One afternoon Nate the Great was in his garden picking up weeds in the hot sun.  Oliver come over to tell Nate that he lost his weed and he found a book called Wonderful Weeds of the Wild.  He pulled it out and opened it. He found Oliver’s weed.  He took the weed and Oliver asked, “How did you find it between two pages?”

        I liked this book because Nate the Great found the book at the library and nobody helped him. He found the weed himself.

       The story takes place in Kentucky outside in the woods. Abe Lincoln, Sarah, Tom, Elizabeth, Dennis and Nancy are the main characters in this story.

       On February 12, 1809 Abe was born in a cabin. Tom Lincoln was a skilled carpenter and built the cabin and its furniture. On the frontier it was a dry spell, they needed every bit of food they could grow, one bad flood could wreck the year’s crop.

       Abe Lincoln really enjoyed school, he would practice writing every chance that he got, he also enjoyed books. Abe became a lawyer without even going to school.

       In the end, Abe became the sixteenth president of the United States of America. He led his country into the Civil War. I loved this book because it taught me some new things about our 16^th president.
