Along time ago, May-May and Rose were going West in their wagon. The horse would not go. Then Rose thought of a horse word for go,  “Giddy-up” and the horse went.

The Golly sisters gave a show for dogs. They got lost and May-May lost her hat. It was a problem because she really needed the hat for the show. She found it. They went on to have a people show.

I liked this story because I like horses and reading about Mississippi.

Title: Abe Lincoln’s Hat

Author:  Martha Brenner

Setting:  This story takes place outside in Illinois.

Abe Lincoln was very famous because of his tall black hat. He put all his letters and envelops in his hat. He was very poor. He became a lawyer.      Abe Lincoln became the thirteenth president of the United States of America.

He had a pet horse named Old Buck and I have a pet cat, dog, and fish. My fish’s name is Freddie, my cat’s name is Tigger and my dog’s name is Mandy. We are both animal lovers.

I liked reading this book because I like presidents and biography books. This book was special because my favorite president is Abraham Lincoln.
