud. Ryanna looked at
Tidus in confusion and leaned forward a little.

“ What did you say Tidus?” Ryanna asked confused as Tidus snapped out
of his thoughts again. Shaking his head and smiling he closed the book
and handed it back to Ryanna. She was about to say something when a loud
knocking sound came through the house. Sighing Ryanna stood up and set
the book on the desk. Looking out the window she shook her head and
walked toward the door.

“ Be right back Tidus.” Ryanna said before walking out the door and
this time leaving it open. Ryanna slowly turned and walked down the long
hallway. Along the were paintings of snow and landscapes. As Ryanna
neared the stairs another loud knock came from on the first floor and she
sighed.

“ Just a minute!” Ryanna yelled as she hurried down the wooden stairs.
As she stepped off the last step she walked toward a small door and
opened it. A young man was bright brown hair and green eyes was standing
there was package.

“ Hey Ryanna!” the young man said with glee in his voice. Ryanna
reached forward with open arms and hugged the man. Patting his back they
separated and Ryanna took the package.

“ Thank you so much Baccus. Oh boy you don’t know how badly I needed
paint. I was nearing the end of my supply of gray and red and I can’t
paint without those colors.” Ryanna said gratefully. Baccus laughed and
looked back, as so did Ryanna. Not to far behind them was a small cart
with a chocobo in the front. Smiling Ryanna gently set the package down
on the bookshelf near the door Ryanna walked out into the cold air and
walked up to the chocobo. As she neared the chocobo warked happily as
walked up to Ryanna. Bending it’s head down she gently pet it’s beak then
it’s soft feathery head. Ryanna smiled and Baccus walked up behind her
and gave her a seed that the chocobo’s eat. Taking the seed she held it
out on the middle of her palm and the chocobo gently took it and eat
it. Laughing Ryanna looked back up at the window where Tidus was watching
with sad eyes.

Slowly opening her eyes Yuna found herself in a small bed. Her
vision was blurry at first and after she blinked a few times her vision
cleared enough for her to see clearly. The sound of crickets filled the air
and darkness slowly seeped from outside into the small cozy hut. Then
the sound of a soft snore came from near her. Turning her attention to
the left of her she saw Wakka sitting in a chair, not to far from her,
sleeping and snoring at that too. Putting her hand over her mouth she
gently laughed and then sat up on the bed. Moving her feet onto the
ground she slowly stood up and looked around. Letting her eyes get adjusted
to the darkness she slowly made her way toward the exit silently. When
she neared the exit she then hit her foot hard on one of the stools and
that made it fall over along with a small crashing noise that arose in
the air. Wakka stirred than awoke from his sleep and acting all
panicky.
“ Who? Wha?? Ok, whoever you are, show yourself!” Wakka said standing
up and sleepily looking around. Yuna sighed and hit herself mentally
for being so stupid.

“ Of course there’s a stool there.....Yuna your so stupid!” Yuna
thought to herself. Looking around she grabbed a small match and lit it.
Looking forward she could see the outline of a candle on Wakka’s table.
Bringing the match toward the candle she lit it and blew the match out. As
the candle light slowly filled the hut Wakka looked at Yuna and sighed.
Shaking his head and resting one hand on his forehead.

“ Yuna...you should be in bed....you still look awfully pale.” Wakka
scowled as he looked at Yuna with alot of concern on his face. Yuna
smiled and looked at Wakka with a happy face.

“ I’m fine Wakka...I just haven’t been getting enough rest lately so I
guess it caught up with me today.” Yuna said as she bent the upper
part of her body forward and looked apolitically at the ground. Wakka
rubbed his head and sighed.

“ Yuna...it’s ok...just promise me that you’ll get some sleep?” Wakka
said as he watched Yuna. Yuna stood up and looked at Wakka as her eyes
filled with tears. Wakka’s face turned sad also and he was about ready
to cry too. Walking up to Yuna he hugged her as she started to cry into
his shoulder. He gently patted her back and he couldn’t help but feel
sorry for her. The look in her eyes would of wanted Sin to fall down and
cry. Her soul was dieing and there was no question about it. Her soul
and heart was about to break...she had suffered so much the past year
and yet she still continued to suffer it. Wakka had seen it since they
had first gotten to the Calm Lands the last year. Tidus and Yuna had
proven to the world that a summoner shouldn’t have to sacrifice themselves
just so that Spira could of been happy for a couple of years. Wakka
knew what happened in the spring that night when they had escaped from
Bevelle and Seymour. Tidus had given Yuna strength to go on with her
pilgrimage and also he had given her the gift of love.

“ Yuna....you just gotta have faith....I don’t know how but I know that
he will return to you ok?” Wakka said as Yuna lifted her head from his
shoulder and wiped her tears away. Yuna looked at Wakka for a minute
then nodded. Wakka smiled and then gently and playfully punched Yuna in
the shoulder and laughed.

“ Come on Yuna! Let’s see that beautiful smile, ya?” Wakka asked
happily. Yuna didn’t want to smile but then it just kinda sucked up on her.
Slowly a smile appeared on her face and as it grew the more she wanted
to laugh until she finally did. As they laughed Lulu and Kimahri walked
in with a sign of relief on their face. Yuna then stopped and looked at
Lulu. Walking up to her Yuna hugged her a little and sighed.

“ I’m sorry for the trouble I have cased you Lulu. I hope you can
forgive me.” Yuna said as she looked at the ground with a sad face again.
Lulu smiled and shook her head.

“ There is nothing to be sorry for Yuna. You are like a little sister
to Wakka, Kimahri and me. We would be willing to do anything for you if
you ask. Just don’t overdue yourself ok?” Lulu said as she rested a
hand on her shoulder. Yuna nodded and then looked at Kimahri. Kimahri
smiled and then also nodded. Smiling again Yuna walked toward the exit of
the hut then walked out into the night. Kimahri looked at Wakka and Lulu
and then also followed out the hut. Lulu sighed and looked at Wakka,
who also did the same. Lulu blushed and then looked away for a minute.

“ So...uh...what do you want to do?” Lulu asked as she folded her arms
in front of her chest. Wakka looked at Lulu and shrugged.

“ Well....it would be nice to talk.....do you wanna go somewhere else?”
Wakka asked as he blushed a little. Smiling a small smile she walked
out of the tent with Wakka not to far behind.
********
Yuna slowly walked toward the temple doors as she stopped in front
of them. Looking at them she remembered all the years she spent here,
training to become a summoner so that she could help her people and give
back something for their kindness. She was ready to give her life but
instead she ended up living. She wanted to rejoice that she had lived
and destroyed Sin finally but...she couldn’t. Sighing a heavy sigh she
opened the temple doors and walked into the large circular room. Keeping
her attention on a certain statue she smiled and stopped in front of
it. Bowing her head she looked back up at the statue and looked at it
calmly.

“ Hello Father....it’s been awhile.” Yuna began slowly. Sighing again
she looked at the ground, trying to find the words to say. Looking back
up she sighed and held her hand at her chest.

“ I am suffering father.....my heart is heavy with grief, sorrow, and
anger father. I miss him so much.....I just....I just want to lay down
and die but I know I cannot....please Father...give me strength....”
Yuna ended as she stared at the statue with tired and sad eyes. Silence
rang through the halls as Yuna sighed. As she turned to leave she heard
the Hymn of the Fayth start to fill her ears. Looking back at the statue
she then saw a small circle of mist form in the base of the statue and
float to the same height as Yuna’s head. Yuna watched in shock and
confusion as it floated toward the Cloister of Trails.

“ Yuna......Lady Yuna.....” a soft voice whispered from the floating
mist. Yuna looked confused then started to walk toward it. As she neared
it, it disappeared into the Cloister of Trials and Yuna followed it.
Pushing the door open she looked around and saw it’s light disappear down
the hall and go further into trails. Running down the stairs she
followed it to the elevator where it lead to the Chamber of the Fayth.
Looking cautiously around she looked at the mist floating and tried to speak.

“ Who are you?” Yuna asked to it slowly. The mist didn’t answer but
merely went through the floor and disappeared into the room below. Yuna
slowly approached the elevator and stepped onto it. As she did the
elevator was activated and it slowly made its way down to the room below.
Memories kept flooding into her mind as she remembered every day she would
of made daily trips here and pray to the fayth in order to be a
summoner and she got her wish finally. As the elevator stopped she looked at
the pitch dark room up ahead. She would of expected to hear the song of
the fayth but since the fayth had stopped dreaming there was no reason
for summoners anymore. As she stepped into the small room the torches
suddenly lit and the room suddenly filled with light. Yuna gasped and
then looked around in confusion. As the light filled the room the song
of the fayth started to rise and rise until she could hear it plainly.
As she walked into the middle of the room she looked toward the door to
the chamber of the fayth and the mist was floating there, without
movement.

“ Who are you?” Yuna asked as she raised her voice. The mist slowly
floated to the ground and then a blinding white light filled the room.
Yuna shielded her eyes from the light as it grew and grew until it dimmed
enough for her to see. When the light vanished she looked as her eyes
widened in surprise. There standing in front of stood none other than
Yuna’s mother. Her mouth wide open and her eyes widened with shock Yuna
tried to say something but words just failed to exit out her mouth. Her
mother’s soft eyes were filled with happiness and love as she looked at
her daughter.

“ Hello Yuna. It is nice to see you.” Yuna’s mother spoke softly as she
slowly walked toward Yuna. Stopping a few feet from her Yuna finally
getting out of the shocked stage looked at her mother and shook her head
slowly.

“ Mother.....I....oh my...I....can’t believe it’s you!” Yuna stuttered
as she looked at her mother. Her mother merely smiled and gently raised
a ghostly hand and set it on her daughters shoulder, going through her
a little bit.

“ My dear daughter....I am so very proud of you and look how beautiful
you are.....my how you have grown.” Yuna’s mother gently spoke as she
used her other hand and set it on Yuna’s cheek. Yuna smiled and closed
her eyes slowly. Yuna’s mother smiled sweetly and gently took away her
hand slowly.
“ My sweet child...I want to tell you so much but...I fear I have
little time.” Yuna’s mother spoke as few face turned to a sad one. Yuna
looked up and stared at her mother with eyes of sadness but she understood
and nodded.

“ Yuna...though you and your friends gave hope and peace to the world
of Spira....I fear that....you efforts....have been in vain. Although
you got rid of Sin and Seymour....a greater evil than them combined is
coming and will emerge within a matter of days now.” Yuna’s mother said
as she stared at her daughter. As the sound of this Yuna stepped back a
couple of steps and shook her head.

“ But....but we defeated Sin....we defeated Seymour!!!” Yuna said in
disbelief. Yuna’s mother looked at the ground in sorrow and shook her
head slowly.

“ Yes...you defeated them but....Yu Yevon yet served someone else. A
man that had a heart of pure evil. His power was unimaginable and many
people feared him. Two thousand years ago this man ruled over Spira and
he controlled the people with fear. The people of Spira served him in
fear for more than six hundred years then....one man stepped up and
defied this evil man. The first summoner that ever stepped on Spira’s land
and his name was Beron. High Summoner Beron arose against the man and
defeated him. By defeating him and weakening him greatly Beron banished
him. This man swore he would return and for the last two thousand years
he has been slowly regaining strength and now....finally....he has
enough to arise again. He will arise within a matter of days now.” Yuna’s
mother explained importantly. Yuna stared at her mother in disbelief and
then her eyes softened. Looking down at the ground Yuna slowly looked
back into her mother’s eyes and nodded.

