Chapter 7
And the search begins.....

Rikku rushed out of her tent as she struggled to put on her shoes.
Letting a groan of anger she finally got it on and started running out
into the hot dessert air. Running up a hill made of sand she struggled
not to fall on the sand and finally made it to the top. Continuing to
run along the dessert sand she passed machina parts, as she came into
view she saw some Al Bhed gathered around in a circle and talking. Their
voices were loud and very unclear but they were also full of many
emotions. Fear, shock, confusion, and many more emotions that came flowing
out into the air as they all spoke. Stopping a few feet from them Rikku
stopped to catch her breath as she walked slowly toward them.

“ What's.....the....emergency?” Rikku asked between breaths. They all
looked toward Rikku as a young female Al Bhed turned her back to the
others and used one of her hands to cover her face while she used the
other to support her arm. Her shoulders started to shake with emotion as
she let out small cries of sorrow. Rikku’s eyes slowly filled with
sadness as she walked toward the young women. Putting a hand on the women’s
shoulder gently Rikku walked around the women to see her face. The young
women looked at Rikku as her eyes were already red and scared.

“ Sarah...what’s wrong?” Rikku asked Sara caringly as Sara looked at
Rikku sadly. Taking a deep breath Sara looked toward the sea and then
back to Rikku.

“ It’s Alan. Last night he said he had forgotten to do something so he
went out and he never came back. Rikku what if he’s......what if.....”
Sarah began but just couldn’t finish without crying. It was obvious
this women loved him and when she meant love, it was love. Sarah and Alan
had been best friends since their childhood and now that they were more
than that they had fallen madly in love.

“ We’ll find him ok? Don’t think that he’s....well....gone and he’s not
ok?” Rikku made sure before she let go of Sarah. Sarah looked into
Rikku’s green eyes and nodded as Rikku smiled back and patted her shoulder.
As she turned and walked back toward the other Al Bhed she put her
hands together and rubbed them as she tried to force a idea to come into
her head.

“ Ok, now we’ll split up into 4 groups, 2 in each and we will go
looking in separate directions. Two groups will head north while the other
two go east and west. Sarah and I will head south, toward the ocean. If
you find anything and I mean anything that could have to do with Alan
report back to my father.” Rikku instructed as the Al Bhed nodded and got
into teams. After going their separate ways Rikku and Sarah headed
toward the ocean, while thoughts came in and out of their head.

“ What if he’s hurt?” Sarah asked herself as she walked alone Rikku.
Rikku sighed and tilted her head back as she looked up at the bright and
blinding sun that was surrounded by the endless blue sky. Seagull’s
cries kept filling the air as the wind carried their cries over the land.
Sighing a heavy sigh again Rikku looked at the ground and saw nothing
but yellow sand and machina parts around.

“ You know, we really should get this part cleaned up.” Rikku scowled
to herself as Sarah looked over and giggled, causing Rikku also to
laugh. As they continued walking they could hear the sound of the waves
coming toward them and filling their ears.

“ Rikku.....” Sarah began as she tried to think of how to finish her
sentence. “ Yeah?” “ What if we find Alan hurt very badly or what if he
is dead?”

Rikku smiled and reached into her pocket as she pulled out a X Potion
and tossed it into the air, spinning as she caught it again in her hand.

“ Nothing to worry about Sarah.” Rikku replied as she smiled and put
the X Potion away and Sarah merely shook her head in disbelief and awe.

“ You always come prepared don’t you?” Sarah asked out loud Rikku
winked her right eye and smiled as she let out a giggle.

“ You know me! Always prepared Rikku!” Rikku announced out loud as she
continued to walk and Sarah caught up with her.

“ You know you just made me remember the time when I was the one saving
your butt.” Sarah said playfully as Rikku looked confused and looked as
the ground as she searched her mind for that moment Sarah mentioned but
nothing came up.

“ What happened?” Rikku asked even more confused as Sarah sighed and
started telling the memory.

* 11 years ago*

Six year old Rikku stepped out into the sun as she left Home behind
her. Determination and anger clearly showed in her spiral eyes as she
stormed out into the open dessert. Her blonde hair waved back and forth
as she became clear of Home’s sight.

“ I am not just a little girl! I can take care of myself and it isn’t
my fault that the machina broke!” Rikku said to herself out loud as she
kicked the sand in anger, sending it flying into the air as it spread
out and landed back onto the endless sea of sand. Rikku kept stomping
off into the desert as she heard someone calling her name behind her.

“ Rikku! Rikku, wait!” a eight year old girl yelled as she ran to
Rikku. Rikku sighed a sigh of annoyance and turned to young Sarah.

“ Sarah what do you want? I want to be alone now!” Rikku announced as
Sarah stopped in front of her with anger on her face.

“ You know the desert is too dangerous for you! Why did you run off?”
Sarah demanded as Rikku folded her arms in front of her chest and stared
at Sarah annoyingly. Sarah did the same exact thing except look down at
her and argue right back.

“ Your dad wants you too come back right now or he says you’ll be in
big trouble!!” Sarah said as she tried to take Rikku’s arm but Rikku
stepped back and got out of Sarah’s reach.

“ I already am in big enough trouble with my father and I don't want
any more from you, now just go away and leave me alone! I don’t need
anyone! Not you, not Dad, not even the Al Bhed!!” Rikku said as she turned
and ran even deeper into the hot dessert.

“ Rikku! Wait!!” Sarah yelled as she tried to run to her but a sudden
wind picked up and blew sand toward Sarah's direction as Sarah tried and
shield her eyes from the blinding sand. When it finally stopped Sarah
looked around desperately for Rikku but didn’t see her anywhere. Feeling
a sudden sense of fear enter her she turned around and ran back toward
Home to go tell Rikku’s father that she lad lost her.

* End of Memory*

Rikku looked confusingly at Sarah as she smiled and looked at her, she
could tell Rikku wanted to hear the rest but the rest was pretty much a
blur to Sarah.

“ And? Then what happened?” Rikku asked impatiently as Sarah shook her
head and shrugged her shoulders.

“ After that I hit my head on a machina part remember? Pretty much lost
my whole memories of my childhood after that. I guess I hit my head
pretty hard but hell, who knows?” Sarah explained to Rikku rolled her eyes
a little and shook her head sadly. Turning to the left Rikku and Sarah
came onto a path the lead down to the beach. Sarah sighed and walked
down onto the beach as her eyes scanned the land for signs of
Alan....none. Showing signs of defeat Sarah started to walk down the beach as
Rikku looked along the sand and she stopped dead in her tracks when she saw
something red seeped into the sand.

“ Sarah!” Rikku yelled as she bent down and touched the sand as fear
sent chills down her neck and spine. Sarah came up behind Rikku and she
gasped at the sight on the sand.

“ Rikku is......that....?” Sarah began to ask as Rikku nodded and
looked sadly at her.

“ It’s....blood.....”
*******************************************

Tidus shivered as he hugged himself as he saw his breath in the
icy cold wind. Slowly jumping up and down Tidus tried to keep himself
warm as he looked up and saw the main path that lead down to the Calm
Lands.

“ Come on Tidus. Just keep moving and soon you will be able to see the
Calm Lands. All you have to do is keep moving!” Tidus said out loud
softly to himself. If Tidus hadn’t took this trial he never would of found
the main path on his own and he knows that for sure. As he slowly
stepped on the blue rocks that were completely frozen Tidus grabbed a rock
and pulled himself up the steep path. Sighing again Tidus continued to
slowly pull himself up the path.

“ Think of Yuna and all your friends that are waiting or you. Think
about holding Yuna in your arms and feeling your lips against hers.” Tidus
told himself silently as Tidus reached his hand up and grabbed the
rocky ledge that was connected to the main path. Grabbing another part of
the ledge with his other hand Tidus slowly began to pull himself as he
groaned and pulled his upper body up, over the ledge. Letting out a sigh
Tidus continued to pull himself up as he forced his right leg over the
ice cold edge and continued to pull himself up as his other leg joined
him on the top. Plopping down on the snow Tidus decided to catch his
breath as the snow started to pick up with the icy winds that blew onto
him without mercy.

“ Now I see why its dangerous up here.” Tidus said as he stood up and
looked around at where he was. He recognized it immediately. As he
looked at the wall there were the stone shapes of bodies, now all gray and
dule and beaten on by the harsh winters snow of a year and the icy rain
and wind of a years worth. Turning his attention down to the body of
water the spiral no longer remained but only cold, and crystal clear
water remained, as if nothing was here at all. Looking down at the water he
saw his reflection and sighed. He looked like a mess and a regular mess
at that.

“ I should of slept longer at Ryanna’s but I know I can’t. Yuna needs
me and I need her.” Tidus said out loud as he planned to move on but
then the reflection of the water changed as it showed the first time that
he had arrived here with his friends. Tidus looked down at it in awe
and confusion as he bent down on his knees and watched it. It showed the
first time he had ever actually spoken with the fayth of Bahamut and
also the time that Tidus and Yuna had first kissed. Tidus cringed inside
as he saw these memories and then suddenly swiped the water with his
hand making the image disappear from view.

“ Nothing is going to stop me from getting to Yuna.....nothing.” Tidus
whispered with determination and meaning. As he picked up his speed he
fast walked toward the right of the path that lead down the mountain
and the Calm Lands. After reaching the Calm Lands he would figure out
what to do next and how to get closer to Yuna. Tidus turned the corner and
entered the large area where they had battled Seymour. This area was
still the same except his friends weren’t here with him and that was a
feeling no one liked to feel in the heart. Sighing he turned to continue
his journey down the mountain but he stopped when he felt a breath flow
down his neck. Stopping immediately Tidus froze in fear and slowly
turned his head to see a huge Bashura staring at him menacingly with his
flaming red eyes. Before Tidus could react the Bashura roared in anger
and hit Tidus in the chest, sending him flying into the snow a few feet
away. Stunned from the sudden act Tidus moaned and grabbed his chest.

