!Peer Tutoring

Tutor a student who speaks English as a second language (or third)

Our high school has a population of students who have moved from other countries to the United States.  Can you imagine going to school in another country where they speak another language?  Not only would you have to understand the language, you are also expected to take classes, with all of the other students in Math, Science, English Social Studies, etc.

·                 You can either find these students in your classes/community or ask the teacher for assistance.

·                 You may help this person before or after school hours at school or at your home if you prefer.

·                 You must spend 30 consecutive minutes helping him/her in any class they need additional assistance in.

·                 Is it not necessary that you speak their native tongue.