“ I will protect this world even at the cost....of my life.” Yuna
whispered and smiled a small smile. Yuna’s mother let out a sigh of relief
and was about to say something when spirits started to rise around her.
Yuna looked around her and then back to her mother’s face. Her mother
closed her eyes sadly and then opened them to reveal tears slowly
dripping down her elegant face.

“ I have to go now Yuna....but don’t worry....I’ll always be in your
heart.” Yuna’s mother said as she started to drift backwards and slowly
vanish with every inch she took. Yuna wanted to run to her and yell for
her to stay but she knew in her heart that she had no control over that
and that fate itself, sometimes, could be cruel. Yuna took a few steps
forward and then watched in pain as her mother went away but before she
did Yuna’s mother gave her a warming, loving look and looked at her
with eyes that could of melted all the snow off of Mt. Gagazet.

“ Don’t worry Yuna, your soul......he’s alive....” Yuna’s mother said
as she faded into the nothing, leaving the room as it was before. Yuna
looked around the lit room again and didn’t hear the Hymn of the Fayth
but only the torches were lit. Looking at the ground confused and a
little scared she turned to the exit and slowly stared to walk toward it.

“ My soul is......alive....” Yuna repeated softly to herself as she
exited out of the room. She got to the exit and then looked at the ground
with a shocked look on her face.

“ Tidus is.......alive?!”
*********************

Wakka and Lulu slowly walked along the cliff path of Besaid and they
were silent. Only their footsteps and heavy breathing could be heard as
they continued down the path. Wakka finally looked up at Lulu and was
about ready to say something when he chickened out. Blushing, he slowly
regained his courage and tried again to speak as they stepped onto one
of the bridges that went by the falls.

“ Um...Lulu.....” Wakka slowly began as she stopped and looked at Wakka
with a small smile. Wakka stood a few feet in front of her and looked
at her face. Her soft crimson eyes made contact with Wakka’s brown ones
and, already, Wakka was weakening inside. Wakka just couldn’t hide his
feelings anymore, his heart and soul....wouldn’t allow it.

“ Yes Wakka?” Lulu spoke softly and with a curious tone in her voice.
Wakka took a deep breath and forced down the big lump in his throat.
Rubbing his head he slowly walked up to her and made eyes contact again.
Wakka’s knee’s were about ready to give out but he forced his strength
to stay in them. He just had to tell her.....he just had too.

“ Lulu....there’s something I’ve been meaning to...tell you these past
few years but...I never got the courage to do it so I want to say it
now...” Wakka said barely above a whisper. Lulu’s heart inside her nearly
jumped out of her throat as she heard what Wakka had just said.

“ Could he possibly feel the same way I feel?” Lulu thought to herself.
She had to find out and she had to find out tonight.

“ Wakka....there’s something I want to tell you too.” Lulu said slowly.
She closed her eyes and sighed a soft sigh. Her heart and soul seemed
to be screaming at the top of their lungs to tell him but her head, also
screaming, was telling her no. What if he rejected her after she said
it? What if he never spoke to her again? Lulu suddenly felt confused and
then opened her eyes again. Wakka was looking at her with eyes she had
never seen him use before. His eyes were so soft and full of compassion
that it made Lulu’s legs weak just by looking at them. Wakka had never
felt this strongly about someone before but...what if Lulu never talked
to him again if he told her? Wakka closed his eyes and gathered up the
courage....it was time to say.

“ Lulu....I....I love you.” Wakka said clearly as he looked into her
eyes. Wakka had finally said it but....he would know expect Lulu to walk
away and never speak to him again but...instead...she stared at Wakka
with warm eyes and she smiled.

“ Wakka.....I....love...you too. I just never had the courage to tell
you. I was afraid you’d reject me and be afraid to talk to me after I
told you.” Lulu said in a whisper so that only Wakka could hear it. Wakka
gently lifted his right hand and set it on Lulu’s cheek. Lulu sighed in
happiness and closed her eyes slowly and happily. Ever since Chappu had
died she swore to herself that she would never fall in love again
but...her heart wouldn’t allow it. Slowly, over time, her heart healed and
fell in love again with Wakka. Her soul didn’t feel so empty anymore,
but yet whole and warm. Opening her eyes she locked her eyes with Wakka’s
and they stared into each other’s eyes. Slowly, ever so slowly, they
neared each other until finally Wakka’s lips covered hers. A jolt of
electricity was sent through Wakka’s body the instant his lips touched her
velvet ones. The jolt traveled through his back causing him to want to
jump but he didn’t. Lulu couldn’t believe what was happening to her.
She felt so happy and warm inside and she hadn’t felt this feeling since
Chappu but....he was gone and he would of wanted her to be happy and
this did make her feel....happy. Slowly moving her arms around Wakka’s
neck she pulled herself closer and kissed back. Wakka lifting his other
hand and cupping her chin in it also kissed back as the passion between
each other grew and grew.

Off in the distance Kimahri was watching and smiling. Shaking his head
and turning around he closed his eyes and walked back to Besaid
village. With a huge grin on his face he opened his eyes and stared at the
starry night sky that filled the heavens.

“ Finally....those two confessed their love for each other....Kimahri
was wondering when they would....” Kimahri spoke softly as he slowly
walked back to the small village of Besaid.

Rikku tossed and turned in her bed, trying her hardest to find a
comfortable spot to settle down and sleep but it was of no use. Sighing she
sat up in her bed and looked around. It was dark outside and very cold
as it is. Deserts can be very harsh during the day with it’s scorching
temperatures but yet during the night it got so cold that you would
wish day would come. Rubbing her temple she slowly opened her spiral green
eyes and stood up from her bed. Slipping off her gray tang top and her
black pj bottoms she pulled on her normal clothes and walked outside
into the chilling air. Rubbing her arms she walked out onto the sand and
looked back at the small tent she was trying to sleep in. Along the
tent were many others that were dark except one of them. Sighing she
recognized the tent and walked toward it. A small light glowing through the
tent’s small frame and she called in softly.

“ Dad? You awake?” Rikku called in. From inside she could hear her
father grumble yes so she opened up the tent to find him inside and working
with a ton of papers. Shaking her head and smiling a small smile she
looked at Cid with a disturbed face. Cid looked up from his paper work
and sighed.

“ Rikku...what are you doing up? We got alot of work ahead of us
tomorrow and I need your help by you getting some sleep and restoring your
strength.” Cid asked as he rubbed his temple with his rough fingers.
Rikku sat down in front of him and had a serious look on her young 17 year
old face. Cid knew that look very well and that meant she was planning
something and nothing or nobody on this planet could stop her from
doing it.

“ Dad.....I...need to talk to you about something.” Rikku said with a
serious tone but her eyes showed concern and sadness. Cid sighed and
shook his head slowly. He knew what she was going to tell him and it meant
she was leaving and leaving him to wonder if his daughter was going to
be alright or not but....she was 17 now and he couldn’t hold on to her
forever now.

“ Your worried about Yuna aren’t you?” Cid asked plainly and simple.
Rikku closed her eyes slowly and nodded her head as she continued to look
at her father. Cid sighed and stood up. Walking outside the tent Rikku
slowly followed and Cid looked at the starry night against the cold
air. Looking at the ground he turned around to see his daughter staring at
her with pleading eyes.

“ Father....let me go help Yunnie. You got more than enough Al Bhed
here to help you and besides....she’s my cousin and I want to help her.”
Rikku said with a worried tone in her voice. Cid sighed and looked at
the ground. She was right about her cousin. Yuna did look like she needed
some family there and Rikku seemed like just the person to go help out.
Cid nodded and looked at his daughter with a smile.

“ I’m sending the airship tomorrow to go to Besaid and get some more
supply’s. You can ride with them if you want. Yeah....go help Yuna.” Cid
said as he smiled. Rikku, over whelmed with joy, jumped onto her father
and hugged him. Cid, caught off guard, nearly fell over but managed to
keep his footing. Patting Rikku’s back she finally let go and kissed
her father’s cheek.

“ Thank you so much daddy!” Rikku said as she looked toward her tent.
Cid nodded and Rikku slowly walked back to her camp. Cid entered his
tent and blew out the small candle. Slowly falling asleep Rikku wasn’t to
far behind him.

In the Farplane spirits slowly gathered as Yuna’s mother appeared and
walked toward a waiting Braska. Smiling Braska gathered his wife in his
arms and hugged her as she hugged him back. After awhile she let go and
sighed.

“ It was so good to see her again but...I wish I had more time to tell
her how I feel.” Yuna’s mother said softly as a tear slid down her
slender face. Braska wiped it away and smiled at his wife.

“ She knows how you feel about her darling. What I’m afraid of now is
this new evil coming. This man by the name of Darsus. He is more
powerful than Seymour and Yu Yevon put together. How is Yuna going to do it?”
Braska said worryingly. Yuna’s mother sighed and looked to the right of
them. Seeing Jecht and Auron she looked at her husband then back to
them.
“ Darling....I think I have a idea.” Yuna’s mother spoke softly. Braska
looked down at his wife as she explained her idea.

“ This new evil that is coming might be too much for Yuna and her
guardians. They will need help...no matter how great their power may be....I
think I should call the fayth and talk to them about Auron and Jecht
going back to the living world.....alive in flesh and blood.” Yuna’s
mother spoke calmly. Braska merely looked at Auron and Jecht and nodded.

“ I think they would like that very much.....” Braska said as he mainly
focused his attention to Auron. “ Very much so.....”

Chapter 5
Return of the Forgotten

Yuna’s footsteps hurryingly ran through the temple as she ran toward
the exit. Her breathing was sharp and fast, her hair flowed slowly back
and forth as if time its was slowing down almost to a complete stop.
Her legs lifted up fast and then went back down toward the ground as her
black boot landed on the stone ground and made a small echo ring
through the air. As she neared the door she held out her hands and pushed the
door open. As they opened she slipped through the doors when she could
barely fit through and ran down toward the small village. Her heart
raced with joy and delight as she ran toward Wakka’s hut. As she reached
the stairs she jumped over the three steps and landed not to far away
from them. As she landed she landed on her feet but stumbled and was
forced onto her hands and knees. After a quick moment of catching her
breath she got back up and ran into Wakka’s hut.

“ Wakka! Lulu! Kimahri!” Yuna called as she pushed the cloth aside and
looked into the hut. Looking in confusion she looked around but saw
nothing. The dim light from the candle softly flickered ever few seconds
and its shadow slowly reflected all over the room. As the small orange
light from the candle slowly filled the room, making it seem like it was
safe from evil. Light always seemed to drive away the darkness and no
matter what it did the darkness could never return to the original state
it was. The warm light of the candle seemed to be warm and safe and
that was what Yuna felt when Tidus held her in his arms. She felt for the
first time in her life truly safe and for that feeling she would give
anything to feel again. Entering the hut Yuna slowly walked in and
looked around at the small cozy hut. When she came to the island all those
years ago she saw Wakka’s hut for the first and thought it was the most
cozy thing she had ever seen and she still thought that. Not noticing
Kimahri entering the hut he slowly entered and looked at Yuna a little
confused.

“ Yuna?” Kimahri’s deep voice spoke. Yuna jumped in surprise and turned
around to see Kimahri. Putting a hand on her chest and letting out a
sigh of relief she looked up at her loyal friend and looked at Kimahri as
he noticed something different about it. It wasn’t her looks or the way
she was dressed but....it was merely something n her eyes. Her eyes
instead of cold and empty were now full of hope and love as they glittered
and something that hadn’t showed up on her face showed up just
now....she smiled a true smile. Kimahri looked at Yuna and looked at her
questionably.