“ Damn it!” Tidus cursed under his breath as the Bashura came running
up to him. Raising his arms he folded his hands together and flung his
hands down in a rage, in attempt to crush Tidus’s ribs and body. Tidus,
quickly seeing this coming rolled out of the way and forced himself up.
Quickly pulling out his Caladbolg, Tidus charged toward the rampaging
Bashura and then let out a scream of anger as he flung his sword down
with all his might at the Bashruas arm. Blood split all over the pure
white snow as the arm of the Bashura fell to the ground and the mighty
beast roared in pain. His roar was carried by the wind, and was sent all
around the mountain as it reached two sets of ears that belonged to
Auron and Jecht.

“ What the hell was that?!” Jecht said as the roar suddenly became loud
and clear. Running down the cave path, they came upon the clearing that
held the water and stone bodies. Another roar came again but this time
it was very close and very loud. Running along the path of snow and ice
Auron and Jecht turned the corner and headed down the path with the
stone towers. As Auron and Jecht neared the end of the path they gasped as
they saw Tidus being thrown against the side of the mountain by the one
armed Bashura.

“ Tidus!” Jecht called to his nearly unconscious son as Tidus groaned
and opened his eyes to feel something run down his forehead. Gently
lifting up his hand Tidus rubbed his gloved hand on his forehead and then
looked at it. Blood was caked on Tidus’s glove as Tidus moaned and tried
to get up but his body refused to answer and cooperate. Auron pulled
out his Murasame and ran toward the Bashura, in attempt to cut the huge
beast in half but the Bashura saw him coming and with his one arm spun
around, hitting Auron in the chest. Sending him flying back into the
snow, and having him gasping for air as the wind was knocked out of him.

The Bashura was about ready to attack Jecht when the Bashura suddenly
stopped and a huge metal clinging sound was heard behind him. The
Bashruas eyes slowly went wide as it bent down on one knee to show a huge cut
on it’s back and a cloaked figure behind him, holding a long silver
sword upward with blood dripping off the blade and dying the snow red.
Slowly bringing the blade down a deadly silence rang through the air as
the Bashura finally dropped to the ground, dead. The cloaked figure
slowly bent down and wiped the sword on the snow. in attempt to clean off
the sword. Jecht looked at the figure stunned as Tidus groaned and looked
up as Auron stood up, as surprised as Jecht. The face of the cloaked
figure was hidden but her other features were feminine. The cloaked
figure slowly stood up but kept it’s attention on Auron, as if it knew him.
Reaching forward the cloaked figure reached into one of it’s pockets
and pulled out a small pouch. Tossing it to Jecht, Jecht caught it with
ease but still looked confused as the cloaked figure pointed to Tidus.
Figuring out that this pouch was medicine or something Jecht ran to his
son and opened it to find a small bandage and a cloth. Auron, then
looked toward the cloaked figure and spoke.

“ Who....are you?” Auron spoke directly and curiously as the cloaked
figure slowly turned to Auron as Auron caught a glimpse of the eye color.
It was a beautiful brown color and it rang a bell in Auron’s memory but
he couldn’t recall them.

“ Someone from the past Auron....” the figure spoke softly then turned
and slowly walked away to the path leading down the mountain.

“ Wait!” Auron called as the figure continued it’s walk but then a
sudden gust of wind came up, making the snow and ice come up with it as the
three warrior’s shielded their eyes from the sudden cold. As it died
down Auron looked at the place the figure was to find it not there.
Looking around confused Auron looked around in hopes of seeing the figure
again but there was so night of him.

“ Man....Tidus took quite a hit to the head.” Jecht spoke as Auron
snapped out of his thoughts and back to reality. Walking over to Jecht and
Tidus, Auron looked down at Tidus as Jecht was trying to finish putting
on the bandage. Tidus let out a groan and slowly began to open his eyes
as his vision was blurry but he could clearly see two figures around
him and they came into view as his vision cleared.

“ Dad......Auron?” Tidus said slowly as he couldn’t believe what he was
seeing. Trying to get up Jecht grabbed Tidus’s left arm and started
pulling him up as Auron did the same with Tidus’s right arm. Groaning
again Tidus gently grabbed his head and shook it slightly. Opening his
bright blue eyes again he saw Jecht and Auron looking at him silently as
only the wind howling was heard.

“ Why are you here?” Tidus said slowly as he looked at Auron and Jecht
still with disbelief in his eyes. Jecht sighed and rubbed his temples
for a minute.

“ The same reason your here except I’m guessing that your going to see
Yuna first?” Jecht said as he folded his arms in front of his chest as
Auron lets out a deep breath as it appeared in the air and disappeared
into the never ending gray sky. Tidus not answering, walked back to the
wall he had hit and picked up his Caladbolg and sheathed it as he
turned his attention back to his dad.

“ Of course I’m going to see Yuna and I’m not letting anything get in
my way.” Tidus said getting to the point. Turning his attention to his
dad, memories of his childhood and Tidus fighting him in the final
battle filled his head as he struggled not to let tears fall. He knew that
if it did cry his father would just call him a cry baby again and even
though Tidus knew that was just his way of teasing he didn’t like being
called a cry baby. He was a grown man now and right now he was trying
to find the other half of his soul and heart.

“ Well I’m glad that your going to see your Yuna but we also have to
worry about this new enemy that’s supposedly coming.” Auron said as his
thoughts went back to that cloaked figure. Who was that cloaked figure
and why had he helped them? What did he mean by someone from the past?
Was he talking about my past or someone else's? These questions and more
filled Auron’s mind as he sighed from all the thinking.

“ Yeah I now about the upcoming evil but right now Auron I just have my
mind focused on reaching Besaid island and the village of it. I need to
see my friends again if I am to fight this evil and I can’t do it
alone.” Tidus said as he looked at Jecht and Auron. Jecht couldn’t help but
smile when he son said this in front of him. His small cry baby son who
couldn’t do anything was now a man. Tidus had experienced one of the
greatest things in life and that was true love Now that he had felt it
and knew that it was true, he would follow Yuna to the ends of the earth
and back. His little boy wasn’t a child or a cry baby anymore and this
time Jecht had to admit it.

“ Tidus.....I’m proud of you.” Jecht said as Tidus turned his attention
to him, confused and a bit surprised. Emotions filled Tidus’s eyes as
it showed as clear as day. Jecht sighed and moved his arms away from his
chest, as he stood up and locked his gaze to Tidus’s.

“ I’m proud you Tidus. You have lived your life to the fullest, despite
what I did during your childhood. Even though I wasn’t always the best
father you knew I loved you and I still do. You’ll always be my son and
I am proud to have a son like you.” Jecht spoke as the words just came
to mind as Tidus’s expression turned sad and somewhat joyous.

“ Dad.....” Tidus began but the words choked up in his throat. Emotions
Tidus hadn’t felt in a long time came rushing back through his body and
to his heart. Blinking his eyes, crystal like tears fell down his pale
cheek as he saw Jecht smiling.

“ Dad......thank you.” Tidus spoke from his heart as tears of happiness
and joy fell down his cheeks as Jecht came up to his and hugged him.
Tidus hugged back and let out a breath of relief and patted his dad’s
back as Jecht did the same. Auron smiled and shook his head slowly as
memories of Reandra and him came into his mind again.

“ Reandra....” Auron whispered to himself as a small image of Reandra’s
face entered his mind. Was she still alive and did she even remember
him? What if she had moved on or.....loved someone else now? Auron shook
his head and sighed. He didn’t want to think about it if Reandra had
loved someone else. Reaching into his pocket Auron pulled out the small
necklace and stared at it.

“ I promised I would come back to you and I intend to keep it.” Auron
whispered to himself as he turned back to his friends as they were still
hugging. After they let go Tidus wiped away the stream of water from
his eyes and turned to the path down the mountain. Jecht and Auron
started walking as Tidus led the way down the mountain, with happiness and a
new relationship with his father burning brightly in his heart.
*******************************

The roar of a engine filled the air as a large airship emerged from
the white clouds over the island of Besaid. People on the Besaid beach
looked up from their work and fishing as they watched the magnificent
ship dock at the end of the harbor. It was the same airship that had
aided Tidus, Yuna, and their friends on their long journey as it also
struck the memories of other people about the time of Sin. After the engine
of the large ship was shut off and quite people went back to their
normal work and daily things.

“ Finally it’s here!” said a young man who was a resident of Besaid.
Running up onto the harbor the young man walked toward the large airship
as a small door on the side opened and out came three Al Bhed. The
young man smiled and walked up to the three Al Bhed and shook hands with
them.

“ Thank you so much for delivering these supplies. Our village was
running out of fabric for our clothes and the village was panicked for
awhile.” the young man explained.

“ We were more than happy to deliver the fabrics to Besaid. Besides we
need to go buy supplies for the Al Bhed down on Bikanel Island anyway.
They are trying to rebuild Home and now something terrible has happened
down there from the news we got.” the young 24 year old Al Bhed said.
The young man from Besaid looked curiously at the Al Bhed and asked with
concern in his voice.

“ What has happened to the Al Bheds?” the man asked slowly as the Al
Bhed sighed and started to explain.

“ Supposedly a few nights ago one Al Bhed went out to do work and never
came back. There was a fierce storm that struck the island, causing
multiple damage to our work and now the wife of the Al Bhed that
disappeared is not doing well.” the Al Bhed explained as he turned to the other
Al Bheds and spoke to them in Al Bhed. After a few minutes they nodded
and started bringing out boxes that held the fabrics for Besaid. The
young man from Besaid looked confused for a minute and started looking
around the ship then turned to the Al Bhed and spoke.

“ Where is that young Al Bhed that always comes with you? I think her
name is.......uh.....Rikku? Yeah, that's it! Rikku!” the young man asked
in a high voice. The Al Bhed sighed a sigh of despair and annoyance for
a minute then started to explain again.

“ My sister, Rikku, is helping the search party for the missing Al Bhed
plus she is trying to help the wife of the young man. Her name is Sarah
and the young man’s name I think that disappeared is Alan though I am
not certain.” Rikku’s brother explained sadly as the other young man
sighed.

“ Hey Josh!” another man walking up the small harbor called as a group
of young man followed him up. Josh turned around and saw the small
group of young men come up so he walked up to them and gave them orders.

