The parent workshops are designed to strengthen the parent-teacher relationship that is so important to a child's school success.

At each workshop, parents will be exposed to quality children's literature and learn about reading strategies that will help their children become life long, successful readers.

Benefits:

  • Workshops will help to establish a network of support and a learning partnership between school and home.

  • Parents will learn enjoyable ways to read and talk about books with their children.
  • Parents will build a stronger bond with their children and enhance their own confidence about reading.
  • Parents will have an opportunity to explore different genres in detail and gain insight into and an understanding of the genre which can later be applied when reading with their child at home.

  • Attending the workshops will strengthen communication between parents and the school community.