“ Yuna......what happened?” Kimahri asked as he stepped forward and
stared at Yuna in concern. Yuna sat down on Wakka’s bed and looked up at
Kimahri. She was about to say something when she heard laughing outside
that were very familiar voices. Wakka and Lulu walked in and saw Yuna
and Kimahri with one happy face while the other had a worried
expression. Wakka looked back and forth at Kimahri and Yuna and Lulu walked up to
Yuna and gently placed a hand on her shoulder as she sat down next to
her. Wakka walked up next to Kimahri and watched Yuna, confused.

“ Yuna.....what is it?” Lulu asked as Yuna looked back at forth between
her best friends and took a deep breath. Closing her beautiful eyes she
slowly exhaled the air out of her lungs and opened her eyes once again
and began to tell of what happened.
“ I.....saw my mother......” Yuna began slowly. Wakka looked shocked as
did Kimahri but Lulu’s expression was merely the same. Not shocked
but....confused and somewhat calm....as if she knew this was going to
happen but then of course...Lulu’s face was always hard to decode. Yuna
looked at her friends again and sighed. Turning her attention to the floor
she slowly opened her mouth and continued to explain.

“ My mother came to me and told me that all the sacrifices and hard
work we did the last year.....was all in vain. She spoke of another
man...that Yu Yevon served.” Yuna said as she closed her eyes sadly. Wakka,
Lulu, and Kimahri gasped at this and Wakka stepped forward.

“ Whoa, whoa, whoa!! Back up!” Wakka said as he stared at Yuna in
surprise and then shook his head with the same shocked expression on his
face. Walking up to Yuna he just shook his head in disbelief and tried to
speak but no words came. Rubbing the back of his neck he sighed and
then looked back at Yuna who still had the same expression on her face.

“ Your telling me that you saw your mother, who is dead, and she told
you that all the sacrifices and hard work we did last year were all for
nothing! You mean to tell me that there is something more out there!
That Yu Yevon served someone else! Then that means that Tidus......”
Wakka started but couldn’t finish the sentence. Tidus was like a brother to
him but now.....he was gone. Yuna stood up and walked to Wakka. He
looked at Yuna with concern as she gently placed a hand on his shoulder.

“ Wakka.....Tidus is alive.” Yuna spoke softly with a glitter of hope
in her voice and eyes. Wakka looked shocked again at Yuna and sat down
in a chair. Kimahri looked back and forth between Yuna and Wakka and
then spoke.

“ How does Yuna know....Tidus is alive?” Kimahri spoke as he folded his
arms in front of his chest and looked at Yuna seriously. Yuna turned to
Kimahri and sighed. Bringing her hand together in front of her chest
and clutched them together and looked at Kimahri with eyes of hope again.

“My mother really came to me Kimahri! She told me my soul was alive
and...I know in my heart that he is too. Fate tried to separate us Kimahri
but......our love for each other proved stronger. Please we got to go
look for him!” Yuna said as she poured her whole soul into the words.
These words were from a brave, strong, courageous, and loving soul...a
soul that belonged to Yuna. Yuna had suffered far worse than anyone of
the tragic time of Sin but now that it was over she continued to suffer.
Kimahri knew that this was this was a chance for her heart and soul to
be healed and Kimahri knew she had to do this. Gently raising a giant
paw and resting it on Yuna’s shoulder Kimahri looked at Yuna and smiled.
Yuna knew from that look that he believed her and that again, he would
follow her anywhere. Lulu stood up and looked at Yuna.

“ I believe you too Yuna and I will follow you anywhere you go.” Lulu
said with a soft touch in her voice. Wakka looked at Lulu and then to
Yuna. Sighing and shaking his head he stood up to and gave Yuna a
apologetic look.

“ I’m sorry Yuna. I kinda over reacted there....and I, too, will follow
you anywhere and help you anyway I can.” Wakka said with a smile on his
face. Overcome with happiness Yuna suddenly hugged him and cried a
little.

“ Thank you so much! You don’t know what this means to me! Now....I’ll
finally be able to see him again!” Yuna said as a few tears slid down
her face. Wakka gently patted her back as Kimahri and Lulu watched with
happiness on their faces. Letting go Yuna turned to her other friends
and bowed her head. Lifting her head back up she slowly walked to the
bed and sat back down on it.

“ Now....onto business. My mother told me the history of Spira two
thousand years ago. During that time a evil man once ruled the world of
Spira by using immense evil power. The people of Spira were afraid to
stand up to him because anyone who did were killed on the spot but...one
man named Beron stood up and was the first man to ever become a summoner.
With the aeons at his side he defeated the man and banished him
but...now....the evil man has been regaining power for the last two thousand
years, waiting for the day he would be strong enough to emerge again and
that day will come in a matter of days.” Yuna explained as Wakka, Lulu,
and Kimahri listened carefully. Wakka sighed and rubbed his head.

“ Here we go again....” Wakka said as he looked down at he ground. Lulu
sighed and rubbed her eyes.

“ It is getting late....we shall finish discussing this in the morning
ok?” Lulu suggested. They all agreed as they nodded their heads.
Kimahri and Yuna slowly walked out of the tent with Lulu not to far behind
them. Wakka went to his bed and sat down on  it. As he laid his head down
on the pillow he stared up at the ceiling and thought of what was to
come
*********************

Ryanna opened the door to her house and walked in with her paints
and closed the door as she heard Baccus and his chocobo walk off into the
night. Gently putting her paints down she walked toward a book shelf
and pulled down some matches. Lighting one she walked toward a long,
slender candle and lit it. As the light from the candle grew she blew out
the match and threw it away. Putting the matches down onto the book
shelf she took the candle and started walking around, lighting other
candles that were hanging up on the wall. As she walked toward the stairs she
sighed and thought of the look she saw Tidus have on his face.

“ He must miss someone.....I know that look very well...” Ryanna said
softly as she turned her attention back to the stairs and started to
walk up them. When she reached the top she started to walk down the
hallway, lighting candles as she approached them until finally she reached
the last door, which lead into Tidus’s room. Slowly opening the door she
peaked her head in and looked around. The room was dark and cold except
for the window. The snow had stopped and the full moon showed clearly
and brightly as the stars by it glittered a eternal light of hope and
love. The light from the moon filled the room, making it show a light
silver glow that was so calm it was almost haunting. Tidus was still in
the same chair, just staring out into the endless sea of stars. The
silvery light showed brightly on his face and reflected off his cerulean
eyes. His eyes were so empty that it was haunting and could make anyone
want to cry. Ryanna pushed open the door and walked in fully. Holding the
candle firmly in her left hand she slowly walked up to the candles,
hanging on the sides of the walls and lit them. Light slowly grew until
there was enough light to see clearly. Tidus slowly looked up at Ryanna
and then sighed.

“ You missing someone?” Ryanna asked suddenly as she gently blew out
the candle she was holding. Tidus turned his attention from the sky to
Ryanna. Sighing he leaned back into the chair and lifted one of his hands
to his forehead. Gently letting it rest there he closed his eyes and
mouthed the word yes. Ryanna gently set the candle down on the desk and
pulled a chair in front of Tidus. Sitting down on it she leaned forward,
resting her arms on the tops of her legs and looked at Tidus seriously.
Tidus looked at her face and she smiled a little.

“ Your one of the people that saved us from Sin last year....aren’t
you?” Ryanna asked slowly as she leaned her back against the chair and
smiled. Tidus looked at Ryanna in confusion as she merely smiled and gave
him a look.

“ How had she known?” Tidus thought to himself. Shaking his head and
snapping back to reality he slowly gave Ryanna a very serious look back
and nodded his head. Ryanna nodded her and smiled a smile of success and
importance. Tidus sighed and looked back toward the sky. As he watched
the stars they seemed to trigger memories that suddenly filled his
mind. Memories of first entering the mysterious world of Spira, meeting all
of his friends, going around and collecting all the aeons,
and....seeing his father for the first time in ten years. When they faced Yu Yevon
Tidus knew that he times was coming to a close but...he didn’t want to
leave. He already knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life
with Yuna and his friends but the fayth and fate wouldn’t allow that.
Now...he was alive and somehow in flesh and blood. Ryanna slowly stood up
and looked toward the window. Smiling to herself she looked back at
Tidus who was watching her with eyes of emptiness. Sighing she looked at
Tidus and gently placed her hand on his shoulder.

“ It’s late....we’ll discuss things in the morning and I’ll start to
help you regain the strength in your legs starting tomorrow too. Come
on....” Ryanna said softly. Tidus had to admit he was tired so he nodded
his head and started to pull himself up from the chair. Ryanna put his
right arm over her shoulder and helped him walk to the bed on the far
corner of the room. He slowly sat down on it as Ryanna pulled the covers
down enough for him to slide into the bed. Tidus sighed and looked
around the room that was once in darkness but wasn’t anymore. Breathing in
deeply he slid his legs into the bed and pulled the covers up to his
waist. Ryanna slowly walked to the candles and then looked back at Tidus.

“ Do you want these out?” Ryanna asked before she attempted to blow
them out. Tidus looked at Ryanna and nodded his head. Smiling she blew out
all the candles in his room and walked toward the door. Walking out she
looked back at Tidus for a moment who wasn’t looking at her, sighed and
then slowly walked out and closed the door behind her. Lying back in
the bed Tidus laid his head on the soft feathery pillows and stared up at
the dark ceiling. Tiredness slowly approaching him it finally took toll
on his body and his eyes slowly closed as he fell into a deep sleep.

( In Tidus’s Dream)

Blinding sunlight streamed down onto Tidus’s face, making him raise
his right hand to shield his eyes from the blazing rays. The sound of
seagulls crying their cry filled Tidus’s ears and the crashing sound of
waves filled the air around him as he moved his hand away to see
crystal blue water in front of him that was part of the majestic sea. Tidus
looked around confused and saw the scenery around him. The white, hot
sand was to the left and right of him as it met the cool waters of the
sea. As the wind blew past him it made his hair flow over his face as he
breathed in the salt water smell as it filled his lungs. Exhaling
loudly he then heard laughter behind him as he turned around he let out a
loud gasp as his eyes widened in shock. There standing in front of him
was Yuna, laughing and smiling. Tears welled up in his eyes as he saw her
and he tried to run to her. Closer and closer with each step his heart
began to race and his breath became sharper. Yuna became closer and
closer as he extended his arms, ready to hold her tight to him and not let
go. As his hand was inches from her arm there was a sudden loud
explosion and the world around him went black. Tidus looked around him and
didn’t see the beach anymore but saw a bare landscape with nothing but
dead around him. Looking around him he saw dead plants, trees and nothing
but sand. The wind fiercely blew around him, causing a high whistling
sound to arise out of nowhere.

“ What’s going on? Where am I?” Tidus spoke as his voice echoed around
him. Silence followed and it was a haunting silence. As he tried to
walk, as he took one step a familiar voice called his name.

“ It is nice to see you again Tidus.” the voice spoke calmly and almost
happily. Tidus looked around, expecting to see someone behind him but
alas there was no one in sight. Tidus looked around in confusion and
wanted to answer but didn’t have the courage too. Then a blinding white
light appeared in front of him, causing Tidus once again to shield his
eyes. This time instead of hearing the ocean he heard soft footsteps
walking toward him. Looking toward the light he saw a small black shadow
walking toward him, a child’s shadow. Finally the light dimming enough
for him to see he looked and again looked shocked. This time the Fayth of
Bahamut was standing before him. The same Fayth that had told him that
he was merely a dream was standing in front of him with a small smile
on his face.