“ Hey there. Ok, now each of you grab a box and carry it back to Besaid
Village. The people need the fabrics and quick. I’ll catch up with you
later.” Josh instructed as the young men each walked up to the small
boxes and picked them up. As they started picking up the boxes Josh
turned back to Rikku’s brother and reached into his pocket.

“ Oh come on. I know I have in here somewhere....” Josh muttered to
himself as Rikku’s brother laughed a little in amusement. Josh finally
pulled out a small bag that was tied and handed it to Rikku’s brother.

“ Here you are. The amount of money we owe you for the fabrics and
thank you again for delivering these things.” Josh said as he walked over
to the remaining box and picked it up, setting it on his shoulder.

“ No problem but is Lady Yuna here still? I have a message for her from
Rikku and I would like to give it to her in person.” Rikku brother said
as he pulled out a small sphere and Josh nodded and started to speak
again.

“ Yes Lady Yuna is here and your lucky that she is. Supposedly her
guardians and her are suppose to leave soon and they were planning this
afternoon so if you have to give that to her why don’t you come with me?
I’ll take you to Besaid Village.” Josh said as he began walking down the
harbor to the path that lead the way along the cliff to Besaid Village.

“ I’m going to Besaid Village! Clean up the ship and fix the engine on
this thing. I think there’s something wrong with it.” Rikku’s brother
said as the other Al Bhed nodded and waved him off as he ran to catch up
with Josh.
*******

Yuna sighed and slowly walked toward the small window inside the large
temple. Looking at the large view of the ocean crashing upon the large
cliffs of Besaid was breath taking every time she looked at it.
Grabbing a chair Yuna pulled it up to the window and sat down in it as she
watched and listened to magnificent ocean as it seemed to speak.

“ I wonder what you would say if you could speak?” Yuna said out loud
as she stared at the ocean view. Sighing she opened up the window and as
she did the cool ocean breeze slowly made its way into Yuna’s room as
she slowly closed her eyes and let the smell of the open ocean fill her
lungs. The ocean breeze slowly flowed through her hair it made it flow
in different directions. Yuna slowly opened her eyes and then a small
image of Tidus smiling filled her mind. Sighing a small sigh Yuna sat
down on the chair and started to softly sing the Hymn of the Fayth.

“ Lady Yuna?” said a voice through her door followed by a loud knock.
Yuna sighed and stood up from her seat as the ocean breeze continued to
blow through her room. Walking to the door Yuna slowly opened it to see
a young teenager, about 14 standing there was a small smile upon her
face. Yuna smiled back and recognized the girl immediately.

“ Hello Kathy. What can I do for you?” Yuna spoke to Kathy as she
quickly grabbed Yuna’s hand, in attempt to pull her out of her room. Yuna,
surprised by this fell forward but managed to keep her balance as she
took her hand back and looked at Kathy confused.

“ Kathy what are you doing?” Yuna said as she slowly rubbed her wrist
and looked down at Kathy who was smiling still.

“ The Al Bhed has delivered the fabrics we need for the village and
also one of the Al Bhed is here to see you. I think he’s that Al Bhed,
Rikku’s brother.” Kathy said before she ran toward the entrance of the
temple, leaving Yuna still a little bit confused by the sudden action of
Kathy. Shaking her head she walked toward the entrance of temple.

Outside, Yuna saw many of the men of Besaid Village walking into the
center of the village and dropping off what looked like heavy crates off
their shoulders but of course the boxes were only full of fabrics. All
the young women and elderly gathered around the boxes as the men
started handing out fabrics to the women that were gathered around there.

“ Lady Yuna it is a pleasure to see you again.” Rikku’s brother said as
he walked up to Yuna and held out his hand. Yuna took it and shook with
a strong handshake as Wakka and Lulu appeared out of the crowd and
walked behind Yuna as they watched Rikku’s brother with a smile on their
face. Rikku’s brother looked up to Lulu and Wakka and smiled back.

“ Lady Lulu, Sir Wakka. It is nice to see you again.” Rikku’s brother
said as he shook both hands with Lulu and Wakka then turned his
attention to Yuna as he pulled out the sphere for her.

“ This is for you Lady Yuna. Rikku wanted to come and give it to you in
person but something has come up on Bikanel Island and she couldn’t
come.” Rikku’s brother explained as he handed it to Yuna. Yuna took it but
kept his attention on Rikku's brother as a look of worry and curiosity
appeared on her face.

“ What happened?” Yuna asked as Rikku’s brother sighed and explained
what had happened on the island.

“ A couple nights ago a young Al Bhed went out to work and disappeared
at the same time this sudden and fierce storm struck the island and
sadly enough it destroyed nearly all our work to rebuild Home. The wife of
the missing Al Bhed is not doing so well and Rikku has stayed behind to
try and help her.” Rikku’s brother explained as he looked at the
sphere.

“ Oh how terrible!” Yuna said sadly as she clutched the sphere tightly
as Lulu softly placed a hand on her shoulder and Yuna turned her face
to Lulu’s.

“ Maybe Rikku’s sphere will explain more.” Lulu suggested as Yuna
nodded and pressed a certain button as a small figure of Rikku appeared
above the small blue screen.

“ Hi Yunnie. It’s me Rikku and if you got this message then well I
couldn’t of come to visit you with the load of fabrics and I just wanted to
tell you why and that I’m sorry. As my brother may have already told
you, my friend Sarah’s husband named Alan, has disappeared and she is
very depressed about it right now. Hopefully you’ll understand why I can’t
leave just yet. We’re searching Bikanel Island right now for Alan and
hopefully he’s alive somewhere. Thanks again for understanding and I’ll
see you soon.” Rikku’s message spoke before her image winked and
disappeared. Yuna sighed and looked up at Rikku’s brother as she talked to
him for a minute.

“ Could you tell her for me that I completely understand about her not
visiting and that she has my support all the way?” Yuna asked Rikku’s
brother as he nodded and Wakka spoke up.

“ Yuna are you sure that you want to leave today to go look for Tidus?
I mean we don’t even know where he is.” Wakka said out loud as Yuna
sighed and stared at the ground. Wakka was right about this one. Tidus was
alive she was sure of it but where could he be? Spira was so big and it
could take years to find him, and Yuna’s heart just couldn’t bear that
long. She had to find him soon before her soul itself faded away from
the loneliness of missing her other half of it.

“ Wakka I don’t know how and I don’t know when but I will find
Tidus.....even if it takes me forever.” Yuna said as she put the sphere in the
pocket of her dress as Rikku’s brother spoke up.

“ Uh...Lady Yuna if you want your friends and you can get a ride on the
airship and we will take you to the Calm Lands. Perhaps that is a good
place to start looking for your lost friend?” Rikku’s brother asked as
Yuna’s face beamed up with happiness and excitement.

“ Would you really take us to the Calm Lands?” Yuna’s asked quickly to
Rikku’s brother as he nodded and Yuna smiled a smile of happiness and
content.

“ Thank you so much. When will you be leaving?” Yuna asked Rikku’s
brother as he smiled a little and explained. Lulu and Wakka turned to each
other and smiled as they knew that would be a good place to start. The
Calm Lands were enormous but also had very reliable resources there for
people.

“ We will be leaving in half a hour due to some engine trouble but not
much longer than that so if you do want to come along with us you had
better hurry. I’ve got to get back to the airship so I guess I’ll see
you there.” Rikku’s brother said before he turned from Yuna, Lulu, and
Wakka and started running toward the exit of the village.

“ Where is Kimahri?” Yuna asked as she turned around to Lulu and Wakka.
Wakka looked at Yuna and started explaining.

“ Kimahri left a note saying that the Ronso’s at Mt. Gagazet needed him
so he left early this morning to go back to the Calm Lands on another
airship that arrived early thing morning.” Wakka explained to Yuna as
she nodded as she understood as Lulu started to talk.

“ Since we already have all the money, items and our weapons we might
as well leave now so we don’t miss our flight out of here or its a very
long walk to the Calm Lands from here.” Lulu said with her soft voice.
Yuna slowly nodded again and started walking toward the exit of Besaid
Village one more time and this time nothing was going to stop her. She
had set her heart on seeing Tidus again and this time no one was going
to stop her.

Chapter 8
A Long Awaited Moment

The mighty roar of the engine filled the air as Yuna walked slowly
toward the large and awaiting airship. Taking a moment to look at the
mighty piece of machinery, Yuna slowly moved her gaze back and forth.
The airship was as wide and grand as before. The bright and powerful
colors that surrounded the exterior made it very easy to see and also made
it look like it was very powerful, despite its size. The unique shape
of the ship was also unforgettable. Though this ship was not the best
one in the land, it had aided Yuna and her friends to get to places in
Spira that no one had seen or heard of in years. Sighing a heavy sigh
Yuna blinked her emotionless eyes and shook her head slightly. Feeling a
hand on her shoulder Yuna glanced to her right to see Lulu looking at
her with soft and worried eyes. Yuna smiled a little, nodded her head
slightly and continued walking toward the small harbor.

“ Yuna....you have to decide now if your going or not.” Lulu said as
she walked behind Yuna. Yuna sighing a heavy sigh again nodded and then
stopped again at the beginning of the wooden dock. Not far behind Wakka
and Kimahri were following behind the two ladies and talking.

“ Kimahri can I ask ya something?” Wakka asked as he looked at the
silent Ronso. Kimahri nodded and turned his attention to Wakka as he
listened, as silent as ever.

“ Uh...well....do you actually think that Tidus is back? I mean...I
miss him...god knows he was like a brother to me but...do you think it’s
possible? I know Yuna loves him deeply and I mean deeply also there’s a
part of me that does believe it but....there’s also a part that
doesn’t...” Wakka trailed off. Rubbing the back of his neck and let out a
groan of annoyance. Sighing a short sigh Wakka stopped walking for a minute
as Kimahri stopped in front of him, and crossed his arms in front of
his chest, waiting for Wakka to finish the question.

