McCoy Med School Dropout

Scandal greeted the Enterprise crew as it returned from its five-year mission. During a recent remodeling of a Starfleet recruiting facility in Georgia, a data disc containing a background check filled out by Leonard McCoy was found.

Lost under the grate of a ventilation shaft, it apparently had never received review. On the form, McCoy stated that he had attended medical school for two years in the Cayman Islands.

McCoy had applied to be a Starfleet medic but was mistakenly assigned as Chief Medical Officer. A source at Starfleet Command would not comment on the error except to say that McCoy might face disciplinary review for not informing Starfleet "of the misunderstanding regarding his credentials."

Bones of Contention

Fanning the flames of the McCoy scandal, Captain James T. Kirk was seen entering and leaving a San Francisco Hospital today. The director of the hospital said it was against policy to comment on the medical records of anyone.

But sources within the hospital spoke off the record. Kirk allegedly said that he needed "a real doctor" and that Starfleet had "let him down."

Although the nature of Kirk's problem is not known for sure, sources observed that while Kirk was being examined a specialist in cross species infection was paged. After this, a doctor was overheard saying that Kirk "only needed a shot."
