melton Calcutta

 

The Melton Racing Pigeon Club inc, held the Calcutta auction on Friday the 15th of June at its clubrooms in Brooklyn Road, Melton. 

Members were allowed to enter three (3) birds maximum, with the race to be conducted in conjunction with the 1st Hillston race (300 miles) on the 18th of August 2001.  A total of 32 birds were entered and a total prize pool raised of $734.

Members and friends started arriving at the club at 7.30pm for penning of the birds and enjoyed a spit roast meal and refreshments before the auction began.

The birds were auctioned off by club member Wayne Quinlan, it was good to see the spirited bidding between all participants with many birds (performance only) going to non pigeon flyers.  Results will be published after completion of the event.