“ Well....to get to the point what do you think about this?” Wakka
finally finished as he stared at the huge beast. Kimahri, in response,
slowly closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Knowing that Kimahri was
trying to think of an answer Wakka continued to watch Kimahri as he
thought of a suitable answer. Finally opening his eyes Kimahri looked at
Wakka and unfolded his arms.

“ Kimahri thinks that...if this love between Yuna and Tidus is as
strong as it seems then yes Kimahri thinks Tidus is back. Yuna is...a young
women in this world that needs to feel this love that Tidus and she
share again. After all that Yuna has been through, she deserves almost
everything...but the only thing she really wants is a chance to be with
Tidus again. That is what Kimahri thinks and does that answer Wakka’s
question?” Kimahri spoke clearly and importantly. Wakka stood there with
wide and shocked eyes as Kimahri looked at him questionably. Finally
shaking his head Wakka smiled and looked at Kimahri for a minute.

“ Ya know....sometimes....you just so damn surprising.” Wakka spoke
with a big smile as a small smile slowly spread on his face. Nodding a
little Kimahri unfolded his arms, turned his back to Wakka and began
walking toward the airship again. Wakka sighed, scratched his head and also
started walking toward the airship. Meeting up the other three at the
beginning of the wooden dock, Wakka moved his attention to Yuna. Looking
at her eyes Wakka saw so many emotions that he hardly heard a Al Bhed
call to Yuna and the others.

“ Lady Yuna!” the Al Bhed called to Yuna as she slowly walked to the
small group of four. Turning her body around she looked at a young women
who was about 16. She was about a inch shorter than her and she had
long brown hair that was tied up in a bun. She had soft green eyes that
could stun anyone by how light they were. Her body was slender but also a
little bit more muscular than most women. Clearly this teenager had
been in battle before of the small scar on the side of her neck and also
because of the small dagger on her belt. The young girl smiled and held
out her hand as Yuna smiled back, took her hand and shook it softly for
a few moments.

“ It is a pleasure to meet you Lady Yuna. My name is Lorelei.” as she
slowly took her hand away and looked at Lulu, Wakka, and Kimahri, and
also smiled at them. Turning her attention back to Yuna she pushed a
strand of her hair away from her face and sighed.

“ It’s nice to meet you Lorelei. So how are you?” Yuna asked trying to
make a conversation last. Lorelei smiled a little and was about to say
something when someone from the Al Bhed ship started yelling to her in
Al Bhed.

“ Munamae, E heet ouin ramb fedr dra creb’c ahkaha! Ed’c yldehk ib
ykyeh!” the young man yelled from the entrance of the ship. Lorelei turned
the way of the young man, waved her arm a little, and answered back.

“ Ymnekrd E’aa pa drana yc cuuh yc E lyh.” Lorelei called back to the
young man as nodded and walked back into the ship. Lorelei turned back
to Yuna and had a apologetic look on her face and Yuna wondered what was
wrong.

“ I’m sorry Lady Yuna but I have to go help out one of the crew members
with the engine of the ship. It’s acting up again but it certainly was
nice meeting you.” Lorelei said before bending the upper part of her
body, waving a little, then running into the ship leaving Yuna a little
confused. Yuna smiled a little then giggled as she started walking
toward the ship again.

“ Tidus....I’m coming.....to you once again....and no matter
what...nothing will separate again.” Yuna thought to herself as she stepped into
the large ship and the four characters went their separate ways into
the large ship. Lulu slowly walked up the large stairs toward the large
glass windows and stared at the view. Wakka stayed down near the
entrance and stood in a corner, lost in thought. Kimahri walked toward the
door near the main control room of the ship and also started to think.
Yuna, ever so slowly, made her way into the control room and walked toward
the large window but stopped behind the large chair that was before the
controls of the ship. Staring out into the endless blue sky Yuna
blinked her soft eyes as they slowly filled with emotions that was beyond
describable. As her eyes scanned the horizon out of the corner of her eye
she caught a glimpse of a shadow. Letting out a surprised gasp she
fully turned her attention to it, to see it wasn’t there.

“ What was that?” Yuna asked herself as her body showed confusion and
surprise. Suddenly feeling a sense of danger fill her she looked back to
the spot where she had seen the shadow and stared at it with a serious
face. Questions began to fill her mind as each of them seemed to leave
a mark in her mind. What was that shadow? Did it have anything to do
with this new evil rising? If so, is it suppose to stop me or is it good?
Shaking her head slowly she turned her attention to the center of the
room. Looking at the unique control panel she slowly walked up to it and
softly ran her hand over the smooth and cold metal surface. Hearing the
main door open she turned her attention to three Al Bhed entering the
room and talking to each other loudly, one of them was Rikku’s brother.

“ Did you finally get the engine fixed?” Rikku’s brother asked the
other Al Bhed nodded and went to the far right control and sat in the large
chair. Pushing a few buttons and hearing a few beeps the Al Bhed stared
at the small screen for a few seconds then turned to Rikku’s brother
and spoke.

“ Dra syeh ahkeha ec uhmeha yht nayto du ku!” the Al Bhed’s voice spoke
loud and confidently. Rikku’s brother nodded, smiled a little, and then
turned to the other Al Bhed next to him.

“ Get the engines going while I talk to some of the other Al Bheds.”
Rikku’s brother said as he turned his attention to Yuna and walked up to
her.

“ Nice to see you again Lady Yuna. I see that you have decided to join
us on our little trip to the Calm Lands?” Rikku’s brother asked quickly
as Yuna nodded.

“ Yes we have. Sir Wakka, Sir Kimahri, Lady Lulu, and myself are hoping
that you can give us a lift to the Calm Lands with no problem. If there
is anything we can do to help or be out of the way we would be honored
to help since your giving us a ride.” Yuna said to Rikku’s brother as
he raised his hand and shook it swiftly as a small smile appeared on his
face again.

“ Please Lady Yuna, it is a honor to have you on this ship again.”
Rikku’s brother said before another Al Bhed tapped on his shoulder and
showed him a bunch of papers attached to a small clipboard. Giving Yuna the
signal for one moment please, he quickly looked through them and then
spoke to the Al Bhed.

“ Ug kuut! Kad ed kuehk yc oui lyh!” Rikku’s brother quickly said as
the other took back the clipboard and nodded as he walked to the main
control on the left of the room and started working on it. Turning his
attention back to Yuna, Rikku’s brother started talking again.

“ Sorry about that Lady Yuna. Well anyway to get to the point, we’ll be
ready to leave in five minutes.” Rikku’s brother said before he smiled
and then walked out of the control room followed by another Al Bhed.
Yuna sighed and walked out of the control room and toward the upper deck
with the windows. Going down the hall, Yuna with each step grew more
and more anxious. It wouldn’t be long till they got to the Calm Lands, it
was a hour to two hour ride at the most.

“ The question is....where is he?” Yuna said out loud to herself as she
started walking up the steps to the large room. Reaching the top of the
stairs she turned to the right and walked to a window as she stared at
her reflection in the window. Memories of that fateful night in
Macalania came rushing back into her mind as without knowing it Yuna’s hand
slowly raised to her lips and touched them softly. Yuna could still feel
his touch and soon she would be able too and this time it would be more
magical than before. Hugging herself slightly she was suddenly was
brought out of thoughts with a sudden jolt, loud machine noise and the
floor shaking. Losing her footing for a minute Yuna managed to keep herself
from falling as she looked out the window the Besaid Harbor began to be
smaller and smaller till the ship started moving forward and soon
Besaid was out of sight. This was the beginning of another journey for Yuna
and her friends and something inside her told her that this wasn’t
going to good.
**************************

On top of the flying ship was a lone shadow figure as it began to
take form as it formed Malchus. A evil smile appeared on his face as he
finally opened his blood red eyes as they glowed a haunting radiance.
Slowly standing up the sun’s reflection bounced off a small metal sheath
that held a sword.

“ So....that was the famous Yuna that defeated Sin and Yu Yevon.”
Malchus said as he looked back toward the window where Yuna was looking out
of. Malchus sneered evilly at Yuna then let out a low and cold chuckle.

“ Yu Yevon was a fool....he should of stayed with Master Darsus when he
had the chance. He managed to keep the humans under control for a
thousand years with fear until this so called Tidus and Yuna stood up
against him. Pathetic fool....he never stood chance...” Malchus said as
memory came rushing back.
* Two Thousand Years Ago*

Malchus slowly walked through a large stone hallway as echoes of
screams of pain and death filled it. The large hallway had stained windows
that bestowed murals of battles, humans versus monsters. The humans
managed to kill off alot but at the end they lost so many of their kind they
became slaves to Lord Darsus. Malchus wore a long red robe that also
held his medallion in the center and his hood was down. Reaching the
large double doors in front of him two monsters came forward and opened
them for him. Walking into the room Malchus got on one knee and bowed his
head.

“ You wished to see my master.” Malchus spoke briefly as he stood up to
see a Darsus standing in front of a large window, overlooking the
fields that some of the humans worked in.

“ Isn’t it pitiful Malchus?” Darsus spoke still watching out the window
with his hands clutched together behind his back as Malchus stood up
with not a emotion showing on his face.

“ What is pitiful my lord?” Malchus asked as he walked a few steps
toward Darsus but stopped a few feet away from him. Darsus slowly took in a
deep breath and then turned to his most loyal servant with his deep,
dark, blood red eyes.

“ These humans Malchus....these pitiful and worthless humans.” Darsus
spoke before he slowly started walking toward the center of the room.
Around the room were torches of fire lighting the room and more murals
hung from the wall.

“ Yes my lord, I think that the humans are just mere dirt under our
feet.” Malchus said as he kept his attention on Darsus. Darsus slowly
turned his attention back to Malchus as he nodded and then walked swiftly
toward a large chair and sat on it.

“ Malchus...you are my most trusted soldier and for that I shall grant
power over the whole entire army but there is one thing that crosses my
mind....” Darsus trailed off. Malchus, again remained emotionless as he
waited for his lord to finish what he was saying.

“ The other soldier...Yu Yevon...he concerns me deeply. I have had
visions about that demon and they show me that he will have control over
the pitiful mortals for some time and that could mean he is planning to
throw me over.” Darsus said as he looked at Malchus.

