Melodi was founded by
Fariborz Fakhari in February 1996.
In the beginning Melodi had two members one played Synthesizer and one played Saxophone.
The idea behind forming the group was to play folkloric Kurdish melodies mixed with the music of the time, such as jazz, Latin, experimental music etc.
Now Melodi has four permanent members:
