        Helga looked up.  She said something is coming.  Erik and Helga were running back home. Something really happened to all their plants. Helga and Erik helped mother put the blankets on top of the plants. The grasshoppers were eating their plants.

Helga was happy when Dad came home. The grasshoppers were everywhere.   Helga and Erik had a baby sister and the grasshoppers went on her.  She was crying.

 I like this book because they didn’t ride cars like we do but rode horse and carriages.  After four weeks dad had to go to work again.  Helga’s mother woke her up to pour hot water in the trough.  At lasts the grasshopper flew away.

I liked reading this book because I liked reading about the things that Helga and Erik did for their mother.  I do things with my mother sometimes too. I help mom plant in our garden and help clean around the house.