“ Should I exterminate him then my lord?” Malchus said as a small evil
smile appeared on his face at the image of him killing Yu Yevon in the
most painful way possible.

“ Not yet...let us see if these visions should come true....” Darsus
said as he leaned forward and putting his two hands together again. A
loud knock came from the door as Darsus’s temper rose.

“ WHAT?!” Darsus roared as his voice echoed through the large chamber.
The door opened as a monster came in and bowed.

“ Forgive me for interrupting your meeting my lord but we have had a
problem with a human.” the monster said as Darsus stood up and looked at
the monster with a rage.

“ What problem? You can’t even handle one pitiful human?” Darsus said
angrily as his eyes glowed again and the monster was obviously trembling
in fear.

“ M...M...My lord this human seems to be no ordinary human. He seems
to have some....creatures protecting him. We managed to capture him and
throw him into the dungeon but we thought you should know my lord.” the
monster reported with fear as Darsus’s red eyes calmed a little.

“ At least you idiots do something right....very well. I will see this
human later but do NOT interrupt my meetings again or you will face a
most painful death.” Darsus said as Malchus smiled a little and then
turned his attention to the monster.

“ U....Understood my lord.” the monster replied before bowing his head
again and rushing out the door and shutting behind him but then another
monster appeared in front of the door.

“ Yu Yevon....what do you want?” Darsus said as he sat back down as the
monster looked up with his pitch black eyes. Like Malchus, he was
wearing a red robe but had no medallion. Bending down on one knee like the
others he bowed his head and spoke.

“ Forgive me Master but I wish to quickly speak with you about a most
urgent matter.” Yu Yevon spoke as Darsus nodded and Yu Yevon stood up,
quickly giving a glare to Malchus and deliberately making sure he caught
it, which Malchus did. Malchus eyed Yu Yevon as he walked a few steps
up, never moving his attention from him.

“ Master I wish to speak to you about these humans. I have a theory my
lord. This theory is that if we give these people free will they will
respect us monsters but they would have to worship you. I think it would
work but it is certainly up to you my lord.” Yu Yevon said as he saw
Malchus slowly move his hand to the grip of his sword in his sheath.

Darsus slowly stood up and looked at Yu Yevon as his eyes began to
flare again.

“ Do you actually suggest that I let these pitiful beings have free
will? Do you know what problems that could cause?! If I let these humans
have free will somewhere and some when one of the humans could get the
idea to stand up to us and that s something I don’t want to happen.”
Darsus clearly said to Yu Yevon.

“ But my lord I really...” Yu Yevon tried to say but he never the
chance to finish as Darsus stood up, held out his hand as a dark flame
formed in his hand.

“ Do I have to repeat myself?” Darsus said coldly as the flame burned
in his hand. Yu Yevon’s eyes changed from calm to angry and Malchus
somehow knew what he was going to do. In the blink of a eye Yu Yevon let
out a rush of anger as he drew his sword and tried to attack Darsus but
Malchus had drawn his sword and blocked Yu Yevon’s with his.

“ Your always getting in my way Darsus....I should be the one to rule,
not you!” Yu Yevon yelled as his eyes flared with anger and rage.
Darsus merely stood there, staring at Yu Yevon with his blood red eyes and
finally he let out s sigh. Malchus held his sword with one hand with
ease as Yu Yevon shook with emotion.

“ You disappoint me Yu Yevon.....Malchus....” Darsus said before waving
his hand a little and then Malchus flew his sword down and kicking Yu
Yevon in the torso, knocking him away from Darsus and stunning him for a
second. Malchus slowly lowered his sword and walked toward Yu Yevon as
he smiled evilly and stared at Malchus.

“ So Malchus....is this how we start our friendship?” Yu Yevon said
with a evil smile as Malchus’s eyes started to glow red again.

“ Friends? With you? Sorry...I don’t socialize with weaklings...”
Malchus said as he raised his sword again and started sword combat with Yu
Yevon. Swinging the sword back and forth and at different angles Yu
Yevon had a hard time blocking them as he let out a groan. The clattering
of swords echoed through the large room and sparks from the swords
colliding flew in different directions. Raising his sword, Malchus attempted
to cut his head open but Yu Yevon blocked it. Smiling a evil smirk
Malchus pressed down on the sword as Yu Yevon glared angrily at Malchus.

“ This....is where you depart Yu Yevon....” Malchus said before using
his free hand to reach to his side quickly and pull out a dagger.
Flinging it up it pierced the skin in his chest as Yu Yevon let out a scream
of pain. Falling backwards the sword fell from his hand and hit the
floor, making a unnatural clinging sound. Time seemed to slow down its
self as Malchus lowered his sword and Darsus smiled evilly again.
Sheathing his sword and dagger Malchus smirked and snapped his fingers. Two
monsters came through the door as they looked shocked at the body of Yu
Yevon.

“ Get rid of him before you meet his same fate.” Malchus said coldly
as the two monsters nodded and rushed forward, dragging the body out of
the room.

* End of Memory*

Smiling again Malchus stood up as his cloak swayed in the wind and
turning he walked toward the end of the ship but faded out before
reaching the end.
********************

Tidus slowly closed his eyes as tiredness was almost taking a toll
on him and from the coldness of Mt. Gagazet’s snow he kept him awake
also. Looking behind him Tidus saw his father, Jecht and Auron not far
behind him, not looking the least bit tired. Shaking his head in
confusion Tidus continued to walk and wonder.

“ How can these guys not be tired? God if I don’t find a bed soon I’ll
collapse from tiredness. Well I guess they don’t tire easily....after
all...they are the Legendary Guardians.” Tidus thought to himself as he
turned his attention to the left and saw a large pile of stones,
covered in snow and ice. A small red flag stood in the rocks, flying silently
in the air....in the cold and deadly air. Stopping and looking at it
Tidus looked around and tried to remember this spot as Auron and Jecht
also stopped. Rubbing the back of his neck Jecht sighed a heavy sigh and
graoned.

“ Damn it, my stupid neck is killing me!” Jecht complained as Auron
couldn’t help but smile a little. Jecht then started moving his shoulders
around as he looked at Tidus, who was still trying to figure out where
he was.

“ You do know where we are right?” Jecht asked his son as Tidus looked
at his father with a annoyed look. Jecht shot a look right back and
crossed his arms in front of his chest as Tidus sighed a sigh of defeat.

“ Yeah I do know where we are...I’m just....not exactly where on the
mountain right now that’s all.” Tidus said as Auron let out a laugh.
Jecht smiled and also started laughing as Tidus also chuckled. After
laughing Auron walked up to the stone pile and bent down and looked at it.

“ We’re almost at the entrance to Mt. Gagazet and also near the
beginning of the Calm Lands.” Auron said as Tidus looked happy and jumped a
little.

“ Oh thank god! I was getting so sick of this cold!” Tidus said as
Jecht walked up to his son and messed up his hair. Tidus, let out a yell of
surprise moved out of his fathers grasp and tried to fix his hair as
Jecht laughed again. Auron sighed and then stood up and started walking
down the path again. After he was a few feet away from them Tidus called
to Auron for him to wait up as Tidus came running up to him with Jecht
not far behind him.

“ You know you could of at least waited till I had fixed my hair!”
Tidus said with a playful-anger tone. Jecht caught up with them and tried
to catch his breath at the same time he was walking. Looking at Tidus
for a minute then to Auron he turned his attention to the gray sky and
tried to remember the Calm Lands. As the image of a large piece of green
land filled his mind he smiled a little.

“ We’re finally getting off this damn mountain! I was getting so sick
of nothing but snow, snow and more damn snow!” Jecht thought to himself
as Auron seemed to walk faster as the stone path started to form. Here
was the entrance to Mt. Gagazet and to the Calm Lands, their
destination....for now anyways. Reaching his gloved hand into a small pocket his
hand surrounded the small necklace as his hand closed tightly around
it.

“ Bevelle is near here....maybe I’ll pay a visit to it soon...” Auron
thought to himself as the snow started to disappear and the sounds of
birds started to fill the air again. Tidus smiling a huge smile ran ahead
of Auron and over the large wooden bridge that was crossed over a small
gorge. Seeing some green Tidus’s spirit started to lift as he turned
the corner in the large cliff he stopped at the amazing and breath taking
sight of the Calm Lands. Breathing heavily Tidus looked around at the
large field as a feeling of happiness started to overcome his senses and
self. Slowly sliding to his knees Tidus sat on the ground and stared at
the sight.

“ The Calm Lands.....its not any different.” Tidus said out loud as the
crickets chirp started to fill the air as Tidus looked up at the sky.
Stars started to form as the sun’s setting colors painted the sky pink,
orange and red. Staring at the colors Tidus closed his eyes for a
minute and just breathed as a soft breeze blew threw his face and hair.
Feeling a hand on his shoulder Tidus opened his cerulean eyes to see Jecht
behind him with a look of understanding on his face. Sighing a heavy
sigh Tidus stood up as he looked toward the center of the Calm Lands he
let out a loud gasp as his eyes couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
There, docked at the rest area was the same airship that had helped out
Tidus and his friends during their adventure.

“ Tidus? What is it?” Jecht asked as he looked at the airship, to his
son, and back. Tidus was still speechless as tears started forming in
the corner of his eyes. Jecht looked worried now as Auron grabbed Jecht
shoulder and explained it.

“ If I’m not wrong, that’s the same airship that helped us out near the
end of....well....you know...” Auron said as Jecht nodded and then he
went back to look at his son to see that he was running toward the ship
at full speed.

“ Tidus!” Jecht called but then he sighed and looked at Auron. Auron
looked at him with the same expression as Jecht shook his head and
started walking toward the rest area as Auron glanced at the entrance of the
Calm Lands then began following him.

Tidus was running as fast as he could toward the airship that lay
before him. His breath was ragged and stuck in his chest as his legs ached
in pain from all the running but he ignored the pain. Getting closer to
the airship he could make out two figures talking in front of the ship.
Tidus immediately recognized one of them, Rikku’s brother. Stopping
behind Rikku’s brother he caught his breath a little and spoke.