“ Its....you....again...” Tidus spoke slowly at first, still a little
shocked. The fayth merely smiled and looked at him with warm eyes.

“ Are you not happy to see me?” the fayth asked with a small voice as
he took a few steps closer to Tidus. Tidus didn’t know what to answer.
To be honest he really wasn’t happy to see him because he was the same
fayth that had told him he was merely a dream and that he couldn’t spend
much time in the world of Spira much longer after that. The fayth’s had
separated Yuna and him and for that he wasn’t easily willing to
forgive.

“ I know you are angry with us fayth but... I am hear to tell you of
something important along with good news and bad news.” the fayth said
cutting to the point. Tidus watched the fayth cautiously and then waited
for the news. The fayth let out a small sigh and then turned his face
serious.

“ I fear that....all your hard work and the things you did last
year...were all in vain. Let me tell you a short story of the history of
Spira...” the fayth began as Tidus looked at the fayth as if he had a knife
sticking out of his head. Tidus couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
All the hard work and sacrifices that Yuna, himself and his friends had
to make were all for nothing. They had set their hearts, souls, and
minds into setting Spira free from the spiral of sorrow forever but
now...only a year later....something else was threatening the world again.
Tidus didn’t need to hear it from the fayth. He could tell from the look
in the fayth’s eyes. They showed disappointment, tiredness, and
something else.....expectancy? Opening his eyes he looked at the fayth as he
started to explain.

“ Two thousand years ago this world was controlled by a evil and very
powerful man named Darsus. He used his powers to control the people of
Spira so he put them into slavery. Not caring if the whole species of
humans were wiped out he continued to control them in fear and if anyone
dared to rise against him he would of killed them on the spot. Then a
man named Beron stood up and swore to the people that he would lead them
to freedom and then he became the first summoner to ever set foot on
Spira’s land. With the aeons he defeated Darsus and in doing so, Beron
banished Darsus but what Beron didn’t know is that Darsus had planned on
returning once again as his powers grew over the years. Now two
thousand years later he is ready to rise once again and I’m afraid he will in
a matter of days.” the fayth explained as Tidus’s face grew more and
more angry.

“ ENOUGH!” Tidus yelled suddenly as the fayth looked surprised by
Tidus’s reaction. Tidus clutched his hands together and his chest heaved up
and down with emotion and anger. Rage filled his eyes as he looked at
the fayth with anger.

“ Why me? Of all the people in Spira why me? I was happy to help Yuna
destroy Sin but before you told me I was just a dream I had already
decided that I never wanted to leave her side but you stupid fayths had to
go and decide to tear us apart. We loved each other...we LOVED each
other damn it! We were ready to stay together forever but you had to go
ruin our lives and tear us apart! How dare you come up to me and expect
me just to go out again, save the world, and be sent away again and hurt
Yuna and me even more! HOW DARE YOU!!!” Tidus yelled at the top of his
lungs to the fayth. The fayth merely looked at the ground and for the
first time Tidus saw shame on his face. Tidus’s body shook with emotion
and anger as his heart raced fast and sharp. The fayth shook his head
slowly and then raised his attention again to meet Tidus’s eyes that
were ready to let tears of pain fall down his face.

“ We.........are sorry.” the fayth spoke briefly. Tidus was shocked by
what he had just heard. The fayth.....sorry?! Tidus looked at the fayth
and didn’t say anything. A deadly silence filled the air as it rang
through Tidus’s ears. The only thing that broke the silence was the fayth
continuing on with what he was saying,

“ As a thank you for what you did for us fayth Tidus.....we gave you
life....in flesh and blood.” the fayth said as a small smile expressed on
his face. Tidus looked down at his hand and looked at his sweaty and
shaking hand. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard. The fayth had
brought him back to life.....he was alive?!

“ I’m alive....than that means.....” Tidus said as his voice was shaky
with emotion and shock. The fayth smiled and shook his head. Happiness
finally entered Tidus’s soul as a small smile appeared on Tidus’s face.
Closing his blue eyes tears of happiness slid down his cheeks as he
looked at the fayth with thankfulness in his watery eyes. The fayth smiled
and let out a small sigh of relief.

“ Tidus.....you must go find your friends and stop the evil coming! You
do not have much time! Oh and...don’t worry.....your legs will be fine
and help is on the way.” the fayth said before he disappeared into thin
air. Tidus tried to grab the fayth and keep him from disappearing but
he failed in getting him and once again he found himself alone. Looking
around confused he didn’t say anything then suddenly he world around
him went black.

( End of dream)

Tidus sat straight up in his bed and breathed heavily as beads of sweat
flowed down his face. His breathing was sharp and raged as his chest
heaved up and down with emotion. Pulling the bed covers off of him he
looked down at his legs and remembered the fayth telling him that his legs
were healed. Looking down at them he wondered if they were true then he
decided to test it out. Slowly shifting his weight to the side of the
bed he slowly pushed himself off of the bed and attempted to stand up.
He slowly stood on his legs and didn’t feel weak. As he took a step and
then another joy grew inside him. He was ready to attempt to go back to
Yuna and he was determined to do so.
******************

Inside the Farplane the fayth’s were gathering in the center of the
Farplane as they talked in wonder of why they were being called forth.
As the child fayth reappeared among them they all watched him walked
beside them as he looked at them with a relieved face.

“ He had agreed to help us.” the child fayth said. The other fayth
smiled and then turned their attention to some footsteps approaching them.
Yuna’s mother slowly walked into the middle of the circle of fayth’s
and looked at them all. Bowing the upper part of her body in respect and
then slowly brought herself up as the fayth watched Yuna’s mother
carefully. Walking slowly around Yuna’s mother spoke positively and
strongly.

“ Thank you for coming mighty fayth. I am thankful you have agreed to
see me. As you all know the time of darkness is returning to the world
of Spira and we all know that once Darsus rises there will be no way of
stopping him...” Yuna’s mother began with a serious look on her face.
The fayth said nothing but merely watched and listened to what Yuna’s
mother had to say.

“ The heroes that defeated Sin and Yu Yevon a year ago have been
informed of this coming event and so far from what we have seen they are
willing to help us again but they will need help no matter how strong or
smart they may be. That is why I propose that you mighty fayth, gather
your powers together and give Sir Jecht and Sir Auron life in flesh and
blood again.” Yuna’s mother finished. The fayth started talking among
each other and one of them stood up, which was the Fayth of Shiva.

“ And if we do what your propose will this will ensure what to Spira’s
future?” the Fayth of Shiva questioned in a serious tone. Yuna’s mother
sighed and gently rubbed a temple. Quickly finishing she looked at the
Fayth of Shiva and answered her question.

“ With the two best guardians of all time, helping the others as well,
this will help ensure the safety of Spira’s future.” Yuna’s mother
answered quickly and trying to hide her annoyance. The Fayth of Shiva
nodded her head and the  started talking with the other fayths. After a few
moments they all went silent as the Fayth of Valefor stood up and
announced their answer.

“ We have agreed to your proposal and we shall do the ancient custom
whenever you and Sir Jecht and Auron are ready.” the Fayth of Valefor
said as they all nodded in agreement. Yuna’s mother again slowly bowed the
upper part of her body and spoke respectfully.

“ Thank you fayth’s. We shall give you our answer shortly.” Yuna’s
mother spoke as she stood back up, turned and walked away slowly. As she
did the fayth all disappeared leaving the area blank and empty as it was
a few minutes ago. Yuna’s mother slowly appeared in a different area
that overlooked the field of flowers as she walked up to her awaiting
husband. As she approached Braska turned around and walked up to her.
Nodding her head Braska nodded back and then walked off to find Auron and
Jecht.
Jecht sighed and rubbed his neck. It had been a long day and it just
kept getting longer and longer. Finding out that Darsus was returning to
Spira and planning on making it a living hell for the people was just
to much for him. He wanted to do something but the question is...what?
He was about to turn around and go to another place when he saw Braska’s
spirit form a few feet away from him and start to walk toward him with
a serious look on his face.

“ Uh oh....Braska....what’s wrong?” Jecht asked as Braska stopped in
front of his friend and looked at him with a very serious look on his
which to Jecht sent chills down his back. Braska sighed and looked at his
friend with a small smile but his eyes showed determination.

“ Jecht...my friend.....you know of this coming darkness and I don’t
think your son, my daughter, and his friends will be able to defeat this
enemy alone. You know what as well as I do.....” Braska began but Jecht
raised a hand and set it on Braska’s shoulder. Smiling a small smile
and laughing a little Jecht looked at his friend and gave him the answer
from the look in his eyes.

“ I would be glad to go......” Jecht said calmly as he patted Braska’s
shoulder and nodded his head. Braska laughed with joy as he patted his
friends shoulder too and Jecht smiled. Off in the distance Auron was
watching Braska and Jecht and he sighed. Turning to leave he was about to
disappear when he heard someone calling his name. Turning around he saw
Yuna’s mother walking toward him with a somewhat calm look on her face.
He stopped and looked at Yuna’s mother with patience and wonder as he
awaited Yuna’s mother to say something.

“ Sir Auron.....we need you to return to the real world...” Yuna’s mom
said cutting right to the point. She expected Auron to say no right off
the bat but he, instead, leaned back against the wall and looked at her
with the same expression as always.

“ Why? Spira doesn’t need another guardian....it has Tidus and his
friends and I belong here...in the Farplane.” Auron said as he turned to
leave. Yuna’s mother, behind his back, gave him a disappointed look and
then faced his way too. After he took a few step Yuna’s mother turned
toward Auron with a changed look on her face.

“ Oh I see.....and what about Reandra?” Yuna’s mother said calmly as
Auron stopped dead in his tracks. Auron looked back at Yuna’s mother with
eyes that could of wanted Sin to back up away from him. His eyes showed
rage and sadness and by the look on his face, if anyone messed with him
in the wrong way he looked like he was about ready to kill. Yuna’s
mother stood her ground as Auron fully turned around and gave her a very
serious look.

“ How do you know of her?” Auron asked as his voice was filled with
pain of the heart and anger from the soul. Yuna’s mother folded her arms
in front of her chest and leaned a little bit to the right.

“ She was my best friend’s daughter. I knew her mother and her, quite
well. After her mother died she couldn’t turn to anyone except you. She
told me that she would of trusted her life in your hands and she
wouldn’t have a problem with that....” Yuna’s mother began to explain while
Auron was silent but shocked by how much she knew. She unfolded her arms
and rested them at her sides.

“ Then all of a sudden you take off and that was right after she got
the sudden news that her father had been killed because he died for the
summoner he protected. She needed someone to rely on and you just go off
and leave her behind too....” Yuna’s mother was interrupted.

“ That’s is enough!” Auron said with real anger in his voice as he
glared at Yuna’s mother with his deep, brown eyes. Yuna’s mother looked a
little shocked and then her face softened and she mainly stared at Auron
with eyes that were filled with sadness.

“ I’m sorry Auron....I guess I went to far....” Yuna’s mother admitted
and sighing a heavy sigh. Auron merely let out a humph and then turned
to leave but then again Yuan’s mother called out to him.

“ Spira, I know doesn’t need another guardian Auron but if you don’t go
all of Spira will be lost and this includes the Farplane....” Yuna’s
mother said as Auron turned around with a questionable look on his face.

