A Halloween Fairytale

Once upon a time, there was a land, a mysterious realm called Special Placement.  Witches, princesses, vampires, and yes, Pippi Longstocking lived together in harmony.

The strong and powerful Queen Luyba ruled these charmed creatures.  She was always cheery and gung-ho (take that Soniya!) about everything.  Only one of her subjects detested her. He was an evil, malevolent sorcerer, who was insanely jealous of Luyba’s power. Even his name struck fear into the hearts of innocents. What was it?

  …Lord MoldyWart.

One day, when he could take it no longer, he made Queen Luyba disappear and put upon Special Placement a powerful curse, which plunged the land into darkness and anarchy. With no one to lead them out of obscurity, the beings became cruel and heartless, and banded together in small groups, attacking each other and destroying the once majestic land.

However, hope soon came in the form of a righteous vigilante – Omarius the Great.  He battled courageously against demons and inspired faith in the people of Special Placement.  Many who had strayed were now becoming good again.

With his mighty and mystical board eraser, Excaliber, Omarius swept through the region, restoring order.

On one of his most famous battles, Omar defeated a witch, also known as Revolutionary Girl Paula (If you don’t know anything about anime, you won’t get this).

“Evil witch, I banish you!”

But even after all this fighting and, err, bloodshed, many still doubted that their kingdom would ever be returned to it’s final glory.

“I do not see a future.  But then again, I have one eye.”
“Yeah, whatever. Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”

Mighty Omarius went off on a quest for the Holy Girl, hoping that if he found the Queen, she could help restore the kingdom. He searched over high mountains and wide rivers.

Finally, he reached the lair of Lord MoldyWart. To his surprise, he found out that Lord MoldyWart had left the land of Special Placement to make it big in LA as a film extra.  In his place was his successor, Lady So the Cynical.

“Kinda hard to take a guy seriously if he’s in tights and is wearing a plastic crown.  You’re gonna fight me with a shield made out of socks and a board eraser?!”

After a bitter struggle (Omarius threatened to destroy her Nirvana and Radiohead CD”s), our fav hero/champion/Trinidadian dude found the cell that Her Majesty had been locked in. Only one problem—

 BEFORE                                                        AFTER

But Queen Luyba did not want to return. She could not bear the strain of leadership no longer. And besides, the cell had premium cable.

Omarius soon gave up on his gallant mission and became an engineer. Tourists soon took over the land of Special Placement, which became a resort island with swanky clubs and villa-style hotels decorated with faux palm trees.

The magical creatures willingly adjusted to their new life, and set up businesses.