“ Hey!” Tidus said as Rikku’s brother immediately froze as he
recognized the voice. Turning around slowly his expression turned to immediate
shock as he saw Tidus before his eyes.

“ Sir Tidus! Your alive?! How?!” Rikku’s brother finally spoke as Tidus
suddenly grabbed his shoulders and looked at him.

“ Tell me....can you take me to Besaid Village?! I need to get to Yuna
as soon as possible!!” Tidus said with hurry and plead in his voice.
Rikku’s brother was still shocked but he answered as calmly as he could.

“ Lady Yuna and the others.....are....here....” Rikku’s brother
answered as Tidus’s face grew more and more happy.

“ Where are they?! Tell me!” Tidus said as Rikku’s brother pointed
inside the ship and Tidus automatically ran into the ship at full speed.
Listening for the familiar voices of his friends, comrades, and almost
family he franticly began looking around and he before he could realize
where he was he found himself standing at the bottom of the stairs that
lead up to the room with all the glass windows. Time seemed to freeze
in its place as Tidus strained his ears to listen for familiar voices.

“ Wakka....I’m worried about Yuna.” said Lulu’s voice from the top of
the stairs. Tidus gasped a little then slowly started walking up the
stairs. Step by step Tidus’s heart began to beat with excitement and
happiness as his eyes widened as he stopped at the top of the stairs. There
was Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri, back facing him and staring out at the
Calm Land and talking.

“ Lulu...we both are but we got to have faith. You know as well as I do
that Tidus is going to return....hey it may be sooner than you think
ya?” Wakka said as he shrugged. Tidus finally gathered up the courage and
spoke though his voice was barely above a quite one.

“.......I am back...” Tidus spoke as the three slowly turned around and
gasped in shock to see Tidus standing in front of them. A awkward
silence rang over the four warriors as Wakka finally blinked then walked up
to Tidus before hugging him to death. Catching him off guard Tidus
gasped for air from the tremendous hug as Lulu and Kimahri came running up
with smiles on their faces.

“ Tidus!! Oh my god...how....how did you? When did you??” Wakka said
happily as he let go Tidus smiled and patted Wakka’s shoulder. Turning to
Lulu she looked at him and spoke.

“ He can tell us later....but now he needs to see Yuna.” Lulu said as
Tidus nodded and looked around for her but failed to find her.

“ She’s not here.....she’s at Macalania Lake... Go to her Tidus but
don’t you ever leave her again or I will personally see that you never
talk to her again.” Lulu threatened as Tidus smiled a little, nodded , and
then ran out the exit. Jecht and Auron slowly walked up the stairs as
Lulu, Wakka and Kimahri were surprised again.

“ Sir Auron! Sir Jecht! Your back too?” Wakka asked as he grabbed his
head in confusion. Lulu looked at the two warrior’s and talked.

“ How......are you back?” Lulu asked calmly as she could as Jecht
sighed and started explaining what had happened, what was going on and what
was going to have to be done once again.
**************

Tidus ran into the Macalania Woods as fast as his legs could carry
him. As he ran his heart began to feel healed once again, his angel was
near....he knew it. Turning the corner Tidus ran down the short path
and then stopped at the small lake as his heart leaped for joy. There
standing at the edge of the lake was Yuna, his angel, his love, his soul
mate. She was more beautiful then ever and she was standing right there,
before his very eyes. He had dreamed of this moment for a year and now
it was finally happening. Tidus’s heart ached as he saw tears fall down
Yuna’s face as she closed her eyes and let tears flow.

“ I can’t take it anymore......please Tidus...come back to me...come
back to me.” Yuna pleaded between tears as her heart, soul, and body
ached for the one man she loved. Then she slowly felt a pair of arms encase
her small waist as she turned around to see Tidus standing right before
her eyes.

“ T....Tidus?” Yuna spoke as more tears fell down her face. Tidus’s
eyes slowly let tears fall down his face to as he slowly lifted his hands
and held her head in his hands.

“ Yes Yuna...it’s me....I’m back and for good.” Tidus said before Yuna
flung her arms around Tidus’s neck and pulled her body as close as
possible against his. Tidus immediately tightened his grip on her waist and
pulled her close to him as they were silent for a moment. Only the
sound of their hearts beating as one could be heard besides their heavy
breathing. Finally losing her grip a little Yuna moved her attention back
to Tidus’s face as she locked her eyes with his.

“ Tidus....how do I know....this isn’t a dream or something?” Yuna
asked slowly as Tidus answered her by locking her lips with his. Yuna
slowly closed her eyes and kissed back with all the passion she had kept
locked up inside. Emotions of love, compassion, and other feelings filled
each others hearts and souls as they continued to kiss. Slowly they
could feel the warmth feeling of pure love fill their hearts again and
Tidus kept his lips locked with hers. The internal pain of being separated
just vanished as if it hadn't been there at all. Slowly, ever so
slowly, Tidus gently pulled his lips away from hers and he caressed her
cheek.

“ Yuna...I have to tell you something....I love you too.” Tidus spoke
with all his love for her as Yuna smiled a little and softly pressed her
hand onto his cheek. Those words, those three simple words had
completely healed her soul, heart and love. Yuna’s breath was short and sharp
as she slowly gathered up her voice that was failing her.

“ Tidus....I have waited for this moment for so long....I love you so
much....I love you with all my heart....please promise me that you’ll
never leave me again?” Yuna pleaded as Tidus held his hands to her face.

“ I promise that I will never leave you again Yuna....no matter what I
will always be with you. I love you more than anything in life
Yuna....” Tidus finished. To seal the promise they had made to each others
hearts the sealed their lips together in another passionate kiss. The
glowing warmth of their pure white love warmed each other hearts as the
stars twinkling lights reflected off of the crystal clear water.

Hidden in the crystal like trees the cloaked figure kneeled on a
tree branch, watching the two long lost lovers reunite. A small smile
appeared on the cloaked figure’s face as it stood up. Turning its
attention toward the Calm Lands direction a small crystal like tear slip from
the hidden face.

“ Soon.....soon I’ll finally be able to show myself....” the cloaked
figure spoke softly. Turning its attention upward the cloaked figure
jumped further into the thickening trees, as if it was never there to begin
with.

Chapter 9
Secrets Revealed

Rikku and Sarah slowly trudged through the thick and steamy sand as
the Al Bhed camp and the small ruins of the Home. Stopping for a second
Rikku blinked her spiral emerald eyes and looked down at the once proud
Home. Slowly moving a strand of her blonde hair out of her face, she
didn’t notice Sarah stopping a few feet ahead of her and looking back.

“ Rikku?” Sarah asked worryingly as Rikku snapped out of thought and
smiled a small smile. Sighing and crossing her arms in front of her chest
she looked at Sarah with reassuring features on her face.

“ I’m alright Sarah. You go on ahead without me. I’m just going to stay
here for awhile and think about stuff. I’ve had alot of my mind
lately.” Rikku explained as Sarah showed understand on her face. Nodding her
head slowly she closed her cerulean eyes and turned her head forward.
Slowly moving forward she made her way down the sandy hill, to rejoin the
working Al Bhed. Rikku kept her attention on Sarah until she was out of
sight and had disappeared into the never ending rows of green tent tops
and scattered pieces of machina.

The bold colors of red, pink, and orange filled the hot desert air the
bold streaks of light seemed to be painted across the large sky. As a
soft breeze blew through the hot air, Rikku closed her eyes for a minute
and let the wind blow across her skin. The breeze felt cool and
welcoming on her pale skin as she let out a small and long sigh. As if on cue,
the wind ended along with her sigh and she slowly opened her eyes to
look at the magnificent sight again.

“ Its been a year since all this horror ended and still it doesn’t look
any different than it had before.” Rikku said out loud to herself as
she closed her eyes and remembered all the struggles, sadness, happiness,
and friendships that had happened on her adventure all over Spira.

“ What should I do?” Rikku questioned herself as she brought her hand
to her head and rubbed her eyes for a minute. Questions filled her mind
as worry and anxiety as the two most important things entered her mind.
Yuna, her cousin, and Home, the only place she could truly call a place
to live. Walking to a nearby Machina part Rikku slowly moved forward as
she reached the outstretching part of the machina and slowly sat down
on it as she put her attention to the ground of the hot sand.

“.....Yuna...what are you going to do without Tidus?” Rikku asked out
loud as she remembered the times that she saw Tidus spend with Yuna
during their adventure. So many memories, so many emotions, so many lost
loves. Tidus and Yuna’s love...would of lasted forever with all the pain
but also good times they had.

“ I wonder....when am I...going to find someone?” Rikku said as her
thoughts trailed off. Her thoughts traveled to all the available Al Bhed
around but none of them seemed to interest her. She had known them all
her live, and they were all like family to her. Sighing a heavy sigh she
slowly closed her eyes and went silent. Listening to the wind slowly
blow she suddenly gasped as she heard a low moan.

“ Who’s there?!” Rikku said as she suddenly jumped up and looked behind
her franticly for someone but saw nothing. Her breathing became sharp
and fast as she pulled out her Godhand and put it on. Tightly wrapping
her fingers around the handle of it, she scanned the never ending sea of
sand.

“ Help....me....” the voice said as Rikku looked to the right of her,
where the voice was coming from. Slowly moving forward she tried to
recognize the voice but didn’t. Inching forward, slowly, ever so slowly,
she turned a sand dune and the moan became even louder.

“ Ramb Sa!! Cusapuyo!! Bmayce!!” the voice called in Al Bhed as Rikku
recognized the voice. Turning into a run she ran up a hill and then
gasped. There on the ground was a young Al Bhed girl, about 6 or 7. Her
long brown hair was soaked in blood as her body lay on the sand, limp and
hurt. Wounds and cuts clearly showed under her clothing as the young
girl cried.