“ Yes.....if Darsus succeeds in regaining all his power he will make
this world of Spira a living hell and the spirits in the Farplane will
wander the earth and become fiends....fiends that would do nothing to
stop itself from killing everything in its path....” Yuna’s mother
whispered with a serious look on her face along with a sign of shame. Auron
looked at Yuna’s mother strongly for a minute and then sighed. Running
one hand through his hair he looked at Yuna’s mother and then walked back
toward her.

“ Alright....I’ll go.....” Auron sighed as he walked past her and
toward Braska and Jecht. As he walked away Yuna’s mom slowly eyed Auron and
showed a sign of success show on her face. Putting her hands on her
hips she looked at the three men and slowly closed her eyes as a small
smile appeared on her lips.

“  What is it with men anyway?” Yuna’s mother questioned herself as she
turned and walked away to the place where the fayth were waiting. As
Auron approached the two other men Braska looked over and Auron nodded
his head as he walked toward them. Braska nodded back and he looked back
at Jecht.

“ How is Tidus going to take your return?” Braska asked as Jecht smiled
and scratched his head. Jecht continued to scratch his head and then he
turned around and looked at the scenery.

“ Not very well I think....he always did hate me.....” Jecht said as he
laughed softly. Braska shook his head and raised his right hand to
Jecht’s shoulder.

“ You’d be surprised....” Braska said as Jecht turned his attention
around. Nodding his head he turned around and looked at the silent and as
usual mysterious Auron.

“ So....when were done saving the world again are you gonna go look for
the girl?” Jecht asked as he walked up to his friend. Auron closed his
brown eyes and then turned his back to Jecht and started walking toward
the place were the fayth were waiting. Jecht, confused, looked at Auron
as he walked off with a smiling and laughing Braska behind him.

“ I’ll never fully understand that guy...always so quite and not
willing to say anything.” Jecht said as he looked back at Braska for a
minute. Braska slowly walked up to his friend and then stopped for a minute.
They were silent but something on Jecht’s face made Braska realize that
Spira was in good hands and for that Braska felt glad. Jecht then
slowly walked toward the awaiting fayth, followed by Braska not to far
behind.

Yuna’s mother stood in front of the circle of fayth as Auron and Jecht
appeared. As they approached Yuna’s mother moved out of the way and
they walked into the center of the circle. As they fayth moved to close
the circle they all stared at them with eyes that were filled with
indescribable emotions. A deadly silence rang through the air until finally
one of the fayth’s spoke.

“ Sir Jecht....Sir Auron...you know of what we are about to do?”
Ixion’s fayth spoke as his voice echoed through the air. Jecht and Auron both
nodded at the same time as the other fayth also did.

“ Then go and help your friends save this world of Spira. If you fail
all of Spira will be lost and this includes the spirits of the Farplane.
We.....are counting on you.” Ixion’s fayth spoke seriously as again
Auron and Jecht both nodded. The fayth then all closed their eyes at the
same time and the ancient custom began.

The Hymn of the Fayth then started as it’s song rang through the air
with the haunting voice as the spirits of the Farplane took form and
watched the ancient custom. The Fayth of Valefor then started singing to
the Hymn as a orange light appeared in the middle of the beginning of his
chest and then three spirits flew out of it and started floating in
circles around Jecht and Auron.

The Fayth of Ifrit then, also started singing but also held out his
arms and the symbol of Ifrit then appeared in front of him and it grew
brighter and brighter until it grew so bright that the symbol collapsed
into a tiny little red ball of light and also flew around Jecht and
Auron.

The Fayth of Ixion and Shiva started waving their arms in a majestic
way and a small yellow and blue light started to form in front of them.
As they sang lightning and ice started appearing out of nowhere and
shooting straight into the light in front of them. When they stopped moving
their arms and closed their eyes the lights floated toward the others
as they started to spin.

As the Fayth of Yojimbo started singing in it’s deep baritone voice the
fayth closed his eyes and a small white light started to appear in
front of him. As he sang a long sword slowly appeared in front of him as
the fayth opened his eyes and took the sword in his hand. As he started
doing old techniques with the sword he finally spun it over his head and
then stabbed the sword into the ground. Staying bent down the light
joined the others as if almost reluctant to joining the others.

A high soprano voice soon joined the Hymn as the Fayth of Anima or
Seymour’s mother started to sing with a high and beautiful voice. As she
did the necklace that was on Anima’s neck slowly appeared in front of the
fayth as she opened her eyes and gently used both her hands to grab
onto the sides of the necklace. When her hands touched it the necklace
started to glow in the center till a small black light appeared out of it
and joined the others.

In the end of the circle three sisters started to look up. In the
middle was a small twenty two year old women that had a long, slender body
and long red hair. As she opened her green eyes she started singing the
fayth and a small red seed appeared in front of her and slowly fell to
the ground. As it landed the seed opened up in a large red flower and
the women stood still with her hands cross in front of her chest. In the
middle of the three sisters was a young eleven year old girl with long
blonde hair with bright blue eyes slowly stood up and also started to
sing softly to the hymn and a small yellow seed appeared in front of
her. As it slowly lowered to the ground the young girl’s voice grew louder
and louder until the seed reached the ground and out spread a beautiful
yellow flower and the girl got into the same position as her sister
before. The last sister opened her brown eyes and also joined in unison.
Then she started to spin around slowly as her long brown hair flowed
majestically through the air. A blue seed slowly appeared from the sky and
shot down into the ground as a blue flower appeared from it and the
girl stopped spinning. All the girl sang the hymn beautifully as the
flowers glowed a small light in the center of them and they shot toward he
others, leaving a streak of light in the air to show where they were.

The lights began to spin faster and faster around Jecht and Auron as
the fayth’s singing grew louder and louder. The lights grew brighter and
brighter until Jecht and Auron had to shield their eyes from the
blinding rays of light.

“ Well.....here we go again.” Jecht thought to himself as the songs
grew softer and softer until they could hear it no more and the world went
black.

Chapter 6
The Mysterious Shadow

Darkness had still claimed the world of Spira as the starry sky
was slowly covered by black clouds as they ever slowly moved east over a
large ocean. The calm surface of the ocean slowly started to shift back
and forth, waves started rising out of the mighty water it once laid
in. As if the waves wanted to separate themselves from the ocean they
belonged in, they almost reluctantly fell back into the majestic water
below them. The waves moved toward a small island in the middle of a
ocean. As the waves gathered speed and height the wind suddenly picked up
speed as the wind pushed the waves faster along the sea. The waves then
came crashing down onto a sandy beach that was attached to Bikanel
Island. On the beach there was a young man that was shielding his eyes from
the sudden change of the wind. The young man tried to look around but
the wind had caused the sand to lift up into the air and start to swirl
around. As the sand started to beat against his bare chest he looked
behind him and saw a large piece of machina that was sitting on the
beach. Turning his direction toward it he started to run toward it as fast
as he could. As he reached it he didn’t notice the rock in his path and
he stumbled over it. Falling down into the sand he groaned and felt a
small pain go through his body. Knowing that it wasn’t going to help
just laying there in the sand he slowly got to his feet and ran as fast as
he could, with his hurt ankle, behind the large piece of machina.
Finally shielded from the sand the young man looked down at his ankle to try
and see what was wrong with it but couldn’t with the darkness. Sighing
with disgust he blinked his eyes and looked around.

“ This storm just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I wonder what’s
going on?” the young man spoke with a glint of confusion in his eyes and
voice. Gently moving his hands onto his ankle with tenderness, he gently
felt around his ankle and then stopped as he felt something slowly drip
onto his hands. Lifting one of his hands to his face he clearly could
see his shaking hand, even in the darkness. Fear and shock is easy to
see, even in darkness. For fear and shock fills the whole heart, soul,
and body. Fear or shock seems to have a mind of its own and it always
seems to seep into people, not caring how it effects the person, not
caring how it effects the people around the person. This fear or shock could
lead to so much trouble or hurt but, yet, the feeling doesn’t care. The
young man used his other hand to gently touch the fluid on his hand as
he rubbed the fluid together between his fingers.

“............Blood........” the young man whispered as he dropped his
hand to the ground as the wind suddenly whistled loudly and pierced the
young man’s ears. Leaning his head back against the machina part he
stared up at the starry sky that was being taken over by clouds. Somehow
those clouds seemed not right....almost as if....they were evil. Blood
and evil. They were so much alike and yet at the same time so much
different from one another. Blood would always represent war, death, and
hurt, no matter what it would never change. Evil, like blood, would always
be in the world of Spira and no matter how powerful or good someone or
something was evil would always exist somewhere in someone’s heart or
soul. Turning his attention back to the ground he noticed that the wind
had died down so he slowly got up and turned his attention to the sea.
The waves were still coming down on the shore hard but for some reason
the clouds were starting to spin in the center of the island. The young
man looked somewhat shocked and amazed at the swirling clouds. Slowly
getting up he limped over to the beginning of a long path that inches
its the desert and stared at the center of the clouds. Slowly moving his
attention toward the ground below the swirling clouds he noticed that
they seemed to be centered above the middle of the island. As he tried
to walk he noticed his ankle was still bleeding. Looking at his ankle
with annoyed eyes he looked down at his shirt and got a idea. Reaching
for his shirt he used both his hands to rip a part of it off. Bending
down he slowly and ever so gently, wrapped it around his ankle then stood
up.

“ It isn’t much but it’ll have to do for now until I get back to camp.”
the young man said as he turned his body toward the path and slowly
made his way down the sandy land and limping from time to time as he
walked. As he neared the center of the island he neared a large turn in the
path and the view ahead was blacked by a large boulder. As he turned he
suddenly stopped to see a very steep drop right in front of him.
Looking at the drop with a shocked face he let out a sigh of relief as he was
thankful he didn’t fall down that. Looking around for a route down the
steep path he looked to the far left as he saw a narrow, but quite
steep path. Looking back and forth between the two he decided to take the
path on the far left. Trying to find a way there he saw a narrow part of
a rock right in front of the boulder that was narrow enough for him to
walk on. Rubbing his hands together he looked backed for a second and
then slowly backed up a few steps and then looked at his aim, the ledge.
Then he started a small run and then jumped as he reached the ledge.
His breath became sharp and fast as he jumped toward the ledge. Time
seemed to slow down almost to a stop as his figure slowly floated through
the air toward the small ledge. His eyes showed fear of missing it but
hope that he does reach it. Then his feet reached the ledge as he landed
near the edge of the ledge. As he tried to keep himself from falling
forward he shifted his weight to his back and he fell onto his back as he
was safely on the ledge. Staring up at the swirling clouds he was
breathing heavy breaths of relief as he slowly got up and looked down at the
not far down ground. There were alot of big rocks and in the center
there was a extremely large boulder.

Sighing he turned to jump back and head back to camp when a loud
clap of thunder suddenly filled the air. The thunder was loud and
commanding as light started flashing in the clouds. The wind started to pick up
again as the wind started to spin around, like a small tornado as it
spun around and around the large boulder in the center. Lightning struck
the sides of the boulder as fire started to spread and form a circle
around the boulder. The young man watched in confusion as the wind
started to pick up speed and spin faster and faster until the sand its self
was almost invisible. The fire finally joined together to form a large
circle of fire and as they joined the flames grew larger and larger
until they were almost as big as the boulder. Lightning once again started
to strike the ground as they struck faster and faster until the loudest
clap of thunder reared it’s head and let out a mighty roar. The roar
was loud enough and strong enough to shatter glass in a matter of seconds
and as the thunder roared throughout the air the young man covered his
ears to try and protect his ears from the mighty roar.

