Congratulations to the Sykes family. Graham has
followed Wendys victory by coming out on top in a tightly contested mens championship.
Some good early season results put points on the board, before injury ignited
the spark of hope into the eyes of some of the pack. No mercy was shown, Graham
could only stand and watch as points were eagerly snapped up. His league position
fell almost as fast as Town's.
Physio's, Doctors, Quack's, Verucca cream, Wise old men and Voodoo were all tried.
Nothing worked. Was it the curse uttered by that poor sheep with it's last breath of life
making him suffer ?.
Finally a diagnosis, Graham was a Mutant, a giant toe with a human being growing out of the top of it. Seperate the
human from the toe and it might be able to survive on its own. A surgeon with a sharpe knife was found,
and the deed was done.
The human did survive, took on the identity of the giant toe, and set about planning it's comeback.
The pack had become complacent, convinced their rival was doomed to mid table
obscurity.( lets hope Town end up there ). They had made a terrible mistake. The
human, no longer handicapped by the giant toe found it could run like the wind.
This new found freedom, coupled with cunning tactics enabled it to storm up the league
and complete a stunning victory.
At the Road Runners 10k, were victory was sealed, you could hear the mutterings,
"Bloody Hell, Sykes is back".