“ Kathryn!!!” Rikku yelled as she ran down the steep sand dune. Sliding
down the last part of it she landed on the sand. Quickly running to the
little girls side she gently turned her over and gasped at what she
saw. Blood was caked all over the young girl’s body as Rikku saw she was
in immense pain. Blood was caked in blood, her breathing was shallow and
it looked like she was struggling to stay alive.

“ Oh my god....” Rikku said slowly in a soft voice. Snapping her head
toward the direction of the Home, Rikku stood on her feet quickly and
yelled.

“ Somebody!!! Help!!!!” Rikku yelled at the top of her voice as she
heard Kathryn moan and cough. Franticly opening her pocket, she searched
through it and pulled out a Potion. Opening the small bottle she bent
down onto her knees. Gently picking up Kathryn’s head and resting it on
her knees, Kathryn slowly opened her eyes and tried to speak.

“ Uh.....Rikku....” Kathryn spoke weakly before coughing and letting
out a small yell of pain. Rikku’s eyes were full of worry, concern, and
most of all....fear.

“ Kathryn...lay still and drink this!” Rikku said as calm as she could.
The young girl slowly bent her head upward as Rikku put the bottle to
her lips. Bending it upward slightly, Kathryn drunk the liquid slowly as
she blinked her spiral brown eyes. After drinking it Rikku threw the
bottle out into the sand and looked at some of the wounds. Sand had
settled into her wounds and it had to be cleaned out.

“ Kathryn who did this to you?” Rikku asked suddenly as anger flashed
in her voice. Kathryn slowly blinked her eyes as she tried to speak as
loud as she could.

“ I....didn’t see. All...I know....is the
it...was...someone....powerful....The...person sounded...like...Alan.” Kathryn said before her head
collapsed back onto Rikku’s lap. Thinking quickly Rikku pulled off her
jacket and folded it up into a pillow.

“ Kathryn lift her head up, I’m going to get help!” Rikku said as she
rested Kathryn’s head on her jacket then jumped ff and took off toward
Home. Running as fast as she could her muscles ached but she ignored
them. Running down the sand dune as fast as she could she suddenly tripped
and fell. Letting out a shocked scream she rolled down the hill.
Reaching the bottom, Rikku quickly shook herself and then ran into the camp.
Turning to a certain tent in the middle of the forest of them, she
quickly entered it.

“ Dad!!” Rikku yelled as she entered it, out of breath and her hands
covered in blood. Cid looked up shocked and surprised as he saw Rikku’s
hands,

“ Rikku what’s wrong?!” Cid asked as Rikku pointed up to the sand dunes
and started talking fast.

“ Its Kathryn!! She’s hurt bad and bleeding terribly!! Get some healers
up here, fast!!!” Rikku said before she again took off toward the
desert. Hearing Cid, yell orders in Al Bhed to other peoples. Hearing
footsteps behind her Rikku forced herself up the hill. Reaching the top she
ran back to the spot to find Kathryn still lying there, with her wounds
bleeding fresh blood.

“ Oh my god!!” Rikku said as she bent down again and tried to wipe some
of the blood off from her body. Hearing voices behind her suddenly six
Al Bhed came besides her and started checking Kathryn. Turning her
attention to the left she saw a hysterical women crying when she saw the
child.

“ Cathy, please calm down!!” one Al Bhed said to the scared women as
tears fell down her face. Rikku set a hand on her shoulder and squeezed
it slightly. Cathy looked over and then said something.

“ Thank you Rikku. Kathryn is the only thing I have left in this world
after her father died. Thank you so much!” Cathy said as Rikku hugged
her a little then smiled.

“ You don’t need to thank me Cathy.” Rikku said as a large Al Bhed
gently picked up Kathryn and hurried back to the camp sight, leaving Rikku
alone again. Looking down at her blood covered jacket something Kathryn
said echoed in her mind.

“ It....looked like...Alan.”
******************

The sun had set slowly as the stars twinkling light slowly spread
its heavenly light over the large land of grass. Crickets chirps slowly
filled the air as firefly’s light appeared here and there. As the
docked airship slowly floated in the air over the newly built Al Bhed
resting area Tidus and Yuna slowly walked, hand in hand. Yuna slowly sighed
and leaned her head on his shoulder as Tidus wrapped a arm around her
waist and pulled her close.

“ Tidus....I’m so glad your back.” Yuna spoke as Tidus stopped and
stood in front of her, eyes locked with hers.

“ So am I Yuna....I wanted so much to hold you in my arms again.” Tidus
whispered as le leaned down to capture her lips with his. After
separating Yuna wrapped her arms around Tidus’s neck as she felt his warm arms
wrap around her and hold her close. Closing her eyes she slowly let out
a sigh and just stood there, only enjoying the moment of being
together. Pushing all other thoughts out of their minds they just listened to
their hearts beating against each other.

“ Hey, kiddos!” Wakka called from the door as Tidus and Yuna looked up
to see Wakka, smiling and having both arms crossed in front of his
chest.

“ What Wakka?” Tidus asked in a annoyed voice as Yuna smiled and
punched him playfully. Tidus laughed as Wakka shook his head and walked out
into the sudden cold. Shivering suddenly he rubbed both his arms and
then walked out to the two lovers.

“ Just wanted to let you know that the resting area had enough rooms
for all of us separately. Its late so I’m going to bed and you should too
we’re leaving for Bikanel Island tomorrow to get Rikku. Good night
kiddos so don’t stay up to late ya?” Wakka said before waving, and running
back into the resting area.

Tidus looked at where Wakka had stood confused then shook his head
slightly and chuckled to himself. Yuna slowly looked up and placed her hand
on his cheek as Tidus immediately covered her hand with his as he
turned his gaze to hers.

“ I’m going to go to bed. I’m very tired so I’ll see you in the
morning.” Yuna said softly as she bent her head up to lock her lips with his.
After a moment she reluctantly separated and stared into Tidus’s eyes
as he stared back. After a short time she slowly walked away and turned
into the rest area and closed the door, to keep the cold air out. Tidus
let out a happy sigh and slowly touched his lips.

“ God, it’s good to be back.” Tidus said as he stared upward toward the
sky. The diamond filled sky glittered ever so radiantly as Tidus
brought his attention back down to the Calm Lands. Looking around in the dark
grass lands he looked over to the west side of the Calm Lands and
looked confused.

“ Auron?” Tidus whispered to himself as he saw the lone warrior. Auron
was sitting on the soft ground, staring at the marvelous sight. The
infinite stars that filled the night sky, always looking down on us and
shedding their light to lit up our way if we journeyed during the night’s
time to rule. Turning to his certain direction, Tidus turned and
started walking in Auron’s direction. Walking up a small hill, Tidus reached
the top and stopped as his eyes widened at the beautiful sight.

As the view of the large cliff came into view the nights glimmer luster
spread all over the land. A silvery glow was emitted from the every
single glowing light, a warm gentleness seemed to fill the souls of its
viewer, filling the soul....with what seemed like...love. So gentle...so
warm...so safe. These are the gifts that the stars seemed to bestow
upon its lookers, for those who take to time to admire their beauty.

Sighing a small sigh of awe, Tidus went back to walking till he stopped
a few steps behind Auron. Looking at his general direction he saw
Auron, sitting on the soft green grass with one leg laying flat on the
ground, while another one was bent up. One of his arms was resting on his
knee while the other was resting on the ground. Even beyond his
sunglasses his eyes showed brightly in the silver aurora.

“ Auron?” Tidus spoke calmly as Auron slowly moved his attention from
the marvelous sight to Tidus. Tidus slowly made his way to a small log a
few steps away from where Auron was sitting. Slowly sitting down on the
log he bent forward and put both arms on his knees as he bent forward
slowly. The eternal glow of the stars shown on Tidus’s pale skin as he
turned his blue cerulean eyes to Auron’s brown ones.

“ Something wrong?” Tidus spoke briefly as Auron turned his attention
back to the ever going landscape. The glow spread onto his face as Auron
slowly moved his hand forward and wrapped two fingers around his
sunglasses. Moving them off his face he slowly folded them and settled them
on the ground, near his mighty sword. Almost reluctantly opening his
beautiful brown eyes, Tidus saw that they were filled with so many
emotions, so many indescribable words just floating in his mind, wanting to be
said but yet then can’t.

“ I....was just thinking. About what’s happened, what is supposedly
going to happen....and about the past.” Auron said softly as Tidus’s
expression went from curious to confused. Tuning his attention to the full
moon, floating endlessly in the sea of stars. Smiling a little Tidus
then turned his attention to Auron, as he questioned him.

“ Why the past? You said so yourself that dwelling on the past is
useless so you should always move on to the future. Those were your own
words...so I’m wondering why about the past? It’s over now...isn’t it?”
Tidus asked as a small smile spread onto Auron’s face for a minute.
Closing his eyes the smile still rested on his face.

“ Your right those were my words but....some things in life are just to
precious or.....important to ever forget. I learned that the hard
way....and I wish I hadn’t.” the smile faded from his face as Auron
finished. Tidus slowly blinked his eyes as he understood what Auron said.
Almost losing Yuna was the most horrible thing in his life that he had ever
experienced. Yuna...was just so important to him...that losing her or
even not having her around him hurt him tremendously.

“ Wanna share?” Tidus asked slowly as Auron sighed and leaned back
against a small rock behind him. Leaning his head back against the rock he
closed his eyes again and slowly shook his head.

“ I’ll all say Tidus is....that I left something long ago that I
shouldn’t of....and ever single day now....I regret it...with every ounce of
my soul.” Auron admitted slowly as Tidus nodded, not wanting to invade
his privacy. Slowly getting up Tidus patted Auron’s shoulder a minute
then walked back to the resting area. Before closing the door Tidus took
a quick glance to Auron then sighed and closed the door, almost
reluctantly shut it behind him.
************

Auron slowly lifted his head off the small rock behind him and made
his hand slowly approach his pocket. Sliding his hand in his pocket his
hand tightly wrapped around the necklace as he pulled it out. Opening
his hand he saw the glittering gold necklace sparkle in his hand from
the celestial light. Slowly taking it in both hands Auron closed his eyes
as he attached the necklace to his neck. Opening his eyes he reached
down and picked up the heart on the necklace and stared at it as a memory
came rushing back.