“ What the hell is going on?!” the young man said out loud but his
voice was lost to the loud roar as it seemed he hadn’t spoken at all. Then
a large lightning bolt suddenly appeared from the center of the
spiraling clouds and came crashing down onto the center of the boulder. A
blinding light suddenly appeared and filled the small center of the area.
Forcing the young man to shield his eyes from the rays he held his hands
there for a few seconds until the rays died down. As the young man
moved his hand away from his eyes he looked down at the sight he would
never forget. The large boulder was now nothing but dust and the circle of
flame hadn’t changed but in the center something black was growing
within it. A shadow was growing and growing within the flames and just
looking at it would send the worst chills down the toughest person’s spine.
The young man watched in horror as the shadow grew into a shape of a
demon. The shadow seemed to have long claws for hands as they seemed to
be finished growing the claws seemed to clench together. The legs were
long and seemed to be muscular but on the back of the legs three spikes
seemed to stick out as they grew. The chest of the demon seemed strong
and muscular as it also started to take form. Finally the head seemed
to take form. From what could be seen the demon had long hair, a slender
face, and piercing red eyes. Those piercing red eyes seemed to be full
of hatred and most of all....the coldness of true evil. Finally the
fire died out and it revealed a demon like figure that was surrounded by a
black flame. The young man’s mouth was wide open and his face was
showing many emotions but mainly they were showing shock, fear, and
confusion. The figure seemed to move his head back and forth, looking like it
hadn’t seen his body at all in his life before. The demon figure then
rose his head and smiled a evil smile. Lifting his head to the swirling
cloudy sky he let out a laugh of triumph and rose his arms to the sky.
The young man suddenly realized he could be easily seen so he slowly
dropped to his knees and then laid on his stomach, in hopes of not being
seen. Just by looking at him the young man could tell that this was no
ordinary enemy or monster but this was some sort of demon. His head was
screaming to him to get out of there but something about the demon made
him stay. It was almost as if he was waiting for something to happen.

The demon looked down and then looked at a clear spot near him.
Holding out his hand a red flame materialized in the center of his hand and
started to spin. As it grew it finally stopped at the size of his palm
and shot out to the ground. There the spiral grew on the ground until
it was a large circle of fire that was appearing in front of him.

“ From the deepest regions of evil, I summon thee. Fire and horror,
death and sorrow. From the bowels of the world of Spira I call to you.
Malchus, servant of evil, come and shed your fear once again over this
world.” the demon figure said coldly. His voice, just by listening to it,
could of frozen a entire city. His voice was colder than ice but his
eyes were burning with anger. The young man continued to watch in lots of
emotion that reflected off of the rising fire on the ground. The demon
like figure watched with a pleased face as the circle of fire started
to grow a form in the center. The fire grew and grew until someone
appeared from the fire. As the flames died out the young man looked at the
shocking sight of this being.

As the fire died out a form appeared and it was unlike anyone had
ever seen. The dark made his most of his body almost impossible to see
but the young man could see some things about the form. The form was
quite tall from what the young man could see and he looked like he weighed
around 180 pounds or more. The form’s skin was as dark as the night and
gave chills to anyone by just looking at him. As the face formed white,
straight hair started to appear as it lowered down to shoulder length.
Long and some muscular arms started to form from the fire and as long
slender hands took shape from the inferno blaze. On the end of his
fingers were long talons that looked like they were sharp enough to slice
through anything in a matter of seconds. The legs were long and nimble as
they started to form from the fire. Finally the face started to form as
the young man watched as the phenomenon continued. The face was slender
and almost delicate as the features started forming. The cheeks were
skinny and showed alot of muscles in the face. The eyes were not like
humans shapes but instead they were shaped like reptiles eyes, long and
narrow. Finally the fire died out around him as he slowly stood up but
with his head still down, facing the ground. The demon figure slowly
smiled and his red eyes flared with revenge and happiness. The form then
slowly lifted his head and then opened his eyes to reveal eyes that had
never been seen before. The blood redness of the eyes showed easily in
the dark as the in the middle black eyes formed as they were shaped like
snakes. They were full of the desire for blood and torture as any snake
would when they were ready to strike for their prey.

“ Malchus at your service master.” Malchus said as he bowed on his
right knee and bowed his head to the demon shape figure in front of him.
The figure nodded as the black flame around it seemed to spread
everywhere.

“ Finally....after two thousand years of imprisonment the time for my
rule is now.” the figure said as it seemed to raise his right claw and
clamp it together tight so you could see it shivering.

“ The mere weaklings of this planet will regret defeating you master
and I will make sure they will regret it dearly.” Malchus said as he
stood up. As he did a medallion started shifting back and forth as the
young man caught a glimpse of it. The medallion had a unique design on it
and it seemed to represent something. On the top of the medallion there
was a long sword going from the top to the bottom but in the center of
the sword a triangle has formed in the center with a circle on the top
corner. In the center of the circle was a skull of a human with blood
trickling out of the sockets. Malchus suddenly started sniffing and then
smiled a evil smile.
“ Master...I fear we have a spy here somewhere.” Malchus said smiling a
menacing smile. The young man gasped and then started to get up.
Quickly standing up and he turned back to the main path and jumped to it and
began to run. As turned the corner he let out a gasp to see Malchus
suddenly standing in front of him. Malchus smiled to reveal his sharp
fangs as they glistened in the moonlight. The young man was to scared to
move as Malchus slowly made his way toward him. The young man took a few
steps back but his knees went weak with fear and the young man fell to
the ground but continued to push himself backwards. Malchus stopped as
his eyes began to flare a blood red and he stopped in front of him.

“ So you feeling brave today little human?” Malchus said as his cold
voice spoke. The young man’s voice refused to speak but he shook his head
and shook with fear. Malchus smiled and then suddenly reached forward
at a fast speed and grabbed the young man’s shirt and pulled him up to
his face level. The young man let a gasp of shock and stared into the
blazing red eyes. His lips and whole body trembled mercilessly with fear
as Malchus’s eyes flared a even brighter red that was bright enough for
Malchus to see the face of the young man. It was a young Al Bhed, only
between 17 and 18 years old as his bright spiral blue eyes showed true
terror. Malchus then looked up and jumped above and over the boulder,
landing in front of the demon shape figure and dropping the Al Bhed in
the middle of them.

“ This is our little spy master. What shall I do to him?” Malchus asked
as he licked his lips slowly and stared at the young Al Bhed as if he
was prey to him. The Al Bhed got on his knees and bent his head.

“ Please....let me go. I didn’t see anything and I wont tell anyone
about you two. Please don’t kill me.” the Al Bhed begged as the demon
figure smiled evilly and his eyes flared red again.

“ Whoever said I was going to kill you?” the demon figure said as the
Al Bhed looked relieved. Then the demon figure suddenly reached forward
and grabbed him once again pulling the Al Bhed above him by the neck
collar. The Al Bhed started gasping as the demon figure smiled evilly and
laughed as it echoed through the desert.

“ I’m only going to take over your body....” the demon figure said as
the Al Bhed suddenly started floating in the air and started entering in
his eyes. The Al Bhed started screaming in pain as his eyes started
flashing white and the black flames fully entered his body and the Al Bhed
was dropped to the ground. Malchus smiled evilly as he watched the
event happen and the Al Bhed suddenly dropped to the ground as he landed on
his feet. The Al Bhed looked back and forth at his arms and then turned
around to see the eyes blood red again.

“ The time....is now....”
***********************

In Besaid Village the wind violently started flowing as the
moonlight slowly reached the sleeping huts. The moonlight stretched forward
toward the path that lead toward the dock. On the top of the cliff there
was a hooded figure that was kneeling and looking at the sleeping
village of Besaid. The cloak swayed back and forth as the figure stood up and
sighed a heavy sigh. As the moon floated in the sky behind the figure
soft brown eyes showed clearly from the figure as the figure stood
silently as if the figure wasn’t there at all.

“ So.....he has arisen from his eternal damnation. The time of judgment
is coming and I must try and stop it from coming. The heroes of Spira
must stop the tragedy from repeating itself or human kind....will not
survive.” the figure spoke with a soft voice. The figure blinked their
soft brown eyes and then started to walk away as the figure disappeared
from view.
***********************

As the violent winds died down over the night the color’s of red,
orange, and pink slowly stroked its way across the sky. Seeming as if
someone had painted the sky the sun rose slowly from over the sea as
Wakka emerged from his home. Yawning and stretching he rubbed his head and
started looking around. Some people had already emerged from their
homes and started doing chores. One young man grabbed a small tool chest
and walked to the outline of a house. Sighing and rubbing the back of his
neck the young man grabbed a piece of wood and then started hammering
it as the sound of a hammer filled the air. Over by the chocobo fence a
six year old girl was taking a small bag of chocobo food over to the
chocobo’s and then set it down by the fence. Taking a small clay bowl and
dipping it into the seeds she tried to reach the top of the fence but
couldn’t. Standing on her toes she reached as high as she could but then
fell to onto her back and started crying. Wakka ran over to the girl
and helped pick her up.

“ Sheri what are you doing? You know that your to young to feed the
chocobo’s.” Wakka said as he kneeled down in front of her. Sheri looked
sadly to the ground and nodded her head.

“ I’m sorry Uncle Wakka....” Sheri said as she stared at the ground
sadly and Wakka smiled. Raising his hand to her head, he gently set it
down on the top and started rubbing her head playfully. Sheri looked up
and smiled as Wakka ruffled her hair.

“ How about if I help you?” Wakka said as he picked up the clay bowl
and held it in front of him for Sheri. Sheri nodded happily and then
jumped a little for joy. Wakka couldn’t help but smile because of great it
was being a kid. As a kid you didn’t have to worry about anything or
anyone. The world was so carefree when you were a child and for that
anyone would of given during dark times. As Sheri took the bowl she ran to
the bag of seeds and dripped it into the seeds again. When the bowl was
full she ran back to Wakka and Wakka picked her up by her waist and put
her on his shoulders. Sheri laughed as Wakka tried to regain balance
from the sudden weight change and then stopped himself from falling
backwards. As he held onto her knees Wakka walked over to the fence and
Sheri poured the seeds into the bucket near the fence. At the sound of the
seeds hitting the bucket bottom they came walking over and started
warking as they did walk. When they reached the bucket they chocobo’s
jumped for joy and then started eating. Sheri smiled for joy and Wakka
looked back up at her.

“ Ok Sheri, ready?” Wakka asked as Sheri nodded happily as a six year
old should. Wakka made some pretend lifts and got Sheri ready.

“ One.....two....three!” Wakka said as he lifted Sheri off of Wakka’s
shoulders and safely onto the ground. Sheri laughed as she was being
lifted down and then let out a wail of disappointment as she was let go of
Wakka. Wakka took the bowl back and rubbed her head again. Wakka was
about to say something when a women called out.

“ Sheri? Sheri, time for breakfast.” a young women said as she stepped
out of one of the house’s. Sheri waved goodbye to Wakka and ran toward
the young women. The young women moved out of the way and Sheri
disappeared into the house. Looking over she saw Wakka setting the bowl and
bag back by the edge of the fence and she walked up toward him. Wakka
turned around to see Sheri’s mother walking to him.

“ I am sorry about Sheri. Did she trouble you?” Sheri’s mother asked as
she looked back at the house for a minute then back to Wakka. Wakka
smiled and shook his head.

