The Action Buffy and Angel Round Robin Fic

Willow stifled another yawn. Asking him to tell her hadn't been a good idea. He was long -winded and pompous even when he told stories, then she realised she wasn't listening and hadn't been for sometime. She blinked twice and focused on his voice.

"So that was how I was able to dust Siriat and Bludhaven and how I became the Watcher for the new Slayer, who is Buffy."

"Oh," Willow said, ineloquently. So he'd dusted them afterall. She'd been listening at the beginning when he told about them...then she just faded out. "Thank you Giles."

"You're very welcome Willow. Now, I'm just going to get some books from the Calendar woman. She hasn't returned them yet. I'll return shortly.

"Ok. I'll...do some more research," she smiled. He nodded, pushed his glasses up and left the library. "Eep. He thinks I listened. Better get to the Watcher's Diaries and do some research. But Giles won't approve so I'll take it home and leave a note for him to tell him I've gone home.

She smiled and wrote the note then walked into Giles' office. She lifted the crystal ball paperweight and took the key badly hidden under it. Using the key she unlocked his filing cabinet and opened the top drawer. She took the newest diary and checked that it was in fact where Giles was writing his entries. She then opened the second drawer and saw the shorter diaries that were the personal diaries of Watchers past and present. Again, she retrieved the last edition and checked that it was Giles'.

"I don't think Giles would approve of you stealing his diaries, Willow." Willow spun on her heel, uttering a small yelp. Clutching the books to her chest she gasped, "Angel. Don't do that!"

"Why are you taking books from Giles' office?"

She locked the cabinet and replaced the key on the desk. She walked past the vampire and began to pack her bag. "He told me a story this evening and ... I phased out and missed the middle. I want to catch up."

"And do a little research into this man you realise you don't actually know anything about?" he suggested.

"Sort of. Look, I'm tired. I'm going home. I've left Giles a note but can you tell him that I've gone..."

"I'll walk you home."

"But you must have come here to..."

"It can wait," he said.

Willow made a face that told Angel he was interefereing but he didn't care. She sighed, finally. "Alright. Thank you."

Willow was a quiet companion for the dark vampire as he walked her home. They said goodnight at the door and she walked upstairs. Alone in her parents house. She sat on her bed and took the diaries out of her bag. Beginning with the large Watchers diary, she thumbed through till she found where Giles had begun. Scanning the entries she saw nothing of any use in her research so she put the book aside and picked up the smaller personal diary. She felt a moment of guilt as she held it in her hands unopened. A war was going on between her conscience and her thirst for knowledge. The thirst for knowledge won and she opened the journal. She skimmed the dates till she found an entry that mentioned the story Giles had told her that night. The entry referenced a much earlier entry which she flipped to.

Among the lines of writing were two drawings. The slender woman, aged in her early twenties, clad in a revealing dress was inscribed as 'Siriat'. The well-built man of a similar age was inscribed 'Bludhaven'. "So this is what you two look like," she said, running careful fingers over the pages. Below the names were a vague, short description of an early encounter, with the man that was then known as 'Ripper'.

'I met two new vampires tonight during my nightly revels in London town. They were old and well-versed in their craft. I convinced them I would be more use to them alive because of my connections to the Council. But I believe I was stupid to gamble on their integrity. I have spoken with father and he has agreed that something must be done. I am to leave London for a time. I do not know where I am to be sent but today I realised my destiny and that I have been foolish to fight against it.

'I do not know what will become of me after tonight. I fear the worst.'

Willow closed the book. "Must research...need more research..."