Reandra slowly walked down the hot stone path as her black boots slowly
clicked as she walked on the ground. Slowly coming to a stop she slowly
turned her beautiful brown eyes attention to the seas sight. Slowly
letting out a sigh, she moved her arms up to hug herself. Closing her eyes
she let out a deep sigh as she felt a cool breeze hit her hot skin.
Opening her eyes she felt a stirring in her heart and soul as she felt her
eyes start to water.

“ How can I tell him? I don’t even know if he has the same feelings
toward me....and I don’t want to ruin our friendship.....” Reandra trailed
off softly. Turning to the right of her she started to walk to the
wooden dock as the setting sun’s light slowly lit up her pale skin. Setting
foot on the wooden dock, she slowly walked to the end of it as creeks
sounded from the wood.

“.....but I love him....I know I do.” Reandra whispered as she reached
the end of dock. As she let her arms fall to her sides she felt her
heart grow heavy with regret. Should I tell? What if.....he rejects me
after this? Her mind was flooding with questions, as she sighed and leaned
against a post on the dock. Feeling to need to do something to let some
of the pain out Reandra slowly began to sing.

Here we are, safe at last
We can breathe a sigh
It seems the storm has passed
Through it all, no one knew...
That all the tears in heaven would bring me back to you.

No one I know...imagined we would make it
But it only matter is that we both believe
You and me We’re A Miracle, meant to be and nothing can change that
Mountains move and oceans part when they are standing in our way
You and me We’re A Miracle...
Angels stand watching over us and heaven shines above us everyday.

Every time I found me defeat, you were there for me....
On my side completely
You give strength, and you set me free
This is because of you, oh, I’m more than I can be

When I’m with you, the world is very beautiful....
Together their isn’t nothing we can do....

You and me We’re A Miracle...
Meant to be and nothing can change it..
Mountains move and oceans part when they are in our way..
You and me We’re A Miracle...
Angels stand watching over us and heaven shines upon us everyday...

The chances of a likely, that we would ever be...oh...two stars among
the heavens...destiny right here with me..
Oh...We’re A Miracle, meant to be and nothing can change it...
No...nothing....can change it.

Reandra slowly came to a stop as she sighed then...she felt uneasy.
Something was wrong....but what was it? Reandra’s eyes narrowed as she
felt a presence behind her and it was someone she didn’t recognize. Slowly
turning around she gasped as she saw three young men, their faces
hidden behind masks. Backing up slowly she stopped at the waters edge and
stood her ground.

“ Who are you? What do you want?!?” Reandra asked as the three men as
they laughed a evil chuckle. One of them tried to grab Reandra’s hand
but she pulled her hand away and gave him a glare. The men glared back at
her and then reached for his pocket. Slowly bringing out a knife
Reandra gasped as the man flashed in front of her.

“ Don’t worry....if you cooperate....you wont be hurt...” the man said
as he stepped forward. Reandra then suddenly kicked the knife out of
his hand. Gasping of shock he suddenly got kicked in the face hard, and
fell to the ground in pain.

“ Why you little bitch!!” the other man said as he tried to grab her.
Reandra balled up her fist and punched the guy square in the face,
making him cry out in pain. Turning to the other guy she didn’t notice that
he had grabbed the knife. Letting out a rage of anger the guy swiped
the knife upward, cutting her face. Immediately covering her cut Reandra
let out a small wince as blood trickled between her fingers. Closing
her eyes she waited for the dagger to come down in her but instead she
heard a loud grunt them a thump. Opening her eyes she saw the man on the
dock, unconscious with Auron behind him, with a rage on his face.

“ Oh my god...Reandra are you alright?” Auron asked as he came up to
her. Reandra nodded slowly then took off her hand and looked at her blood
covered palm. Feeling a sudden toll of shock overcome her she suddenly
felt weak and fell to her knees but felt strong warm arms envelope her.
Before she could say anything she blacked out.

*End of Memory*

Auron snapped out of his memory to a tune in the air. The melody was
so familiar yet...so strange. Getting up and looking around the silvery
glow of the moon lit up the whole Calm Lands. The wind slowly blew as
the grass swayed gently along with the wind, an endless dance. Looking
toward the entrance of the Calm Lands Auron caught a glimpse of a
cloaked person. Letting out a small gasp of shock he stood up fully as he
saw the cloaked figure turn and walk back into Macalania Woods.

“ That tune?....Could it be?!” Auron asked to himself as he picked up
his sword and sheathed it. Picking up his sunglasses, he put them on and
then started to run in the direction of the cloaked figure. As he
neared the entrance of the Macalania Woods he stopped for a minute and
looked in. Seeing the person disappear to the way of Bevelle, Auron went
into a run and ran as fast as he could to catch up with the cloaked
person.

“ Someday....we’ll be together again...” Reandra’s voice echoed in his
head as the memory of them separating painfully rang through his mind.
Closing his eyes tight he felt the pain of his heart yelling at him
mentally for that decision all those years ago.

“ I shouldn’t of ever left.....I never should of.....” Auron yelled to
himself as another memory came rushing back.

20 year old Auron sighed as he entered his small tent on the large
training grounds of the warriors monks. Running his hand through his black
hair Auron turned to the right of him and grabbed a small towel.
Running it over his face he closed his eyes as he felt the soft texture of
the towel run over his face. Wiping the sweat away he put the towel down
and walked to the small bed. Sitting down on it, he again closed his
eyes and let his head bend down.

“ Hey Auron.” a male voice from outside his tent called. Sighing a sigh
Auron walked to the tent entrance and opened it to see his friend,
David.

“ Hi David. What’s up?” Auron said as he moved out of the way and David
walked in, carrying two envelopes. Walking to the end of the tent,
Auron let the flap fall back down and he kept his attention to David.

“ Just got two letters. One’s from my wife and the others for you so I
thought I would just give it to you....if you don’t mind.” David said
as Auron shook his head. Handing him the letter, Auron walked back to
the bed as he sat down on it. Looking at the writing he recognized it
immediately....Reandra’s. Opening it quickly he took out the letter and
started reading...
******
Dear Auron,

I finally have the time to sit down and write to you. I have wanted to
for so long now....but...life has kept me to my tasks and training of
my own. I have decided to train myself with a sword once again...and it
will take awhile to get used to it again...but I’m confident I can do
it. My social life as we say is....well...pretty much down the drain
right now. I have kept myself so busy lately...that I have seemed to block
everyone out of my life....except you. I’ll try to get back to my
social life....but it is so hard. Every day....I’m so used to waking up and
seeing you sometime during the day....but now I can’t. I’m sorry to
burden you with my stupid problems....but I feel as if I can tell you
anything. You know I love you with all my heart Auron....and I miss you so
much everyday that I just want to collapse and cry but I know I can’t.
You have to live your life to how you want it...and I want you to be
happy Auron...I honestly do.

I have been having a recurring nightmare of something big happening and
I don’t think that this is just a nightmare anymore Auron. This
nightmare....has been haunting my dreams now for the past 6 months...and I
don’t know how much more of this my heart can take. It involves you being
hurt....and I can’t stand it. I couldn’t handle anything happening to
you Auron.....my heart, soul and every part me couldn’t handle it. I’m
going to try and figure out what this means....and please...write back
soon.

Reandra
********

Auron’s eyes turned sad as he finished reading the letter. His hands
shook slightly as he could only imagine the type of nightmare that she
was having. He could almost feel her pain...and it hurt him more than
any wound ever could. Folding up the letter and putting it back in the
envelope and setting it on the pillow he brought his hands to his face
and bent down, letting his elbows rest on his legs.

“ Something wrong Auron?” David asked as Auron slid his hands away from
his face. Auron sighed and shook his head as David patted his shoulder
for a second then walked out of the tent, but not before glancing at
Auron for a second.

“ Reandra.....” Auron whispered slowly to himself as he closed his
eyes. She was suffering from a nightmare? Auron’s heart yelled to leave and
go to her...but his mind yelled stay and train...to achieve his dream.
Grabbing his head he....slowly let out a rush of anger as he slammed
his hand on the ground. Shaking with anger he grabbed a piece of paper
and walked to the small desk in the corner.
******

Reandra,

It has been a long two years since we have gone out separate ways and
every day....I think about that day...and if it was the right decision.
Though we have been away from each other....I still love you too...and
I hope that you can forgive me for this. Just for me...wanting to
fulfill my dream...doesn’t give me the right to hurt you. I am so
sorry....and I hope you can forgive me. I am having a inner struggle with myself.
My heart and soul want to return to you but my mind says stay and
train. Believe me....I want to see you but....if the training warrior monks
leave....they cannot come back. I don’t know what to do....I am so lost
without you.

I am thinking....of quitting...to come back to you but.....I just don’t
know. After reading your letter about your nightmare I just want to
drop everything and run back to you....to help you during this difficult
time. I am so lost....but I can go on. I love you with every passing
moment....and I hope for it to last forever.

Auron

* End of Memory*

Auron rushed through the town of Bevelle, it had been so long...since
he had visited this neighborhood. This...was the same one where Reandra
and Auron had gone their separate ways. Turning down a corner he
stopped suddenly as he found where he was. The dock.....the same dock.
Squinting his eyes he saw the cloaked figure just standing there, looking
over the sea. Walking foreword slowly he walked on the green grass that
swayed forward, with the ocean’s gentle breeze.

Stepping onto the wooden dock, Auron stood there, staring at the back
of the cloaked figure. Time seemed to slow as he gathered up his voice
and spoke.

“ We meet again....” Auron said as the cloaked figure slowly turned
around and stood there, ever so silently.

“ Yes.....after all these years...” the voice spoke softly as Auron
walked a few steps closer.

“ Who....are you?” Auron asked as the cloaked figure slowly reached its
hand up slowly as it clutched the top of it. Slowly pulling it off it
revealed a fit young women. Her long wavy brown hair and beautiful brown
eyes sunk into Auron’s memory. Her eyes were sad and yet....happy.
Auron’s jaw dropped as his eyes started to fill up with tears.

“ Reandra....”