“ Nah! She didn’t bother me a bit.” Wakka said as he laughed a little.
Sheri’s mother smiled and then bowed the upper part of her body as a
thank you sign. Turning and walking back to the house she entered it and
disappeared from view. Letting out a long sigh Wakka slowly turned
around, closed his eyes, and slowly rubbed his temple. When he opened his
eyes he saw Lulu standing in front of him with a small smile on her
face. Wakka smiled back a very big smile and then walked up to her. Lulu
looked up at Wakka’s face and was about to say something when Lulu saw
Yuna walking over to them. Wakka noticed too and looked over at her but
something was different about Yuna today. Yuna’s eyes, instead of sad,
were full of hope and love, and they could tell she was leaving to go
look for Tidus. Wakka walked up to Yuna and nodded slowly as Yuna smiled
and nodded back.

“ Before we leave....we might want to go get supplies...and our
weapons.” Lulu said as she walked up to Yuna and Wakka. Yuna nodded her head
and looked toward the temple. When Sin was destroyed Wakka, Lulu,
Kimahri, and Yuna had put their legendary weapons in a safe place, hoping
never to use them again. Yuna slowly turned and walked toward the temple
entrance with Lulu and Wakka slowly behind her. As they walked Lulu
leaned to Wakka and whispered something.

“ How will we know where to look for him exactly? Spira so large and
well....to be honest I don’t think we will find him.” Lulu whispered to
Wakka, making sure that Yuna didn’t hear. Wakka looked down at Lulu and
then to Yuna.

“ We have to go looking....for Yuna’s sake. She’s been hurt so badly
Lulu. She loves him very much...probably even more than she realizes and
she deserves to be in his arms again Lulu and that is something I am
willing to help Yuna accomplish.” Wakka whispered to Lulu as Lulu stared
at Yuna with concern in her soft violet eyes. Sighing a heavy sigh she
continued to walk as Yuna approached the door she slowly reached out
her slender hands and touched the cold stone doors and pushed them open.
Slowly, ever so slowly, the doors opened and they walked in. Yuna
walked to the far left side of the temple to see Kimahri standing in front
of the door. Yuna, Wakka, and Lulu stopped and Kimahri turned around to
look at them with a serious face.

“ Kimahri knew friends would come to get weapons. Kimahri come too and
look for Tidus.” Kimahri said as he looked at Yuna with eyes of
friendship and loyalty. Yuna smiled and she bowed the upper half of her body.

“ Thank you Kimahri.” Yuna spoke slowly and softly as she slowly
lowered herself back up and Kimahri moved out of the way. Yuna walked up to
the door and pushed it open as a small circular room appeared from
behind the door. Books of all sorts were stacked in the far right corner of
the room while there was a circular table that was covered with a small
white veil cloth. On the table were tons of more books that looked like
they hadn’t been touched in more than a hundred years or so. Yuna
gently set her hand down onto the table and held it there as she walked
around the table slowly and then as she neared the farthest corner of the
room she slowly lifted her hand from the table and stopped in front of a
small cabinet on the wall. Taking both handles Yuna stared at the
cabinet for a minute then took a deep and slow breath. Yuna then opened the
cabinet drawer and there were 4 of the legendary weapons. Hanging
sideways was the long and mighty Spirit Lance, Kimahri’s weapon. Yuna moved
out of the way as Lulu, Wakka and Kimahri moved up to get their
weapons.

Kimahri slowly walked up to the Spirit Lance and stared at it as if he
hadn’t seen it before in his life. This spear was so majestic and so
powerful. With the spear in hand, Kimahri was one of the most powerful
Ronso’s alive and during the time of Sin, his only job was to protect
Yuna so she could defeat Sin. Now that Sin was destroyed and Yuna still
lived the spear seemed to have no purpose left but once again Kimahri
slowly raised his hand reached forward for the spear. As Kimahri slowly
moved his hand forward the handle of the spear glistened from the small
candle light as Kimahri grabbed the spear and slowly took it off from
it’s once eternal rest.

Lulu slowly moved her legs forward and walked toward the awaiting Onion
Knight. This doll looked like it could do little damage but deep within
the small toy was a mighty power that Lulu felt every time she used it.
This mere child’s toy had the power to wipe out enemy’s in a matter of
seconds. As Lulu stopped in front of the doll she stared at the it for
a minuet with emotionless eyes. Slowly ever so slowly Lulu raised her
arms and stretched them out toward the doll and then slowly grabbed a
hold of it. Holding her hands there for a second Lulu took a deep breath
and lifted the doll off the shelf. Holding it with her right hand she
slowly turned and walked back to where Kimahri was waiting, holding his
mighty Spirit Lance in hand.

Wakka watched Lulu join Kimahri and then realized it was his turn to
get his legendary weapon. Turning his head slowly to the end of the shelf
held the World Champion. The large blitzball looked like it could
pierce skin if thrown hard enough or could takes lives away in a matter of
seconds if hit in the right place. Wakka walked up to it with eyes of
somewhat fear. The fear of using this again because if he had to use it
again it meant that something evil was here and that would mean for
deaths and that was something Wakka didn’t like. Sighing a heavy sigh Wakka
stopped in front of his weapon and stared at it. In the center of the
ball Wakka’s face reflected off of the small weapon as Wakka slowly
picked it up. Turning around he walked past Yuna but stopped a few inches
past her. Slowly he set his hand on her shoulder for a few seconds and
Yuna looked at him with eyes of determination and nodded. Wakka nodded
back, lifted his hand off and walked back to Lulu and Kimahri.

Yuna slowly blinked her blue and green eyes and then looked at the
awaiting Nirvana. The bright color’s and winding string made it’s way
slowly up the staff to the design at the top of the staff as light glistened
against it. Yuna looked at it with eyes as they filled with lots of
emotions. Holding her hand in front of her she slowly took a step closer
as her boots made a soft click. Another steps forward, Yuna started to
move her hand out forward. Two more steps forward, Yuna held her hand
out fully as her whole hand trembled with emotion. Finally Yuna’s
fingertips reached the staff and her hand slowly wrapped around it and she
pulled it off it’s once eternal rest. Her hands started to shake as she
remembered all the times she used it and with Tidus by her side. If it
wasn’t for him she never would of gotten it, never alone have a chance
too. Her eyes slowly filled with tears as her shoulders started to shake
hard and a few tears slid down her face as it hit the staff. Lulu and
Wakka looked sadly at Yuna and Kimahri walked up to her and gently
placed a hand on her shoulder.

“ Yuna....no tears. Yuna will soon be with Tidus again. Patience.”
Kimahri said as he held the spear tight in his other paw. Yuna then looked
up and tried to the tears from her eyes. Turning around to Lulu and
Wakka looking at her with worried eyes she smiled a small smile and walked
past them and out the door. Lulu, Wakka, and Kimahri walked out the
door, following Yuna and exited out of the temple. As they walked toward
the exit of Besaid Village Yuna stopped for a minute and looked around
at the home she will always have. Wakka, Lulu, and Kimahri walked out
the entrance as Yuna continued to stare at the temple. Finally turning to
the exit she walked out and said something to herself.

“ Tidus.....I can’t wait....to be in your arms again.”
******************

As the sun was rising on the other side of the world Tidus was
pulling on his shirt to get ready to leave and look for his friends. Looking
out the window he saw the ocean starting to turn and toss it’s waves up
onto the mighty mountain side. Snow from the sides of the mountain fell
down into the icy waters below and joined the rest of the floating ice
and snow in the water. Tidus sat down on the bed and pulled on his
shoes that were set near the desk. Sighing a heavy sigh he stood up and
looked down at the normal clothes he wore last year. As he walked toward
the door he suddenly stopped at thought of something’s. He was just
leaving unannounced and not even saying thank you for all the things that
Ryanna had done for him. After all is it hadn’t been for Ryanna , Tidus
wouldn’t be alive right now. Shaking his head he opened the door and
walked out, shutting it behind him. Finding himself in a long hallway he
looked around amazed at his surroundings. The hall was marbled with
white stone and the sides of the wall had blue wallpaper and had paintings
hanging everywhere. As he continued to look at the amazing sight Tidus
slowly started walking forward. As he looked at the paintings he
stopped at one and saw a picture of Ryanna with a small child. The child
looked about seven or eight years old and was very pretty. The young girl
had curly blonde hair and the deepest blue eyes Tidus had ever seen.

“ What is this?” Tidus whispered out loud as he gently rose his hand
and touched the painting gently. Not aware that Ryanna was standing a few
feet from him she walked up to him and spoke.

“ That was my child....” Ryanna said with a small sadness in her face.
Tidus gasped in surprise and jumped back a few steps but then looked
relieved to see Ryanna. Ryanna smiled then pointed her fingers to his
legs. Tidus looked at Ryanna with a serious face but she merely sighed and
shook her head.

“ I see the fayth’s finally did something right for you....” Ryanna
said as she smiled and leaned against the wall behind her. Tidus looked
shocked and then stared at Ryanna in disbelief. How had she known all
these things? Did she have something to do with the fayth or even
worse...the enemy? These questions and more kept ringing in Tidus’s head as he
walked a couple of steps closer to her and she stood back up. Looking
toward him Ryanna raised her right arm slightly and threw something
toward Tidus.

“ Catch....” Ryanna said before she threw it. Tidus held out his hand
and caught the handle of a sword, the Caladbolg. Tidus stared at it in
disbelief and tightened his grip on the handle. This sword has spilt so
much blood and cut so many enemy’s that it seemed to have a mind of
it’s own yet the glistening sword looked mighty and majestic. Taking it in
both hands he looked back at Ryanna as she handed him a sheath.

“ For your sword...” Ryanna said as she turned and walked down the hall
toward the stairs. Tidus looked at Ryanna as she slowly walked down the
hallway toward a staircase. Her hair flowed back and forth as she
walked and then she slightly stopped and held up her hand. Tidus caught a
small glimpse of a small necklace that had a small diamond heart on it.
Ryanna looked at it for s few seconds then clutched up her hand and held
it tight as her hand shook with emotion. Her eyes showed rage and anger
as she walked down the stairs, leaving Tidus alone in the hallway.
Tidus slowly attached the sheath to his back and put the Caladbolg in the
sheath. Walking toward the stairs Tidus neared them and walked down them
carefully. The wooden stairs creaked as he slowly stepped on them and
then reached the bottom. As he neared the bottom he looked around to see
a lot of bookshelf’s with big, thick books. By the shelf’s were small
table’s with vase’s full of flowers. Even in the morning light the house
seemed alive and bright with all the flowers near. Taking a few steps
into the room Tidus looked around and saw two hallways going into
separate sections of the house. Hearing a sniffling Tidus turned and walked
into a room too see Ryanna sitting at a wooden table and staring at the
necklace silently. Walking forward Tidus silently walked toward her and
gently raised his hand and put it on her shoulder. Ryanna let out a
deep sigh and spoke.

“ Follow the path up the side of the mountain until you get to the main
path. You should know what to do there....” Ryanna said as she set the
necklace down and folded her arms in front of her. Tidus look sadly at
Ryanna and looked at the side of her. Grabbing a chair he pulled it up
and sat down in it and looked at Ryanna.

“ I never got to thank you for you helping me. If it weren’t for you I
would be dead right now. I only wish I could give you something in
return for all your help and hospitality.” Tidus said as he held his hands
together and leaned against the top of his legs as he rested his arms
there. Ryanna smiled and looked at Tidus with happy eyes and leaned
forward and patted his hand a little. Lifting her hand again and looking
out a nearby window Ryanna let out a deep sigh.

“ You don’t need to thank me Tidus. I know you have been wondering how
I knew of your adventures well I’ll tell you if you want.” Ryanna
offered to Tidus. Tidus nodded and listened very carefully as she sighed and
began to explain.

“ I knew of your adventures because of a young lady named Shelinda, she
was a allocite and of course she went all over Spira, learning the ways
of Yevon but after you destroyed Sin and uncovered the truth about him
Shelinda gave up the way of Yevon and came to visit me. Shelinda is my
younger sister and she told me everything that had happened to her and
all the people she met. She mostly talked about Lady Yuna and her
guardians that helped her recover her spirit and faith in herself.
So....that’s how I know of you and your adventures.” Ryanna explained as she
smiled and looked at Tidus. Tidus was smiling as he shook his head and
thought of Shelinda. She was a cool girl, very bright and cheerful at
times but also serious and helpful when the time did come.

“ Tidus....do me one favor.” Ryanna said as she placed her hand on the
necklace once again and picked it up from the table. Tidus looked at
Ryanna a little confused and then stood up as she walked toward the
window and stared out it.

“ Don’t let Yuna go when you find her again....I had to learn that the
hard way when I lost my child.” Ryanna explained as Tidus’s eyes
softened a little with emotion.

“ It was over 7 years ago and I was happy here. I had just had my first
daughter and she was the most important thing in my life after her
father died in a battle with Sin. He was a warrior monk and one of the
best. Anyway my daughter suddenly got sick and got worse and worse until I
didn’t know what to do. I had seen all the finest doctors in Spira but
none of them could tell what was wrong with her. She managed to live
with the sickness for seven long painful years.....” Ryanna said as her
voice started to fill with sadness and tears started running down her
face. Tidus looked at Ryanna with eyes that were full on understanding,
sadness, and regret. Ryanna lifted her hand and slowly wiped away her
tears and then continued to tell.

“ Finally one day....I woke up to go wake her up and she wouldn’t wake
up......she had died in her sleep....and at such a young age...” Ryanna
finished as she held back the flood of tears that wanted just to pour
out with the emotions from the heart and soul that just kept piling and
piling up inside till she was about ready to burst. Letting out a deep
sigh Ryanna turned to Tidus and looked at him with a warm smile.

“ So...promise me that you will get back to her in one piece?” Ryanna
asked as she smiled. Tidus smiled back and nodded. They stared at each
other for a minute then Ryanna looked toward the door. Tidus also looked
at it then gave her a thankful look.

“ Well.....she’s waiting.” Ryanna whispered out loud and Tidus nodded.
Turning to it Tidus slowly moved his legs toward the door. As he walked
toward it he thought of the sadness that Ryanna must of felt during the
time that her daughter was alive. All the pain and sorrow that must of
piling up inside and it must of still been there but yet she still
helped him. Tidus neared the door and held out his hand as he held out his
hand and slowly wrapped his fingers around the knob. Turning the
doorknob and opening the door slightly the roar of the water rushing against
the mountain side suddenly burst in through the air and made it’s way
around the house. Tidus looked back at Ryanna for a minute then slowly
exited the house and shut the door behind him. As he looked forward he
saw a rocky path leading up toward the mountain. Looking around him he
saw the ocean on both side’s of him and shielded his eyes from the
blowing wind that dried out his eyes. Blinking a few times to get his eyes
wet again he slowly shivered and then started toward the path. His
footsteps echoed as he stepped on the small rocks and started to reach a
small hill that went upward and into the mountain. Sighing he slowly
started climbing and began the long walk down the mountain.
*********************

The roar of the ocean filled the air as the sun slowly poured down
its ray’s down onto two unconscious figures on the sides of a large
mountain. One of them groaned and clutched their hand together. Jecht
slowly lifted his head and looked around but to see only a blurry vision.
Blinking his eyes a few times his vision slowly returned and he saw a
side of a tall mountain that was covered with snow.

“ Mt. Gagazet......” Jecht said slowly as he slowly forced himself up
and onto his legs. He wobbled a little bit then started looking around.
He was at a place that looked like the remains of a campfire that
hadn’t been lit in a very long time. As he looked out toward the ocean he
saw the remains of Zanarkand. The crumbling buildings that still stood
after a thousand years of despair and agony. These buildings and the
destroyed stadium all represented all the foolish mistakes that he and all
the people alive then had made. Letting machina do all the work while
all the people did was play blitzball and other things. Jecht slowly
looked out toward a certain direction, in hopes of seeing the remains of
his home still in tact but didn’t see anything. The image of his wife
suddenly filled Jecht’s mind as his eyes slowly softened and filled a
little with tears. Wiping them away quickly Jecht looked back to where he
had been and saw Auron, also unconscious, not to far away. Turning to
Auron and slowly walking up to him Jecht kneeled down by him and gently
set a hand on Auron’s shoulder. Shaking it slightly Jecht shook Auron’s
shoulder and said loud.

“ Auron! Hey Auron!” Jecht said in his usual voice as Auron stirred and
groaned a little. Auron slowly lifted his head and saw Jecht over him,
and looking at him with a smiling face. Putting his right hand to his
forehead Auron slowly sat up and leaned his back against the rock in
back of him.

“ My head.....” Auron said as he painfully opened his eyes and rubbed
his temples hard. Jecht nodded his head and sat down in front of him but
a few steps away so Auron could catch his breath. Auron slowly opened
his dark brown eyes to see Jecht to the side of him and the ruins of
Zanarkand behind him.

“ We’re back Auron....we’re back in Spira and living.” Jecht said as he
looked at himself at then at his hands. Sighing a heavy sigh Jecht
closed his eyes and remembered some things. Memory’s of Tidus being born,
playing blitzball, meeting his wife, and then Tidus wanting to play
blitzball but he just said bad things to him.

“ I shouldn’t of said those things to him....” Jecht thought to himself
as a certain memory came rushing back into his head.

* Memory*

Jecht slowly entered his home and looked around. The fan slowly turned
around and around as he looked out the window at the wondrous city of
Zanarkand. The light from the city lit up the sky in all color’s during
the night, even though the stars still clearly showed through all the
light. Walking down the ramp Jecht continued to look out the window but
then something else caught his eye. On the other side of the house
Tidus was outside practicing, hitting a blitzball but also missing most of
the time. Jecht let out a large sigh and continued to think of some
things when he heard the crashing sound of a plate came as he snapped out
of thought and saw his wife on the floor and a broken plate all in
pieces by her. Running forward Jecht ran around the table and into the
kitchen and bent down quickly. Fear showed in his eyes as he put his arms
around his wife and turned her around. He eyes were full of concern and
fear as he saw his wife’s face. Her face, instead of a normal creamy
flesh color, was almost pure white and her body was shaking from the
cold. Jecht put his arm under her knee and the other around her back as he
picked her up and walked down into a hall. As he walked past a few
doors he finally turned into to a right door and pushed it open with his
back. Walking into a small bedroom with a double bed he gently set his
wife down on it and set her head on a pillow. His wife opened her eyes
and looked at Jecht as he smiled a small smile.

“ Jecht.....what....happened?” Tidus’s mother asked as she tried to sit
up but Jecht gently stopped her with his hand by putting it on the side
of her face and gently rubbing her cheek.

“ You should lay down....you collapsed in the kitchen and I brought you
here to rest but I need you to be honest with me....are you ill?” Jecht
asked as he sat down beside his wife.

“ Yes....lately I have been so low on energy that I didn’t know what to
do so I went to the doctor and he said that I have a illness that isn’t
to serious but I should take care or it could get worse.” Tidus’s
mother said as she stared into Jecht’s warm eyes and she then sighed and
leaned her head back against the pillow. Jecht sighed and looked out the
window at the sight of Zanarkand.

“ Jecht....” his wife began slowly as Jecht snapped his attention back
to his wife as he listened to what she had to say.

“ Jecht....if anything should happen to me...” Jecht’s wife didn’t get
to finish the sentence because Jecht suddenly covered his lips with
hers and she slowly closed her eyes and kissed back. Jecht held his hands
on the side of her face and his wife wrapped her arms around his neck.
Jecht finally separated his lips from hers and stared into her eyes.

“ You are not going to die understand? Jecht said as he looked at his
wife lovingly. She smiled and nodded.

“ Ok....I will get better...” Jecht’s wife said with a smile.
* End of Memory*

Jecht suddenly snapped out of the memory and looked at Auron who was
staring at the ocean waters that were sparkling blue as they ran into the
dark gray of the destroyed buildings. The sun slowly reflected off of
the water as it’s light sparkled here and there. The drifting clouds
reflection on the water slowly moved toward the land and disappeared. Off
in the distance a seagull’s cry rang through the air as it entered
Auron’s ears. Auron closed his eyes and listened to the seagull’s cry as
memory’s came flooding back.

* 22 years ago*

The sun was setting slowly on the Bevelle sea as a seagull’s cry filled
the air as it was joined by it’s other friends cries. Off in the
distance was Auron as he slowly drew his sword and started practicing with
it. Taking his sword he placed it in front of his face and then moved it
so the blade looked thin in front of his face. Swinging the sword with
balance and skill Auron continued to practice, not knowing that Reandra
was leaning against a tree and watching. When he stopped for a minute
he heard someone clapping and he turned to see Reandra smiling and
clapping at the same time. Auron blushed a little and put his sword down.

“ Very well done Auron.” Reandra said as she stood up and walked toward
Auron as her brown hair flowed back and forth. Auron smiled and put a
hand on his shoulder.

“ I’m going to have to be very good if I want to become a warrior
monk.” Auron said as he sighed and rubbed his temple. Reandra put her hand
on his shoulder and Auron looked down at her.

“ You’ll make it....don’t worry.” Reandra said as she gently lifted her
hand and then looked at the sword.

“ Would you mind if I looked at the sword for a minute?” Reandra asked
as she pointed to the sword. Auron lifted the sword and handed it to
her.

“ Just hold it with both hands and it shouldn’t be to hard to hold.”
Auron said as he used his hands to put hers on the right place on the
handle. Blushing, Auron took his hands off suddenly and Reandra looked at
the long blade for a minute. As she gently tried to put it down the
blade slipped from her fingers and the blade ran over her right arm skin,
cutting it. Reandra quickly covered her cut with her other hand and
Auron gently touched her arm. Looking down at his shirt he took a part of
it and ripped off a small part of his shirt. Wrapping it around the cut
Reandra looked at Auron and blushed.

“ Sorry...I guess I’m not as strong as you.” Reandra said as she felt
foolish. Auron picked up the sword and sheathed it.

“ Don’t be...it’s alright...you didn't know that was going to happen
and I should of warned you that the sword could cut through things
easily....” Auron said blaming himself. Reandra sighed and then held the
wound still.

“ It’s getting dark....you coming?” Reandra asked as she motioned her
head toward the city. Auron nodded and walked along Reandra back to the
city.

* End of Memory*

Auron snapped out of his memory and looked back at the water. Jecht
sighed and stood up while he also was lost deep in thought.

“ Well...might as well get going right?” Jecht said as Auron nodded and
stood up along with him. Jecht turned to walk away but then stopped as
he saw two swords. stuck in the ground. One of them was the Hunter’s
Sword as the other was the Murasame. Auron looked at the sword as his
eyes widened a little. The Legendary Weapon was waiting for him...for
Auron. Walking up to it Auron slowly put his gloved hand around the handle
and pulled it out of the ground. Jecht grabbed the Hunter’s Sword and
pulled it out of the ground too. Auron slowly then turned to the path up
Mt. Gagazet and started to walk up it with Jecht not far behind.
